David Douglas Ray "Doug"

David Douglas Ray, age 31, was born to David G. Ray and Julie M. (Lawrence) Ray in Stockton, CA on October 27th, 1983 at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, and passed away in the afternoon of June 16th, 2015 at the same hospital he began life.

Doug was born with the love of anything mechanical. Growing up, he loved to take anything and everything apart and put it back together, including his sister's Barbie car. It wasn’t abnormal to see his room full of ferris wheels and roller coasters that he had built entirely of Legos and K-nex. He was truly gifted in his mechanical abilities and began working for the family business at a very young age. He learned fast and quickly surpassed the skills of men twice his age. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 2001 and continued to work for the family business. His piercing blue eyes and shy smile will always be  remembered by those who knew him.

He is survived by his father and mother, David and Julie Ray of Stockton; his son Jacob D. Ray, age 8; his sister Jennifer Ray; and two nieces Rayanne and Lilliana. He is also survived by his grandparents: Barbara Lawrence of Stockton, Harold Lawrence of Galt and Charles Ray of Culpeper, VA. His grandmother  Renee Ray, predeceased him in 2008. He is survived by many more aunts, uncles, and cousins ranging from California to Saudi Arabia.

Her strength of faith kept her very strong as she planned her journey to leave us with positive words that touched many. Mary told us all to "practice your faith and stay true to God’s word".
