There are no words to express the loss that she will leave in our family.Sylvia was famous for being very meticulous with her clothing to her cars. She enjoyed sports and excelled in all of them. Sylvia loved the outdoors and went camping when ever she could. She also had a special connection with children with the most recent teaching her special friend Maddy, age 9 how to skateboard. Dale Wolford passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, January 11, 2019.

Dale was born July 23, 1957, in Oakland, California, to Wallace and Jane Wolford.  He came early and came with an unexpected surprise – a twin brother.  Dale and his brother were children number 3 and number 4 of six.  Dale’s family moved to Ohio for a few years when he was 7.  They returned to California and settled in Castro Valley.

Dale was an avid Boy Scout and made Eagle Scout when he was just 13.  His favorite part of scouting was the  hiking and backpacking.  He loved the hiking through Yosemite and Lake Tahoe and the challenge of the 50-milers.  He enjoyed working at the Diamond O Boy Scout camp in Yosemite in the summers.  He always supported the Boy Scouts as an adult.

Dale’s other love was scuba diving.  He and his brother Paul took scuba diving lessons as teens and learned underwater photography.  Dale and Paul spent many weekends scuba diving in Monterey and practicing their underwater photography.  Dale also loved to dive in Hawaii and Florida and the Channel Islands.

Dale met his lifelong partner, Ann, in high school and they were married in 1982.  They enjoyed 37 years of married life filled with lots of adventures, travel and love.   He was so happy when they adopted their daughter Caitlin in 1993. He enjoyed fatherhood and she was his pride and joy

In 1991, he started his own company A & D Rubber Products and ran it out of his garage initially.  Today, 28 years later, it is still going strong.  It became a family affair with both his wife and daughter working with him in the business.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents Jane and Wallace Wolford.  He is survived by his wife Ann, his daughter Caitlin, his sisters Lynn Dinstell (Steve) and Tracy Leinen (Mark) and his brothers Lester, Jack, Paul (Marrianne) and his nieces Laura, Jenna and Megan and nephews Kevin, Ian, Corey and Jack.
