Retired Fire Chief Douglas Ratto, 80, passed away on December 7th, 2019.

He was born February 19th, 1939 in Stockton to the late John and Bernice Ratto. After graduation in Stockton, California, Douglas joined the Marine Corps in 1956 and was honorably discharged in 1960 as Corporal E-4. He became a firefighter with the Lincoln Fire Department until 1965, when he then joined the Stockton Fire Department and retired as fire chief in 2002. In his 17 years of retirement, Douglas continued to be a strong member of his community, serving as President of Stockton Professional Firefighters Local #1229 for several years. He was also a member of the Metro Fire Chiefs, the Elks Lodge #218, Stockton Rotary, the Sierra Club, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and the San Joaquin Golf and Country Club.

He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather to his wife, Kathy Ratto; his children, Brian Ratto, Christi Perez (Mario), and Julie Montagna (Ray); his brother Robert Ratto (Rod); and his grandchildren Jonathan Gatto, Ryan Ratto, Sara Bissani (Michael), Kelsee Montagna, Anthony Ratto, Tyler Johnson and Rylee Montagna. He was predeceased by his father John Ratto, his mother Bernice Ratto, his brother Gregory Ratto and his stepson Jimmy Johnson.

SERVICE
A service will be held 11:00am on Monday, December 16th, 2019 at The Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial in Lodi, CA. Those wishing, in lieu of flowers, may make a charitable contribution in Douglas’ memory to Stockton Firefighters Memorial P.O. box 69-2201 Stockton, California 95269.


 
 

James Willis

August 12, 1937 - December 7, 2019

James W. Willis passed away on December 7, 2019 in Stockton at the age of 82. He was born on August 12, 1937 to Jessie and Vesta Ida Moore Willis in Autauga County, Alabama. He served his country, honorably, in the U.S. Army, and worked as a Tire Retread specialist for 35 years. James was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Virginia Marie; brother, J D Willis; and sisters, Sybil McLean and Kathryn Rasmussen. He is survived by his wife, Henrietta Willis; sons, Kenneth (Roxane) Willis and George Willis; grandson, Alex Willis; and sisters, Vivian Hollis of FL, and Esther Mae Chappelle of AL.

SERVICE
A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 16th, 2019 at 1:30p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Peter Araquistain

July 22, 1950 - December 6, 2019


Peter (Pete) native Stocktonian and son of Peter and Barbara Araquistain, passed away at home with family at his side at the age of 69.
Peter attended August Elem., Fremont Jr High and graduate of Franklin High School. He met his loving wife & best friend, Holly in 1970 and married on Feb. 24, 1973. Retired journeyman painter of 24yrs at MDUSD in Concord. Founding member 1978 Waterloo Fantasy Football League. Lifetime fan of SF 49ers & Giants. Enjoyed golf, fishing, woodcarving, songwriting, & avid card player. Peter was a loving grandfather who supported all of his grandchildren’s sports and school activities. Always expressing his love to all who knew him. The rock of our family's foundation. Who loved the Lord and knew he was in God’s hands and plans.
He was predeceased by his parents, and brother Robert Araquistain.
Peter is survived by his adoring wife, Holly, loving children Kimberly (Joseph) Araquistain-Estrada, Aaron (Michelle) Araquistain and Allen (Lydia) Periman. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Joseph, John, Julianna and Janessa Estrada. Clay, Ariel, Aaron Araquistain, and Allen Periman III. Great-grandchild Rosalinda Estrada (Rosebud). Brother Larry (Donna)Araquistain, sister in laws Linda Meyling and Diana Araquistain, Cousins Sandra Ashe (Wayne) loving nieces, nephews and extended family.
Our sincerest gratitude to the medical staff of St Joseph’s Hospital, Clearwater H/C and Hospice of S.J. Who’s care exemplified sincerity of their profession.

Services:
A service will be held on Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 1:00p.m. at the Wesleyan Evangelical Church, located at 2627 E. Poplar Street, Stockton CA, 95205.

Clarrisa Daniels

July 10, 1926 - December 1, 2019

Clarrisa Elizabeth Daniels passed away peacefully on December 1, 2019 at the age of 93. She was born at Deer, Arkansas on July 10th, 1926. During her lifetime she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker, and also worked at Diamond Walnut Growers for many years as a Quality Control Inspector until she retired in 1985.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ira and Mary Millsaps, her sister Emma Jane Millsaps, and her brother James Millsaps.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 73 years, Loren C. Daniels, her devoted daughter Debra Daniels Berdion (and son-in-law Kenneth Berdion), her loving granddaughters, Lori (Guadagnolo) Ruegsegger and Gina Guadagnolo, her two adoring great-grandchildren, Abbigail Ruegsegger and Carson Ruegsegger, and her loving sister, Ava F. Phillips.

She had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Stockton since 1981, and served along with her husband Loren as a Greeter and an Usher for many years, and was also a member of the Crusaders Sunday School Class.

SERVICE
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the Chapel at First Baptist Church of Stockton, 3535 N. El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA, 95204.
