Denise Holbo

October 15, 1947 - March 08, 2021

Denise Kathleen Holbo passed away on Monday, March 8th in Stockton, CA. She passed away peacefully at home, with her husband by her side. Denise was born on October 15th, 1947 in Sacramento, CA to Mae Modin Sickert and Dean L Sickert.

Her childhood was spent in the small town of Ione, CA where she graduated from Ione High School with her lifelong friends. After a short time studying Psychology at Delta College in Stockton, she married her sweetheart, Stephen L Holbo, also of Ione. Together, they shared a beautiful love story, lasting for more than 50 years.

Denise's hobbies included gardening, cooking, bowling with friends, and playing a friendly game of  cards. Although taking small jobs in Stockton at Parklane Elementary and Westlane Bowl, her most valued job was that of a homemaker. Neighborhood kids would gather at her house after school because they knew that she was always home for any type of support.

Along with her husband Stephen L Holbo, Denise is survived by her children Stephen W Holbo of  Stockton and Deanna M Holbo Ferrari of Placerville, their respective spouses Marielena Holbo and Craig R Ferrari, grandchildren Amanda Holbo, Hannah Holbo, Stephen D Holbo, Antonia Ferrari, Sebastian  Holbo, Vincent Ferrari, and Aurelia Ferrari, great-grandchildren, CJ and Bella Cruz, her uncle Keith Sickert, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She will forever be remembered in our hearts as one of the kindest and generous souls who has ever walked upon this Earth.

Marjorie Nichols

October 29, 1925 - March 07, 2021

Marjorie Isabella Nichols passed away at 95 years young in Lodi on March 7, 2021. She was born in Lodi on October 29, 1925 to Olga and Christian Knittel. She married Elmer Nichols in 1944 and they remained together 73 years until 2017 when Elmer passed away. At the time she was married she worked for Reynolds Nailing Co. with her late brother George Knittel.

Marjorie enjoyed playing Bingo, going to the casinos, knitting, crocheting and sewing. She was always making something special for her family: afghans, sweaters, crocheted tablecloths, doilies, and baby clothes.

 She is survived by her 3 children: Dennis Nichols of Lodi, Gregory Nichols of Lodi, and Linda Nichols of Lockeford; 4 grandchildren: Jacob Nichols of Sacramento, Brian Nichols of Monterey, Cordell Abney of Houston, Texas, and Heather Nichols of Lodi; and 6 great-grandchildren: Kylha Nichols, Briana Abney, Weston Abney, Lucas Nichols, Henri Nichols, and Olivia Nichols.

 Private Graveside services will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park.

Craig Wells

February 27, 1959 - March 07, 2021

Craig W. Wells was born on February 27, 1959 in Stockton, California and passed away at the age of 62 on March 7, 2021. He passed away from complications from a fall attributed to Parkinson's.

Craig attended school in Stockton and graduated from Lincoln High, San Francisco State, and UOP with a Masters degree. He took great pride working with companies such as Oracle, Apple, Amgen, and others as a Corporate Recruiter. Health issues caused him to retire in 2016.

Running was his passion and he ran from high school until his health no longer allowed. Craig was an avid sports fan with the Cal Bears being his favorite. He also loved the SF Giants and 49ers. He will now have the best seat in the stadium.

Craig met his wife Lisa on August 1, 1986 and they were married a year to the day they met in 1987. They were married for 33 years. Together they raised two children, Jennifer and Nicklaus.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, William Wells, and Evelyn Wells Condell. He is survived by his wife, Lisa; daughter, Jennifer (Zak) Bruton; son, Nicklaus (Jessilyn) Wells; sister, Tami McGregor; and stepfather, Rodger Condell.

SERVICE
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 17th at 1:30 pm in the Garden of Freedom at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Betty J. Champion

In Loving Memory of Betty J. Champion,

On Tuesday, March 2, 2021, Betty, loving wife and mother of two children, passed away at home with her family by her side at age 94.

Betty was born on July 24, 1926 in Woodford, OK to Frank and Lottie (Rose) Williford. Betty lived an extraordinary life that spanned the world. Meeting her future husband and best friend Joe Champion in August of 1951 in Stockton, CA and married on January 12, 1952 in Las Vegas, NV.

From this point on Joe and Betty were inseparable, spending the next 69 years at each other’s side. Together they created a successful company that lasted for 20 years, Overseas Marketing Enterprisers where they traveled to Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan and Korea.

Betty also volunteered as an AIDS Counselor at San Joaquin County Health Department, where she was loved and respected for her contributions to the AIDS community. 

Betty was preceded in death by her father, Frank, her mother, Lottie and son Stephen. She is survived by her husband Joe, daughter Darla (Jeff) Moen, granddaughter, Melissa (Kevin) Corder; grandson Matthew Lewellen; and 6 great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 15, 2021 at 1:00 at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA.

Sergio Acosta, Jr.

Sergio Aaron Acosta Jr. was born March 3,1969 in French Camp CA, and lived his entire life in Stockton, CA. Sergio suddenly passed away on March 2nd a day shy of his 52nd Birthday. Sergio was a very loving, caring and funny guy who loved to make everyone laugh, as soon as he would see you he would greet with the biggest smile on his face and give you the biggest hug.

Some of Sergios favorite things to do was to be around his friends and family, cook, BBQ and listen to music and just have a good time, and of course he always had to mention how good his food was . Sergio leaves behind his parents Sergio Acosta Sr. (Ana) Christine Martinez, siblings

Monica (Dean) Ruben (Maria) Nanette (Chris) Peter ( Raeann) and son Aaron, several nieces,great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Sergio was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Our family has been left with a huge void with the sudden passing of Sergio and He will never be forgotten.

James Meyers

November 27, 1935 - March 01, 2021

Jim Meyers entered into eternal rest on March 1, 2021 at the age of 85, with his family at his side.

Jim was born in Fort Collins, Colorado. At the age of 3 his family came to California. He grew up in Lodi. He went to Lodi High School and in 1954 he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1956 he returned to Lodi where he lived the rest of his life.

In the summer of 1956 he met the love of his life Faye Litz. They were together for 65 wonderful years.
Jim's career was in construction. He was an Operating Engineer Local 3 member for 50 years. In retirement, Jim and Faye enjoyed traveling the U.S. in their motor home.

Jim was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He would do anything and everything for his family.
Jim was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Ann. Jim leaves behind his wife, Faye; two sons, Bryon Meyers and Herb Meyers (Tracy); three grandchildren, Danielle, Ryan and Daniel; and two great grandchildren, Logan and Ava.

A celebration of life will be held at First Baptist Church at 11:00 am on March 20th.

Darvin Geiszler

Darvin Delano Geiszler, 84, passed away on March 1, 2021.  He was born July 12, 1936 to Edwin T. and Helen R. Geizler in Lodi, CA.  He graduated from Lodi High in 1955.  He was drafted into the Army 1956 – 1958.  He worked at PCP Can Plant for 32 years.

After serving in the Army, Darvin married Mary J. Abersold.  They had two children, Cynthia Mari Sherek and Delanoe Jesse Geiszler.  He married his second wife, Betty, in 1983.  They enjoyed fishing and traveling together.

Darvin was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Delanoe; his grandson, Joseph Tyler and sister, Angelean Delores Andrade.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; daughter, Cynthia; brother, Donald Geiszler (Kathy); grandson, Justin Fried; granddaughters, Samantha Beach (Jason), Lacie Geiszler and Kathern Geiszler; 4 great grandchildren, Adrian, Marie, Marcellus and Ashton.  Also survived by several other nieces, nephews and cousins.  A special thank you to nephew Sanford Geiszler (Kristy) for his help and care in Darvin’s time of need.

Gabriel Christian Trigg

April 25, 1998 - February 27, 2021

Gabriel Christian Trigg passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on February 27th, 2021. Gabe’s sudden passing took place in his parents’ home in Lodi, California; he was only 22 years old. Gabe was born to Sgt. Jared W. and Chavala (Holli)Trigg on April 25th, 1998 in Fort Carson, Colorado. Thereafter, the family relocated to the military community of Fort Lewis, Washington where Gabe was raised and lived nearly half of his life.

Gabe was a natural athlete. He played ice hockey and wrestled up to age 9. Gabe also inherited a love for skateboarding from his dad. He spent his preteen and teen years skateboarding with his brother and good friends around Fort Lewis. Additionally, he developed a passion and talent for music, as he taught himself to play guitar at age 10, and began composing original music at age 11, and making beats for friends who rapped, by age 12. Furthermore, Gabe regularly performed guitar for large audiences throughout his youth, including when he was asked to perform for his 8th grade graduation ceremony in front of the entire school and parents. While at Woodbrook Middle school, he also performed in the school band; wherein, he played guitar, jazz bass, and stand-up Bass guitar. He was a regular honors student and a member of the Highly Capable/Gifted program which earned him credits toward high school before he even entered9th grade. He also enjoyed his time playing foot ball for the Woodbrook Wildcats, who went undefeated his 8th grade year.During Gabe’s high school career in Washington he was a member of Lakes Army JROTC, and the Lakes Lancers Football team. He would briefly transfer to Washington High School, where he lettered in Varsity football for the Washington Patriots and the school Band. Shortly thereafter, at age 15, the family moved to Lodi, California. Gabe would go on to graduate with the class of 2016 at Tokay High School; wherein, he lettered in Varsity football and Band.

Following high school, Gabe began working at Holz Rubber; joining both his mother, and brother, Ben who were employed there as well. While at Holz, he learned to weld, which helped him obtain a permanent position as a welder at Core and Main. Gabe spent almost every free moment making music. He was an accomplished musician who managed and engineered music for many local artists. His latest interest was training in muay thai boxing, as he hoped to someday become an accomplished mma athlete. There is little doubt that he would have accomplished his goal.When asked what they are reminded of first when theythink of Gabe, most replied with, “his smile.” Those who knew Gabe, know that smile. It’s genuine, mischievous, sincere, welcoming,and kind- all wrapped in one. He’s also fondly remembered for his puns, pranks, jokes,intelligent insight, and his “bone-crushing” hugs.He was an independent self-starter; a perfectionist, with a magnetic personality, big heart,and infectious laugh. Gabe made life longfriends wherever he went- it wasn’t charisma, it was his generosity, kindness, and the unconditional love that he gave freely. Gabe was an unforgettable, one-in-million talent with a heart of gold.

He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. His light was extinguished too soon.

Gabe is survived by his parents, Jared and Holli Trigg; his siblings, Benjamin, Sophia, and Angelo Trigg; his grandparents, Linda Orlandella, Peggy Trigg, Mike and Brandy Trigg, and Ralph J. Purcell; his great-grandmothers, LaVerne Balentine and Enid Purcell; his niece-on-the-way, Haven Gene Trigg; his girlfriend, Nicole Conboy; and many aunts, uncles ,cousins, great aunts and uncles, and good friends who will miss him, his smiles, and hugs immeasurably.
