Gary Olson

June 21, 1939 - May 31, 2021

Gary Warren Olson passed away peacefully May 31, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. He was a beloved husband, father, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend to all.

Gary was born in Oshkosh, WI to Lavone and Lillian Lindrud on June 21, 1939. At an early age, his family moved to Minnesota. He primarily grew up in Winona, Minnesota and graduated from Winona High School in 1957, then went on to join the United States Airforce in 1958. In 1961, while stationed in Canada, he met and married his wife, Joan. After serving in the Airforce for 8 years, in 1966 he left the service. In 1967 he joined the California Highway Patrol. Gary & Joan settled in the Lockeford/Lodi area in 1970, where they raised their 3 children.

In 1987, after 20 Years with the California Highway Patrol, Gary retired from the Stockton, CA office. He went on to open a private consulting firm, Mid Cal-Investigations, in 1989.

In 1998 he & Joan loaded up their RV and embarked on a full-time adventure. This adventure would take them across the US over the course of 5 years making wonderful memories and friends along the way. One of Gary's favorite pastimes was sharing stories of this great adventure.

After 5 years of RV living, in 2003 they settled in Hayden, ID. While living in Hayden, Gary was very active in the Elks, serving as a trustee for the lodge. They would reside in Hayden until their return to Lodi in 2013.

Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joan Olson; brother, William Baxter; son, Jeff (Carolyn) Olson; daughter, Lorrie (Darrel) Storm; daughter, Lisa (Greg) Jackson; grandchildren, Julie Olson, Callie Olson, Nicole Haberman, Megan Haberman, Carsen Segna, Amy (John) McGillivray, Mckinzie (Brett) Durfey, Derek Jackson; great grandchildren, Anthony Marques, Nicholas Marques and Parker Durfey.

A Celebration of Life to be held Sunday July 25, 2021, 11:30AM at Wine & Roses Grand Ballroom, 2505 W. Turner Road in Lodi, California.

Peter Giammona

December 18, 1985 - May 28, 2021

Peter was born in Lodi, CA, December 18, 1985. He passed away unexpectedly on May 28th, 2021. Peter was predeceased by his father, Steve Giammona in 2012. He was a Master Craftsman/Designer of many wonderful wooden items and artwork. His work was truly art! He could always be found in his workshop, which he referred to as his "office". Peter's YouTube site is "Pete's Shop Makes". He was the youngest of six children and loved his family very much. Peter had a special way of writing and verbalizing his thoughts of love, compassion and encouragement.
Peter leaves behind his mother, Adrienne Giammona Moore (Dick); the love of his life, Karey Gatachet; and the other four legged loves of his life, Chuck and Maddie; his brothers and sisters, Julie Clark Colwell (Ron), Mike Clark (Melinda), Jennifer Clark West (Damon), Bill Clark (Jamie), and Stephen Giammona (Katy); twelve nieces and nephews, Jessica and Jacob Berdechowski, Elizabeth and Victoria Clark, Zuzu, Elliott and Stella West, Grant, Mia and Ava Clark, and Ruby and Emily Giammona; uncle, Joe Giammona and aunt, Carol Giammona; cousins, Vince Giammona, Rachel and Derek Crusinberry (Kendal and Mason); aunt, Diane and uncle, Dan Kelly; cousin, Mike and Melissa Kelly (Myles).
Peter, You are gone, but not forgotten. We will never be apart. Your memory is a Treasure we will keep within our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Family and Friends on Friday, June 25th from 11-2pm at the St. Jorge Winery, 22769 N. Bender Rd., Acampo, CA. Paul Megia

December 20, 1978 - May 26, 2021

Paul Dela Cruz Megia passed away on the morning of Wednesday May 26, 2021 after a tragic shooting that occurred at the Valley Transportation Authority. This took the lives of nine individuals. Paul cared for others and in his final moments, he risked his life to keep his brothers and sisters of the VTA safe. Paul’s heroism, strength and courage will never be forgotten. He had touched many lives with his infectious smile, his compassion, his leadership and his love for the outdoors. He will be remembered as someone with full of life and love.

Paul Dela Cruz Megia was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States at the age of three and was a resident of Mountain House and Stockton, California. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration, minoring in Production and Operations Management at Cal State East Bay in Hayward, California.

Paul joined Valley Transportation Authority in 2002 and worked his way up. He started as a Bus Operator Training, then Chaboya Bus Operator, Cerone Bus Operator and Light Rail Operator. In 2015 he was promoted to a Transportation Supervisor, then Transit Division Supervisor, and eventually an Assistant Superintendent in Service Management. His supervisor shared that he had a calming effect on others and was always willing to lend a helping hand to his employees.

He enjoyed the great outdoors, especially activities such as hiking, fishing, boating, wake-boarding, wake-surfing and snowboarding. Just to name a few. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending all these adventures with his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Nicole Chang, devoted 3 children Nathan, Gavin and Avery Megia and step-son Kyle Chang. He is also survived by his two sisters Lucitinna Megia and Julia Soriano whom admired him dearly and proud parents Leonard and Edna Megia that loved him to no end. His generous loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
