Ida Nixon

October 5, 1924 - November 18, 2019

Ida Bell Nixon, age 95, passed away on November 18, 2019. Ida was born on October 5, 1924 in Arkansas to Henry Owen and Cora Kenney. She was married to the James Nixon for 54 years. Ida was a member of the Christian Life Center and drove the bus for the Linden High School for 20 years. She enjoyed making quilts and knitting.

Ida is survived by children, James Olen Nixon, Charles Nixon, Stanley Nixon; grandchildren: Tim Nixon, Tracy Nixon, Tara Gonzalez, AJ Nixon, Natalie Nixon, Angela Nixon, Scotty Guthrie, Christy Odum, Nicle Nixon Holguin, and Travis Nixon.

She is preceded in death by husband James Nixon; children, Delta Kay Nixon and Regina Nixon Martinez.

Service
A service for Ida will take place at 10:00am on Friday, November 22, 2019 at the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Stanley Thomas

February 26th, 1940 - November 16th, 2019

Stanley Alden Thomas
Stan entered into eternal life on November 16, 2019 to be with his parents, Beverly and Alden, and his brother Richard. He was the beloved husband of Marion for 57 years, the devoted father of Curtis and his wife Crystal, Bruce and his wife Diane, Laura, and Marcie (Marcella), and the loving grandfather of Alyssa, Matthew, Nick, Casey, and Shelby. He was born on February 26, 1940 in Quincy, CA at the Plumas County Hospital and was the eldest son of Beverly and Alden Thomas and was the oldest brother to Richard and Jerry. He was raised in the small railroad town of Keddie during its heyday, (population about 300) and spent his days hiking, swimming, shooting and playing the sports of the season. Stan had a love and talent for all sports, starting at first base on the QHS varsity baseball team and also starting on the 1958 championship basketball team at point guard. Later, he even was selected for several all-star baseball teams while serving in the Army. His service in the Army also lead to his greatest achievement. While serving on a Nike missile base, Stan would drive for hours on his days off from his station in Maine to spend time in East Hampton, Connecticut, where he had met his lifetime sweetheart, Marion DiStefano. Soon after leaving the Army and getting married, they packed their 56 Chevy convertible and went on a transcontinental journey across the US back to Stan’s roots of Quincy, CA to follow in his father’s footsteps working for the Western Pacific/Union Pacific Railroad. After a few years, Stan and Marion decided to take a better job with the WP in Stockton, CA, where they made their permanent home and raised their family. He worked for the railroad for over 44 years as a Brakeman/Conductor. Stan continued to satisfy his love for sports, playing golf as often as he could at Swenson along with outings to many links throughout Northern California and the US. Also a big sports fan, Stan was a season ticket holder for the University of the Pacific basketball team, cheering them in victory and defeat while loudly critiquing the local referees. Stan loved the outdoors and never lost his love for his roots, returning to the Sierra of his Pioneer and Maidu ancestor’s homeland whenever possible. He enjoyed motorcycle road trips and camping excursions to Yosemite and Buck’s Lake with family and friends. Folklore has it that when the lights dimmed and the generators hummed at the Thomas and Migliori campsite, there was a mini-camper migration to enjoy one of those Stan or Gene margaritas. Nothing was more important or special to him then spending time with his family.

James Grimes

March 27, 1942 - November 16, 2019

James (Jim) Grimes Dad, Grandpa, Husband, and Friend

James Carlyle Grimes was born on March 27, 1942 in Stockton, California to Harold and Harriet Grimes. Jim was with his family when he went home to be with the Lord on November 16, 2019. Jim was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling on new adventures with his best friend and wife of 56 years, Thelma Grimes. Jim’s kids, Tammy Grimes and Russell Taylor-Grimes, and daughter-in-law Jennifer, will miss sharing time listening to his many stories around the campfire. Kellee Grimes will miss her grandpa’s smiles, annual camping trips, hikes, sleepovers, and Mickey Mouse pancakes. Jim is also survived by his brothers Richard Grimes, Robert Grimes, and their wives Sandy and Lita, respectively. Jim was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Harriet Grimes.
SERVICE
A celebration of Jim’s life will be held at First Baptist Church of Lodi 267 N. Mills Avenue Lodi, CA at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday November 26, 2019.

Catalina Jimenez

February 13, 1934 - November 16, 2019

Catalina Jimenez passed away November 16, 2019. Loving wife of Nicolas Jimenez of 38 years. Proceeded in death by Pedro Sanchez, Sr. Mother of Robert (Toni) Sanchez, Edward (Linda) Sanchez, Alice (Louis) Avila, Elena (Daniel) Limon. Proceeded in death by children Anita Sanchez and Pedro Sanchez. Grandmother of 17, Great Grandmother of 33, Great-Great Grandmother of 4. Retired from General Mills in 1988. She enjoyed yelling BINGO and trips to Jackson. She loved knitting and crocheting while watching her novelas. She will be missed by her fur babies, Muneca, Chache, and Lulu.

VISITATION AND SERVICE
Visitation and services will be held on Thursday, November 21st, 2019 from 12:00p.m. noon - 6:00p.m. with a service starting at 4:00p.m. at the Vineyard Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd.

James Bennett

James G.Bennett has passed. He was born on February 8, 1958, to Gordon and Aiko Bennett. He had a wonderful life filled with lots of memories! He is survived by his children Hayley Bennett-Miller, Kurt James Bennett and Mychelle Mozqueda. Along with 4-beautiful grandchildren. Sisters Christine Reville, Tina Castro, and brother Dean. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, family and friends! We will miss you brother, but know that you are free!

Robert Ellis Jr.

September 26, 1934 - November 12, 2019

Robert A. Ellis, Jr. September 26, 1934 - November 12, 2019 Robert (Bob) Ellis, Jr. was born on September 26, 1934 in Lodi, CA. The son of Robert A. ("Salty") Ellis, Sr. and Ethel (Griesner) Ellis.He attended Grant Elementary School and Edison High School in Stockton. He died on November 12, 2019 at the age of 85. After brief employment with Standard Oil of California in Squaw Valley, California, Bob returned to Stockton to join his dad who had started California Tank Line, Inc. Bob started working at the company changing truck tires, greasing trucks and driving trucks throughout California. He worked his way into management and took over California Tank Line and Chemical Transfer, Inc., building the companies into leaders in the chemical hauling business. Bob loved anything mechanical: trucks (of course), an airplane (with his dad), motorcycles, snow mobiles and especially boats. He owned several boats, the last one being a Hatteras long range cruiser, "Salty I", named after his dad. He and his wife, Barbara, spent extended vacations on the boat in the bay area, plus trips to the San Juan Islands, WA and British Columbia, Canada. Bob loved working on his engine room, which he kept in immaculate condition. Bob was a member of Stockton Golf & Country Club and was a past commodore of Delta Yacht Club. In his early years, he enjoyed camping and fishing with his three sons, his cabin on Highway 108 in the Sierras, boating, travel, but especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara (Ohm) Ellis; three sons, Robert Ellis, III (Carol), Michael (Coleen) Ellis and Neal Ellis; his grandchildren, Mitch (Heather) Ellis, Haley (Alex) Lepper and Vanessa Ellis and his great-grandchildren, Olivia Ellis, Benjamin Ellis, Madelyn Lepper, Walter Gundle, Aiden Lepper and Benjamin Gundle. Bob is also survived by two stepchildren and a sister.

A private funeral for immediate family will be held on November 24, 2019 at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at 2:30PM on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at Stockton Golf & Country Club, 3800 Country Club Blvd, Stockton, CA 95204.

Glenard Baltzer

May 15, 1931 - November 9, 2019

Glenard Clayton Baltzer, 88, of Lodi, Ca, passed away on November 9, 2019 in Stockton, Ca. Glen was born in Lehr, North Dakota to John and Regina Baltzer on May 15, 1931. He worked for the City of Lodi Municipal Service Department for 40 years, starting as a laborer and working his way up to the position of Street Superintendent, a position he held for many years receiving many State and local awards and recognitions. Glen was also very active with and served on the board of directors for the Lodi Grape Festival. He was an avid fisherman. He and Claire spent many summers at Silver Lake camping and fishing with friends and family as well as travelling extensively across the United States and abroad.
He was a veteran, serving in the United States Army, honorably discharged in 1962 as a cryptographer with commendations for Marksman, Sharp Shooter and Good Conduct Medals.
Glen is preceded in death by his Mother and Father, as well as his brothers and sisters. Glen is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Claire J Baltzer; sons, Douglas (Suzanne) Hensel of Lodi, Michael (Jonelle) Baltzer of Lodi and John Baltzer of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; along with 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
SERVICE
The graveside service for Glenard will be held on Tuesday, November 19th, 2019 at 1:00pm at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240. Pastor Steve Newman of First Baptist Church of Lodi will be officiating.
