Cherokee Memorial Park is proud to announce the completion of two new gardens - Garden of Angels and Garden of Freedom.
Garden of Angels
The symbolism of angels is present in both religious and spiritual beliefs. Some see them as messengers between God and man. Others consider them to be signs of rebirth and resurrection, representing the journey from earth to heaven. Still others view them as benevolent guardians. But no matter how they are interpreted, one element remains constant: angels are a universal symbol of comfort.
Cherokee Memorial Park offers this unwavering solace in the new Garden of Angels. Whether you embrace a sacred religion or a secular spirituality, this tranquil setting provides a gentle, comforting atmosphere of peace and protection. To ensure a place for you and your loved ones in this serene garden, call Cherokee Memorial Park today.
The Garden of Angels offers 3 life-sized hand-carved marble angels specifically carved for Cherokee Memorial Park by craftsmen
in Carrara, Italy. Garden niches surround each angel and form the foundation for three uniquely inspired areas.
Garden of Freedom
All veterans who were honorably discharged are technically eligible to receive a resting place in a National Cemetery. But there is a very limited number of National Cemeteries available to veterans and their spouses. In response to this need, Cherokee Memorial Park has opened an exclusive section in the Garden of Freedom honoring veterans. Adjacent to the Law Enforcement and Fire Fighters Memorial in the new Garden of Freedom is an exclusive section set aside for Peace Officers, Fire Fighters, their support staffs and spouses.
The garden boasts a ten-foot bronze sculpture of an eagle with an American flag clutched in its talons entitled “On the Wings of Freedom”. It is in flight over a cascading waterfall. Cremation niches surround the feature and make it a beautiful setting for contemplation and honor.
