Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Wikoff family.
Karen J. Wikoff, PhD of Stockton passed away suddenly on Sunday, April 29, 2018. Karen was born in Castro Valley, CA on August 7, 1956. And lived in Hayward then moved to Lodi in 1971. She graduated from Lodi Academy as a member of the class of 1974. Karen went to Pacific Union College where she received her Associates degree in nursing before obtaining a Bachelor of Science from Walla Walla College. She worked as a nurse in various capacities over the years and continued her education in nursing. She received her Master’s degree from Cal State Fullerton and finally her Doctorate of Philosophy in Nursing from San Diego State University. Karen married her husband Jim Wikoff in 1991 and together adopted two boys. She continued working as a nurse in many areas of the Western U.S. including Monument Valley, San Diego and teaching at Stanislaus State University, Turlock. Currently she was employed by San Joaquin Laser and Surgery Center as the Director of Nursing. Karen enjoyed swimming, collecting Panda Bears and shoes (which was a problem in the 70’s with only one shoe store in town), decorating, knitting and recently making glass beads. She was a member of the English Oaks Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Karen is preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2002 and her father Calvin Luther in 2009.
Survivors include: Two sons, Robert Wikoff of Susanville, CA and Jesse Wikoff of San Diego, CA, Three stepsons, Jonathan Wikoff of Marysville, WA, Kevin Wikoff of Colorado and Kurtis Wikoff of Washington as well as one stepdaughter Jennifer Jacobson of Hayward, CA, 10 grandchildren, her mother Joan Luther of Stockton, two brothers David Luther of Columbia and Craig Luther of Lockeford as well as many loving Aunts, Uncles, Nieces and Nephews.

Pete was born in Santa Paula, CA and raised in Stockton, CA. He attended Commodore Stockton High, where later he became the owner of Golden Castle Grocery. During World War II Pete enlisted in the Army Air Corp., from 1943 to 1945 serving the 456th Bombardment as an Aerial Gunner, later becoming a Staff Sergeant where he received several medals for aerial combat. After the war he returned to Stockton where met and married Mary Elias (deceased). During this time he was a truck driver for Delta Lines for 35 years,. Pete is survived by his daughters, Sandra Smith (Robert deceased), Anita Solorio (Jess), and Eleana Meraz. Devoted grandfather to Leilani Smith, Laura, Seneca, Jessy Soloria, Ruben and Marisa Cortez. Also survived by 14 great-grand children and two great-great grandsons, many nieces, nephews, and close family members. He is preceded in death by his daughter Ruth.
