Robert Barbee

November , 1943 - May 2, 2021

It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Robert Eugene Barbee, 77 of Lodi on May 2nd, 2021. He fought a long and courageous battle with cancer for 6 ½ years.

Bob was born in November 1943 to Cecil Engram Barbee and Ruby Mae Barham in San Bernardino California.  He had 5 brothers and 4 sisters.

In July 1962, he married the love of his life Nylene McComb. He was a loving husband and they were happily married and inseparable for nearly 59 years.  Anyone who knew Bob personally, knew you’d never find Bob without Nylene.

Bob was manager of McComb’s Chevron in Lodi for 25 years and owned his own business, Bob’s Precision Auto in Lodi for 22 years.  As owner of Bob’s Precision Auto, he took pride in delivering personalized quality service to all of his clients.  He often picked up and delivered customers and their vehicles himself.  He could always be trusted and depended on, as he was a man of his word and always looked out for the best interest and safety of others.

Bob was a generous man that always found happiness in giving to others.  For many years Bob & Nylene would donated bicycles to Adopt-A-Child at Christmas.  He loved giving to any cause that helped others, but had a special soft spot for children and animals.

Bob & Nylene loved family and to travel in their RV.  There are so many memories of camping with family, his barbequing, making his delicious fresh salsa, and cooking breakfast.  He was always known to be a prankster so no matter where he was, you were sure to have a good time as you never knew what was coming next.

Bob is preceded in death by his parents, 4 brothers, 3 sisters and precious dog Annie.

He is survived by his loving wife of almost 59 years Nylene and his buddy Coal B Jack.   He is survived by brother Cecil Barbee (BeaAnn), Arthur Serpa (Joanne) and sister Jeanne Slocum(Don).  He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Bob was loved deeply and will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
