Larry Lackey

June 4, 1949 - December 10, 2024

On December 10, 2024, our beloved Larry W. Lackey went home to his final resting place with the Lord. Larry was born on June 4, 1949, in Stockton, CA, at St. Joseph's Hospital, to James T. and Norma (Crouch) Lackey. Larry was a lifetime resident of Stockton and attended local schools, graduating from Franklin High School where he lettered in swimming and water polo. He would later receive his Associate of Arts Degree from San Joaquin Delta College and then attend San Jose State University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree. He was the first one in his family to graduate from college. After graduation, he worked for the City of Stockton Parks and Recreation Department as the Director of Pixie Woods and Center Director at Webster Junior High where he coached youth sports teams. In 1979, he began his career with PG&E, in the Energy Conservation and Load Management Department. He loved both jobs and made many lifetime friends, not only at work, but throughout the community. Larry and Susan would marry right out of college and would raise their daughters Nicolle and Tracci Lackey (Dare). He was a loving and devoted Father dedicating his life to making sure that his wife and children were protected and provided for. Larry lived each day to the fullest. He enjoyed playing softball, camping, backpacking, horseback riding, fishing, deer hunting, pheasant hunting, duck hunting and just spending time with his family and friends. Whatever he did, he did it well. After moving to the little community of Waterloo, CA, in 1985, Larry dubbed himself "The Mayor of Waterloo". He especially looked forward  to Sunday family dinners with his granddaughters Elle and Phoebe Dare, where he would find out all the stories of how their week went. He was and always will be their biggest cheerleader and was always there to support them in any way he could, they were his joy. Larry was a lifetime member of the Stockton Sportsmen's Club, where he would win the "Silver Buckle" for trap shooting, beating out some of the best shooters in the club. He was a member of the Delta Dog Pointing Club, competing and judging many field trials; and member of the Camanche Hills Hunting Preserve. After an injury that would leave him paralyzed, he co-founded the Lame Duck Shooters at Cougar Wetlands Hunting Preserve for the physically challenged. He was very proud of this accomplishment and would enjoy many duck hunts and sunrises in the duck blind. Larry was a deep thinker and was always thinking of a way that would allow him to continue to do all the things he did before he was injured.. Thanks to his good buddies, he was able to fish, hunt, travel and enjoy life. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Lorraine Lackey, Norma Lackey, grandmother Edith Norton, uncle Bill Lackey, brothers Larry Chouinard and Dan Chouinard, and nephew Michael Dan Chouinard. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate Susan, daughters Nicolle Lackey, Tracci Lackey Dare, son-in-Law Jeff Dare, granddaughters Elle and Phoebe Dare, brother Jim Lackey, sister Dovie McCusker, cousin Chrissy Lackey, brothers-in law Joe Vigil (Sharon) and Nick Vigil (Diana) and nieces and nephews. Larry had a contagious laugh and beautiful smile which will be etched in our hearts forever. His family invites you to join them in celebration of his life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 10 a.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in the Vineyard Chapel. Nicole Winans

July 26, 1981 - December 6, 2024

Nicole Marie Winans, 43, of Woodbridge, passed away on Friday, December 6th, 2024 Nicole was born in Stockton California on July 26th, 1981, and spent most of her life in the Stockton-Lodi area. Nicole worked as a hostess and server assistant at Cottage Bakery in Lodi and attended Woodruff Cosmetology School in Stockton while in her junior and senior year at Lodi High School. She graduated from Lodi High School in 1999 as an Honor Roll Student. Following graduation, she received her cosmetology license and worked as a hairdresser at Supercuts and Salon 101 in downtown Lodi. In 2010, she became the proud owner of a full-service salon and boutique in a prime area of downtown Lodi which she named Salon Envy and Boutique. Nicole's professional career reflected 25 years in the beauty industry. It was obvious that Nicole was destined to be in the beauty industry when she started styling her dolls hair at a young age. She always had a great sense of style whether it was hair, makeup, clothing or decorating her home

At eight years old Nicole became a big sister to her brother John, and she loved helping to care for him. Growing up she took tap, jazz and hip-hop dance classes. She was an exceptional swimmer, and played softball, piano and the flute. She enjoyed vacationing with the family at her grandparents' cabin in Bear Valley where she could show off her snow skiing skills in the winter. She picked it up right away and would glide downhill passing everyone without a care in the world. In the summer at Bear Valley, she liked swimming, fishing and going to the music festivals. Her annual summer birthday party bashes in her grandparents' backyard were always fun for family and friends. Her favorite birthday cake was glazed orange chiffon, and she requested it every year.

When Nicole had children of her own, she carried on with the backyard birthday party tradition for her son Brody and her daughter Presley. She also loved hosting the holidays, decorating her home to the hilt at Christmas and spoiling her kids with loads of gifts. Nicole enjoyed attending concerts (especially Brantley Gilbert), going to Lake Tahoe and spending time at the beaches in Hawaii, Monterey and Santa Cruz.

Nicole was born beautiful inside and out. She always strived to reach her goal and never gave up. She had a beautiful son, daughter and stepdaughter, a thriving business, and many close relatives and friends. She was loved by all, and she will be missed by all.

Nicole was preceded in death by her father Homer J. Clark, Jr. (AKA Michael), her grandfather Homer J. Clark, her grandmother Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Johnston, her grandfather William E. DuBois and her grandmother Melba L. DuBois. She is survived by her son Brody T. Winans of Lodi, her daughter Presley M. Winans of Lodi, her stepdaughter Madison M. Winsey of Woodland , her brother John T. Meurrier of Sonora, her mother Michelle M. Meurrier of Lodi, and her stepfather Joe K. Meurrier 11 of Lodi.
