Marjorie Alice Christy

Marjorie Alice Christy, age 83, of Lodi, California, passed away on September 2, 2010. She was born to Albert and Alice Faunt on May 28, 1927 in Oakland, CA.

The family settled in the Lodi area in 1967. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed making all kinds of crafts and sewing. She was also an avid quilt-maker. In the past she was active in the 4H and Parents Club in Oakview School District.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald S. Christy on November 30, 2008; son, Donald Scott Christy; and a grandson, Joshua Christy.

Survived by a son, Neff (Julie) Christy of Lodi; two daughters, Lauren (Renato) Zarate of Mexico, and Kathryn Mayer of Sandpoint, Idaho; a sister, Jeanie Anderson of Modesto; five grandchildren, Clarissa, Tamara, and Daniel Zarate, Jeremy and Spencer Christy; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, September 9, 2010, 11:00 a.m. in Chapel of Flowers at Cherokee Memorial Park, Hwy 99 and Harney Lane, Lodi. Inurnment will be private. Pastor Chris Townsend of Emanuel Lutheran Church officiating.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 8th from 1:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, (near Beckman Road), Lodi.
