Born in Delaplane Arkansas, July 24, 1937, Shirley Ann Mustain had little money, but plenty of spirit. As a young girl she played with the boys; kickball and baseball were among her favorite sports. Although she was a “Tomboy” as a child, she grew up to be a “Dream Girl”, “Doll Face”, a.k.a. A “Babe”! She adored being around people and loved, loved, loved being the center of attention. She moved with her family to California in the early 1940’s; married in 1956 and had 2 daughters. She divorced in 1985.
Shirley had a keen sense of design and had many crafty talents and accomplishments, which included sewing, painting, upholstering, knitting and southern cooking. She also had many educational accomplishments. Shirley had Certificates of Proficiency in Bookkeeping, Real Estate, and Legal Assistant. She held a degree in Horticulture, and as a “Master Gardener”, she could name every plant she encountered in both the common and Latin name.
In her later years she was considered once again a “Tomboy”. Shirley loved the mountains; riding her motorcycle on dirt trails, running her chainsaw and driving her tractor.
Shirley strongly believed in the Christian Spirit. She practiced her faith and attended church regularly, knowing she would one day be reunited with God. Shirley was truly “One of a Kind”. We will miss the very eclectic “Miss Shirley” and will remember her fondly.
Shirley had an amazing, full and grand life. She leaves behind 2 daughters; Tracy Graska, (Rod Koehn), Darcy Graska Brigham, (Brad), and Grandchildren Jake, Brooke and Paige Brigham.
