SERVICE
A graveside service will follow at 2:00pm on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Martha Sanders

September 11, 1932 - December 5, 2022

Martha Marie Sanders, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother passed away, after her second bout with cancer, on Monday, December 5, 2022, at the age of 90 at her home in Lodi, CA surrounded by her children.

Born in Pope County, Arkansas to George and Dora (Yow) Wells. She has two sisters and four brothers. Marie married John C. Sanders in 1949. They settled in Lodi, CA in 1955 where they raised their three children until John’s death in 1969. She stayed in Lodi and finished raising their children on her own. Marie worked as a cashier at Gibsons then went to work for Century Assembly for 32 years as a secretary when the church was First Assembly of God. Later she was the bookkeeper and apartment manager.

She is survived by her children, Susan (Charles) McClerkin, Rick (Sharon) Sanders and Cheryl (Steve) Rutledge; six grandchildren, Tracy (David) Malandra, John (Andrea) Sanders, Jennifer (Brian) Murphey, Sean McClerkin, Aimee (Tony) Daniello and Travis Flanders; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great- great grandson; brothers, George (Lea) Wells, Rufus (Louise) Wells, Carroll (Nila) Wells and numerous nieces and nephews.

Marie was preceded in death by her husband John Sanders, her parents George and Dora (Yow) Wells, sisters Wilma Rentfro and Kathy Brown, brother Fred Wells and two grandbabies.

When asked how she dealt with the many challenges of life she said she leaned heavily on Philippians 4:13 … I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. She loved her kids and grandchildren with her whole being. She will be greatly missed.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 29, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Cherokee Memorial Park.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Jose Velazquez

April 4, 1967 - December 1, 2022

VISITATION
A visitation will be held from 3:00pm - 7:00pm with a rosary starting at 6:00pm on Thursday, December 22nd, 2022 at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.

SERVICE
A service will be held the following day at 10:00am on Friday, December 23rd, 2022 at St. Anne's Catholic Church  located at 215 W. Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240.

Stephen S. Olmos

April 4, 1951 - November 30, 2022


Steve was born in French Camp, CA to parents Santiago “Sandy” and Romalda “Bert” Olmos.

He lived in Stockton his whole life where he met his loving wife Cynthia in 1969, the same year he graduated from Edison High School. Two years later, they were married, and spent 51 incredible years together. In 1972, Steve began his career with Pacific Gas and Electric as a truck driver and retired as a Remote Leadman in the Materials Department after 44 years of dedicated service.

Steve was always active in sports. In his younger days, he enjoyed softball very much. As an adult, he coached and umpired, as well as played golf. He coached CYO basketball at St. Gertude’s and umpired Women’s A-Division softball. More than anything, he loved to barbecue and spend time with his family and friends.

Steve was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and “Papa.” He is survived by wife Cynthia, brother Gilbert (Kelly), sister Rebecca (Sonny), daughter Marcia (Joe), son Santiago Gregory (Cynthia), grandchildren: Gregory, Kevin, Daniel, Merrissa, Gabriel, Emilio, Elias, and great-granddaughters: Malaya, Kinsley, and Emilia. Steve is preceded in passing by brother Richard (Stephanie).

A Celebration of Life will be held December 19, 2022 at Cherokee Memorial Park and Funeral
Home, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi CA, at 1:00pm in the Vineyard Chapel.
