Debra Clark

November 22, 1961 - January 05, 2021

Sadly, we lost our beloved Debra Ann Clark, of Lodi, on January 5, 2021 at the age of 59. Debra was born November 22, 1961 in Sacramento, California to Jack and Darlene Clark. She graduated from Casa Roble High School in 1979 and then obtained a degree from Heald Business College. Debra enjoyed her career as a dedicated legal secretary. She was a member of the Stockton- San Joaquin Legal Secretaries Association, holding many positions including President. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic Church and remained faithful throughout her life.

Debra was proceeded in death by her parents, Jack and Darlene Clark, grandparents, her beloved aunt, Diana Kirsten, and her unborn son. She is survived by her children, Tiffany Timmerman, Jacob Timmerman (Ashley), Laci Clark (Tony), and Elisha Lower (Eric). She was a devoted Mimi to Ethan, Anna Joy, Violet Skye, TJ, Tony, Evan, Devin, and Kailani. Debra was the beloved sister to Don Clark (Anne Marie), Maryann LaGrande (Brent), Tara Clark, and Todd Clark (Deana). She was the treasured aunt to Logan LaGrande (Lauren), Katrina LaGrande, and Tyler Clark. Debra will be greatly missed by her partner, Doug Smith.

Debra was the life of the party. Always in stilettos, Debra loved to sing, dance, and gamble. She lived life to the fullest and in doing so, brought joy, light and laughter to all that were blessed to know her. She made many lifelong friendships and will be deeply missed.

The family would like to thank the nurses and doctors that treated Debra with dignity and grace during her final days. Additionally, the family will be forever grateful for the love, support, and friendship that Randy and Julie Thomas have always shown Debra.

The family will hold a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Debra’s memory to the Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1388, Lodi, California 95241.

William Morrison

November 02, 1931 - January 04, 2021

William "Bill" Morrison of Lodi, passed away on Monday, January 4, 2021 at the age of 89.

William was born on November 2, 1931 in Fort Worth, Texas. He was raised in Ohio where he met and married his wife Merian J. Morrison on October 16, 1954. They were married for 58 years until her passing in June of 2013.

He served ten years in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Radar Tech in the Strategic Air Command and flew most often in a B36 Bomber, he also flew in B29s and B52s. After being discharged in April of 1961, he moved his family to the Sacramento area of California, then to Lodi in 1968 where he remained until his passing.

He retired after 30+ years from Southern Pacific Pipeline (Kinder-Morgan). After his wife's passing in 2013, he volunteered with the Lodi Police Department's Partner Program for five years. His other passions were fishing, camping, and spending time with his family.

William is survived by his children, Mindy Morrison, Bill Jr., and Shelly Morrison and family, Joyce and Leonard Partika and family; five grandchildren, Jamie, Ricky, Jessica, Samantha, and Kyle; and four great grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service to be announced in the near future.

Marilyn Yu

March 10, 1943 - January 03, 2021

Marilyn L. Yu peacefully went with our Lord on Jan. 3, 2021 with her son Ricky and niece Dory Landero by her side in LMH ICU. She was born to Pelagio P. Landero and Esther Panes on March 10, 1943 in Koronadal So. Cot. Philippines. She came to Lodi in 1991 and worked as a CNA in Fairmont and Delta Conx. Hospital in which she was awarded as employee of the year.

She visited her sister Madeline in Australia and the Philippines a couple of times. Marilyn was a good Samaritan. She was a loving and healthy person until Covid-19 hit her.

Marilyn is survived by her husband, Ernesto S. Yu; children, Lilebeth Malong and Richard Yu in the Philippines, Lalaine L. Yu and daughter Angel of Dubai, and Ricky; brothers, Atty. Johnny Landero and Samuel; sisters, Madeline Sokolov, Erlinda McPherson and Daisy L. Solis; as well as grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Her body will be flown to Surallah So. Cot. Philippines to be with her parents and siblings.

Marilyn, you will be missed. We love you.

Jeffrey Robinson

September 23, 1939 - January 3, 2021

Born September 23, 1939 in Portland, OR – passed away peacefully in Sacramento, CA on Sunday, January 3 at the age of 81.

Jeff was a longtime resident of Stockton, CA but raised in San Francisco. There he attended St. John's Lutheran Church and School.

Jeff shared his love for nature and road trips with his family. He and his loving wife Betty enjoyed countless road trips throughout beautiful California and the West. Their daughters Linda and Diane cherish precious memories of fun adventures and family camping that Jeff was sure to make happen frequently during their youth.

Jeff was content with simple pleasures: reminiscing about bike rides with friends from 17th street (SF), swimming at the Sutro Baths, exploring Playland at the Beach, watching his favorite Westerns and football teams, going to the gym, buying and selling cars, and expounding about war history.

Jeff is survived by his daughters Linda (Brad) and Diane (Jack), his sister Pam (Bill), along with members of the Robinson and Rodrigues families.

Predeceased by his wife Betty, father Sidney, mother Jacquie, stepmother Lillie, who loved and cared for Jeff as her own, sister Nancy and brother Tom.

 

Due to COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, there will be no service – the family will celebrate Jeff's life privately.

In memory of Jeff’s heart for the homeless, gifts can be made to the Haven of Peace (French Camp, CA); Gospel Center Rescue Mission (Stockton, CA); or a charity of your choice.

Arturo Tovar

November 13, 1944 - January 01, 2021

Arturo Tovar of Woodbridge passed away January 1, 2021 in Sacramento California.

Arturo was born November 13, 1944 in Eagle Pass Texas to Sostenes and Rosa Tovar. Arturo loved the Lord with all his heart, he was a gentle soul and spirit he will be dearly missed and will always be cherished by countless friends and family.

Arturo was a hard worker and heartfelt Christian with total dedication and compassion for his family, friends, and belief in God. He was an active member of Bethel Open Bible Church. Whenever a family member or friend was in need of prayer, Art was the first one to go and pray with that person. At family gatherings Art was always asked to say the blessing before the food was served.

Art married Rose Marie "Rosie" the love of this life in March of 1963 and were together until Rosie passed away in 2018. Together they built their life and had 5 children, Art Tovar Jr., Tracy Tovar, Angela Sarmento (John), Gabriel Tovar and Alex Tovar. They have seven grandchildren, James, Dominic, Diana-Rose, Janelle, Colleen, Joshua and Arianna and two great grandchildren, Bellissima-Renee and Donntel Jr. who are the heart and soul of his family.

Art is also survived by his siblings, Ernest Tovar (Gloria), Rudy Tovar (Lupe), Sostenes Tovar Jr. (Yolanda), John Tovar, Robert Tovar, Maria (Liz) Hernandez (Abel), Dora Hernandez (Eli), Esther Claramo, Tomas (Tommie) Gamez, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and extended family.

Art enjoyed hunting and fishing, tinkering with his hands and watching classic cowboy movies. Texan at heart often times you would see him all decked out in his cowboy hat, bolo tie and cowboy boots.

Arturo is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Rosie Tovar; parents, Sostenes and Rosa Tovar; and grandson, Gabriel D. Tovar Jr.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the numerous caregivers who assisted Arturo through these past several weeks and supported him in his final days.

Arturo will be honored with a graveside celebration of life outdoors under the canopies Tuesday January 12, 2021 at 12 p.m. noon at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery 13951 Beckman Road, Lodi Ca. 95240 with Pastor Jim Pluimer officiating. Please wear your masks and social distancing would be appreciated!

Dennie Toschi

January 05, 1946 - January 01, 2021

Dennis Paul Toschi was born in Sacramento, Ca. on January 5, 1946 and passed away in Lodi, Ca. on January 1, 2021.

He was raised in Walnut Grove, Ca. where he attended school, and remained there until moving to Lodi in 1964. He went to work for Del Monte Corporation and retired after 45 years. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, estate sales, cooking and enjoyed many wonderful years on the Sacramento River at Greening's Ko-Ket resort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dominic and Tina Toschi; and son, Matthew Paul Toschi. He is survived by his son, Scott (Robin) Toschi; daughter, Susan (Mike) Walker; grandchildren, Justin Toschi, Tyler Toschi, Lexie Walker, Cole Walker, Brett Toschi and Michael Toschi; great grandson, Ashton Toschi; and his cousins, Sally Gribaudo and Shelley Cowley.

At his request, there will be no services.

Julie Evans Virillio

October 04, 1962 - December 31, 2020

Julie passed into eternity Dec. 31, 2020 and will be missed by her friends and family.

Julie was born Oct. 4, 1962 in Lodi CA to William and Judith Evans. She attended local schools in the Lodi and Stockton area, completing the police academy at Delta College and later did undergraduate classes at UOP.

Julie is survived by her son, Anthony (Amanda) Virgilio; daughter, Rebecca (Robert) Santos; son, Nicholas Sanserino; grandchildren, Ryder and Riley Santos and Avery and Abigail Virgilio; her dad, William "Jerry" Evans; step mother, Colleen Evans; brothers, Leslie Evans, Gregory (Stephanie) Evans of Lodi and Jason (Danielle) Evans of Rifle, CO; as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Julie was preceded in death by her mother, Judith; and grandson, Rhett Santos.

Julie was very proud of her children and grandchildren. She loved animals from a very young age and was active in pet rescue and placement. She worked for the city of Lodi as a code enforcer as well as for the San Joaquin County welfare department where she retired due to multiple health issues. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.

James Freeman

April 16, 1933 - December 31, 2020

On Thurs., December 31, 2020 James Leo Freeman loving husband and father of six children, passed away peacefully in his sleep of congestive heart failure at the age of 87.

Jim was born on April 16, 1933 in Pelsor, Arkansas to Henry Freeman and Ella Mae (Horner) Freeman. On March 23, 1952, he married Martha Ann Hacker. They enjoyed 68 years of marriage raising 3 sons, James Timothy, Matthew, and Henry, and 3 daughters, Cynthia, April, and Tamara. He was the sales manager at Mainland Nursery for 24 years before opening his own plant shop called 'The Green Scene' in Downtown Stockton. After owning the plant shop, he went on to work at Baumbach's Nursery for 7 years before retiring.

Jim had a green thumb and always found joy working in the nursery industry and tending to his plants. He often made plant arrangements for any and every occasion, and his designs were appreciated by all who received them. He also enjoyed collecting coins and was often surprising the family with his new coin purchases and reminding us that "if you ever find yourself a dime from 1964 or earlier you can be sure it's made out of real silver." Jim was always the first to crack a quick-witted joke that made everyone around him laugh. He made good times better, but above all Jim loved the Lord and his family- both of which were his anchor throughout his life.

Jim was preceded in death by his father, Henry; his mother, Ella Mae; his brothers, Leroy and Huedel; and his baby daughter, Cynthia. He is survived by his wife, Martha; his five children, James Timothy (Tillie), Matthew, April (Ron), Tamara, and Henry (Laurie); his sister, Georgianna Moss; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, January 11th, 2021 at the Cherokee Memorial Cemetery in Lodi at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be sent in his memory to American River Hospice Services.

Lucila Romano

October 31, 1930 - December 30, 2020

Lucila Quijalvo Romano passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2020 in Stockton.

A native to Bayambang, Pangasinan, Philippines, she was born to Francisco and Palagia Quijalvo on October 31, 1930. She was born third of 9 children. She studied at the Pontifical and Royal University of Santo Tomas, the Catholic University of the Philippines and graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education. After college she pursued a career as a teacher. On April 2, 1959 she married her late husband Filemon Pacrem Romano Sr. She was a military wife who raised her four children in Hawaii and California. During her retirement years, she owned a daycare for small children. She was an avid gardener, devout Catholic, loved to travel, and was a generous benefactor of her church in the Philippines. She was also an active member of the Filipino United States Armed Forces Retirees Association, honored for her continued loyalty, dedication and contribution. She is survived by her loving children: Anthony Romano Sr., Bryant Romano, Cynthia and Marty Medina and Filemon Jr. and Michelle Romano, thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.

VISITATION
Visitation will be Monday, January 18 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240. Committal will be at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery.

SERVICE
A Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 10:00 am at San Joaquin Catholic Cemetery. Recitation of the rosary will be Tuesday, January 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi ,CA.

Ray Heathington

October 17, 1933 - December 30, 2020

Ray Heathington passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 30, 2020 at the age of 87. He is preceded in death by; his parents, Lawrence Heathington and Grace Roby, his loving wife of fifty four years, JoAnn Heathington and son Tony Heathington. Ray is survived by his daughter Shelly Smoak and his four grandchildren, Toni Berning, Saul Smoak, Sunshine Smoak and Christopher Heathington, and 8 great grandchildren.

Ray was born in Mesa, Az. After High School he enlisted in the United States Marine Core from 1951-1954. After his time in the service he married the love of his life , JoAnn Martin and they had two children, Tony and Shelly. Ray was a member of the Cement Masons Local 400 for 55 years. He enjoyed flat tracking, fishing and assembling model airplanes.

There was nothing Ray loved more than his family and most of all his unconditional loyalty and love to his wife JoAnn who he honored until his last day.

Graveside service will be held Monday January 11, 2021 at 10 am at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.
