Della Badeker

May 14, 1935 - January 19, 2021

Della Ann Badeker, 85, died peacefully at home on January 19, 2021 surrounded by her family. Della was preceded in death by her mother, husband & numerous other family members. She is survived in life by her son, Michael Cash of Idaho; daughter, Kathi Alberg of Lodi, Ca.; and daughter, Terilynn Gudino of Oakland, CA. She was blessed to have 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Della was a long time resident of Lodi, Ca. She was a member of Lodi Calvary Church and daughter of the Lord Jesus Christ until joining her savior. She spent many years caring for others while working at Lodi Memorial Hospital. Later in life she joined the Lodi Police Dept. Partners. She spent many years supporting the officers who protect the city and people she loved. In the years just prior to her passing, she continued to serve her community and help deliver Meals on Wheels.

Edwin Ring

August 01, 1926 - January 19, 2021

Edwin Laverne Ring, 94, was born to Gust and Lydia Ring in Sykeston, North Dakota on August 1, 1926. His faith in Jesus Christ became a reality on January 19, 2021.
He is the 4th of 9 children. Survived by his sweetheart, Esther Ring. In love for 74 years. They had 3 children, Dennis (deceased) Ring, David (Shelley) Ring and Donna Ring. He is also survived by his sisters, Darlene McDonald, Vivian Rostomily and Betty Lee; brother, Ben Ring; grandchildren, Ryan Rader, Katrina and Stacey Ring, and Ericka (Joey) Campbell, Craig and Chris Ring and Alyssa (Matt Neilson; along with 7 great grandchildren.
He worked as a plumber for 30 years, retired at 55. Took up hobbies such as traveling, making matchbook buildings and he loved to fish.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to LOEL Center of Lodi or the Salvation Army.

A visitation will be held from 9:00am - 12:00pm on Wednesday February 3, 2021 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240.

Margaret Lockhart

May 18, 1929 - January 18, 2021

Margaret Lucille Lockhart passed away on Monday, January 18, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born on May 18, 1929 to Darrell and Florence Metzgus.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Ian Dwight Lockhart.

Marge was born in Stockton, California, but raised in Santa Rosa. She had fond memories of visiting her grandparents' homestead in Pistol River, OR, taking the ferryboat to San Francisco each year to see the Ice Follies, her first ride across the newly built Golden Gate Bridge and attending the 1939 World Fair at Treasure Island. She had vivid memories of the effects of WWII on her family and friends, but also the many good times spent at the ocean with her family.

Marge married Ian in December of 1948. They moved to Stockton in the early 50's, which is where they raised their four children, whom in her words were "the most important thing to her". She worked with her husband at their family business, Lockhart Seeds, Inc., was Past President of Stockton Credit Women of NACM, Chairman of the Agriculture Branch of NACM, member of Women for Agriculture, member of ELKS Lodge #218 and Past President of the Iris Club.

Marge and Ian loved to travel and did so extensively, visiting thirty-eight of the fifty states as well as countless countries and islands across the globe, Hawaii being their favorite. She had an incredible memory and would enthusiastically recount stories from her many trips in amazing detail, to the delight of her family and friends. She also treasured their annual trips to hunting camp in Idaho. Marge enjoyed playing the piano, folk dancing, square dancing, sewing and gardening, and never forgot her beloved dogs, Johnny and Comanche.

Marge will be remembered as a happy and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and cherished friend, and as the family Historian. She loved a good party and was happiest when surrounded by friends and family. She was well loved and will be missed by so many.

She is survived by her four children, Nancy J. Cancilla and husband Charles, Ian G. Lockhart and wife Sandra, Randall K. Lockhart, and Kirk P. Lockhart; four grandchildren, Vincent Cancilla, Jaime Lockhart Kembel (Corbin), Lindsay Lockhart Haugland (Tycer) and Leslie Lockhart Collins (Josh), and two great-grandchildren, Reid Jacob Kembel and Blake Lucille Kembel.

Per Marge's request, there will not be a public service. She will be interned privately beside her beloved husband at Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery in Lodi. Memorial Contributions may be made to a charity of choice.

Amy Dimas-Caughell

July 4, 1917 - January 18, 2021

Amy was born July 4, 1971 in French Camp, California and passed away peacefully on January 18, 2021 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Stockton, California.

Amy is survived by her husband Phil K. Caughell, Sr.; her son Ryan H. Dimas-Flores (8); parents Celestino “Rick” and Rosemarie Dimas; brother Angelo Dimas (Carolyn) of Modesto, sister-in-law Charlene Cortez (Mauriso) and father-in-law Robert (Bob) Caughell of Tracy; stepson Phillip K. Caughell, Jr.  Amy is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, god children and numerous friends. 

Amy joined our family with a bang on the 4th of July.  She truly enjoyed each birthday celebration with parade participation, picnic, baseball game and fireworks. She loved to sing and dance as she drove down the road entertaining Ryan.  Amy was raised and instilled with a strong work ethics.  She began her work career at an early age of 16, earning for her own expenses working first as a babysitter, department store clerk and cashier.

While all the time achieving high academic marks in school.  She attended King Elementary, St. Gertrude’s and San Joaquin Middle School, Edison High School class of 1989.  That senior year she was awarded MVP on girls’ softball team. She graduated San Joaquin Delta class of 1991 AA degree.  California State University Stanislaus class of 2001 obtaining her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology.  University of Phoenix class of 2006, achieving her master’s degree in Sociology and Counseling.

Her professional work career began with San Joaquin County Worknet, Employment Training Specialist; Mental Health Clinician BHS, House Therapist Residential Treatment Programs; Doctors Behavioral Health Center Inpatient Clinician; S.J. County Inpatient Mental Health Clinician/Forensics Department; Aegis Treatment Center Counselor.

But even with her accomplishments, her most cherished was becoming a mother to her son Ryan in 2012.  He was everything to her, she beamed with such motherly pride.  It was he who gave her the will to continue with her struggle with a diabetes condition over 23 years, which lead to renal failure which placed her onto dialysis treatments for her last 2 years.  She fought thru these sessions on a daily basis.  It truly took all her spiritual and physical strength.  She was tested with several inpatient hospital stays. Amy enjoyed summer camping trips with her extended family of aunt, uncles, and cousins.  Swimming and hiking throughout the day and nightly campfires and the sharing of stories of years passed by her elders.  She so loved playing softball with her aunts and cousins on the family ladies team ” Dimas Dames”.

Amy was a member of the Karl Ross Post American Legion Auxiliary Unit 16, and when possible would participate in the year round Post activities with her Auxiliary sisters.

Amy is predeceased by grand-parents: Celestino and Rose Dimas,l ray and Emil Martinez, several aunts; Grace, Arlene, Helen, Margaret Lydia; uncles; Michael Ray, Al, Jerry, Anthony, Joe and Ben.  Cousins; James, Ivan, Roland, Valarie, Erin and nephew baby Angelo C. Dimas

Graveside services will take place outside the Garden of Angels, Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, CA.  Monday February 1, 2021 at 1:30pm  A celebration of life will take place at a later date when we can all safely gather and share our memories.

Felix Lonzanida Jr.

October 25, 1948 - January 18, 2021

Felix Lucero Lonzanida Jr. was born October 25, 1948 in Zambales, Philippines to Felix Lonzanida Sr. and Remedios L. Lonzanida. Oldest of 7 children and brother to Joven, Arnold, Lorna, Elisa, Irene, and Emelyn, he entered into heaven on January 18, 2021.

Felix immigrated to the United States in 1970. A longtime resident of Stockton, California, he attended Humphreys College and married his wife of 46 years, Minda. He then enlisted in the United States Army and served for 10 years. After the military, he worked for the United States Postal Service and later started his own painting business, Felonz Painting.

Felix enjoyed simple pleasures: Bowling, playing poker, BBQing his famous tri-tip, and watching his favorite football team, the San Francisco 49ers. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his daughters and grandchildren.

Not only was Felix a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, he will be most remembered for being humble, generous and welcoming.

Felix is survived by his wife Minda, daughters Michelle (Ronald), Tanya, and Samantha, and his 10 grandchildren: Tajah, Drew, Elani, Arianna, Julius, Liam, Gabriel, Kamryn, Isaiah, and Akoni.

Ronald Cromwell

September 17, 1930 - January 17, 2021

Ronald Gene Cromwell passed away unexpectedly on January 17, 2021 at the age of 90.  He was born on September 17, 1930 to Loren and Elda Cromwell in Lodi, CA.  Ron graduated from Lodi Union High School in 1948.  He enlisted in the Air Force and served part of his four-year tour in Germany.  In his younger years he enjoyed boating, water skiing and fast cars.  He was a machinist by trade, and there wasn’t much he couldn’t fix      

Ron is survived by his wife of 37 years Candice Ohlhauser, his brother Lyle Cromwell and sisters Carolyn Peterson and Henrietta Felion.  He was predeceased by his parents and brothers, Charles and Gerald Cromwell.

Fred Podesta

August 1, 1936 - January 16, 2021

Fred was born August 1, 1936 in Stockton, CA and passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021 at home in Linden, CA.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Adeline Podesta, his wife of 48 years marriage, Patricia Podesta, his son Joseph Avansino, and his first wife Tanya Archer Podesta. He is survived by his sons Fred Podesta III (Beth), James Avansino (Ann), Victor Podesta (Monica), daughter Tara Bryant (Scott), and daughter in law Leslie Avansino; grandchildren Jessica Costigliolo (Jason), Freddy Podesta IV, Gianna Goins (James), Becca Cruse (Colton), Victor Podesta Jr., Gina Podesta, Nicole Podesta, Brooke Bryant, Mia Bryant, Andrew Avansino, Paul Avansino, and five great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Marie Dal Porto (predeceased by brother-in-law Albert Dal Porto Sr.) and Irma Flor (Dino). Fred is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and leaves behind many lifelong friends he considered family.

Fred was raised in Linden, CA and graduated from Linden High School. He started working with his father on the family farm in Bellota, where his love of farming was born. This would be the pathway for the rest of his life, a passion he shared with his family.

Fred enjoyed cooking with family and friends. Many times, he would cook and cater for charities, clubs, and events with Patti. Friends and family were always welcome into Fred and Patti's home, whether it was at their cabin in Arnold, vacation home in Indio, or at their home in Bellota. He enjoyed traveling, NASCAR, and especially being a part of his children and grandchildren's endeavors. He was a member of numerous agricultural associations throughout the years. Fred was also an icon in the equestrian world where he owned and trained many world class show jumping champions.

Fred's true passion was farming. Fred was known throughout the state for his knowledge and ability to grow bell peppers, peaches, pears, cherries, asparagus, walnuts, grapes, and much more. When Fred was not farming for the family business, Podesta Farms, he loved working in his garden and raising animals.

Fred was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.

A special thank you to the many caregivers touching Fred's life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions in his name to the Linden Peters Volunteer Firefighters or a charity of choice.

A celebration of Fred's life will take place at a later date when we all can safely gather and share our memories.

Ivan Suess

July 26, 1929 - January 16, 2021

van LaVern Suess was born in Alberta, Canada on July 26, 1929, to Edwin and Freda Suess (Hildenbrand). His lifelong proclamation of faith in Jesus Christ became his reality on January 16, 2021, with his wife of nearly 67 years, Wilda Suess holding his hand. Ivan had battled with Congestive Heart Failure and Pneumonia for several months and died at age 91.

His family moved to Lodi, California in 1941 where he attended local schools and graduated from Lodi High School in 1947. Ivan attended Delta College of Stockton, CA and Bethany Bible College of San Francisco, CA. Ivan began a life-time of service by enlisting in the Air Force in 1950. During that time he met the love of his life Wilda Drost, a nursing student in Bangor, Maine and they were married in 1954, following his honorable discharge.

Ivan is survived by his wife, Wilda Suess, two sons Kerry (Tammy) Suess, Kevin (Vanessa) Suess; grandchildren Christopher (Sidra) Suess, Kyle (Anna) Suess, Evan Suess, Ian Suess, Ryan Clem, Haley (Brett) Felkins; great grandchildren, Saliha Suess and Aiza Suess. Ivan is also survived by his brothers Kelly (Calvin) Suess of Lodi and Virgil Suess of Florida. Ivan was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister.

Ivan began his working career for the RCA - Victor Company from 1955 - 1964. He then opened Ivan's Clothing for Boys, which he owned and operated from 1964 - 1978. Ivan obtained his real estate license and began his real estate career in 1978, as an agent with Katzakian & Schaffer Realtors and secured his Real Estate Brokers License in 1982. In 1983 he formed a partnership with Ben Schaffer and Ken Boyd called Schaffer Suess & Boyd Realtors.

He later partnered with Randy Snider as SSB Realtors and became the largest real estate firm based solely in Lodi with over 60 agents at one time. Ivan and Randy eventually sold their business in 2006. Although since semi-retired Ivan still served on a number of local boards and committees. Ivan loved Lodi and has a history of service and dedication to the community.

He served his Savior through his contributions to several local churches, Century Assembly, Radiant Life, and Vinewood Community. He also organized and co-led community HymnSings in his later years. Ivan shared his talents in many capacities as a song leader, playing the trumpet and tuba, serving as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, mentor and counselor to many. He was the Master of Ceremonies at many weddings and was always willing to serve others. He was very generous with his time, resources and had many friends.

There is no way to document all of his contributions. Lodi District Chamber of Commerce Past President; Tokay High School Bond Election, Co – Chairman with Kelly Suess; Lodi Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors; Lodi Boosters of Boys Sports Board of Directors; San Joaquin County United Way Regional Chairman; Lodi Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award; Salvation Army Board of Directors; California State Auto Association Board of Directors; California Association of Realtors; Regional Vice President; Hutchins Street Square Board of Directors Charter Member; Lodi Association of Realtors Hall of Fame; Lodi Community Hall of Fame; LOEL Foundation Past President and Board Member.

A Public Viewing will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park, Vineyard Chapel from 9am – 12 pm on Thursday January 28, 2021 with interment service for family at 1 pm in The Chapel of Flowers.
A Memorial Service will be held at Faith Community Church at 1 pm, Saturday February 6, 2021. A Live Stream will be available at www.FaithLodi.org/watchnow

Kathleen Sunday

November 16, 1952 - January 16, 2021

Kathleen Ann (Nickles) Sunday, age 68, of Clements, died Saturday January 16, 2021 peacefully at her home. She was surrounded by her husband Keevan, son Matt, daughter Julie and her granddaughter Scarlett.

Kathleen was born November 16, 1952 in San Matteo, CA, daughter of Edward and Barbara (McClintock) Nickels. The had lived in Hayward, CA until she finished her Sophomore year at Sunset High School then moved to Fremont where she then attended Mission San Jose High School.

She met and then married Keevan Sunday, they had two children together. In the beginning of their marriage they lived in Newark, CA, for a short time then moved to Carson City, NV. After about a year and a half they moved to Livermore, CA. Whilst living in Livermore she enjoyed playing on league and coed softball teams. She also enjoyed riding horses and has owned several over the years. After living in Livermore for many years they decided to move to Clements, CA and have settled there for the last 34+ years. There she was employed at Lodi Memorial Hospital for about 18 years as medical claims billing rep. She was an amazing supporter of her kids while they had rode horses and competed in the Mokelumne Mounties Drill Team, High School and Junior Rodeos. She loved her family, her cats, dogs and horses. She was an avid supporter in animal rescues. She also loved planting and maintaining her flower garden. She will be missed by everyone that has ever known her.

She is survived by her husband, Keevan Sunday of Clements; son Matt (Robyn) Sunday of Spring Creek, NV and daughter Julie (Rick) McKay; and granddaughter Scarlett McKay of Los Angeles, CA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Carol Nickles and grandson Clayton Sunday.

Cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
