Charlotte Hallum

January 9, 1951 – June 22, 2021

Charlotte Hallum was a caring wife, mother, sister and friend. She left this world suddenly on June 22, 2021 at the age of 70 after a rapid fight with mesothelioma.

She was born to Teofil (Dave) and Hazel Schmierer on January 9, 1951 in Jamestown, ND. They later moved to Lodi, CA in 1956. She graduated high school in 1969 from Lodi Union High School. In December 1975, Charlotte married the love of her life, Richard Hallum. Together they had two beautiful children, Ryan and Lindsey. As a full time mother, Charlotte made even the most difficult schedule of dance recitals, sports practices, family time and dinners look effortless. In 2000, she went to work for Stokes Brothers both managing and selling wine and continued to work for them until she passed. Charlotte was inviting, attentive and truly a wonderful and joyous presence to be around. Outside of her family there were three things that rivaled her love for them, the 49ers, her high heels and her love for reading.

Charlotte is survived by her husband Richard and their two children Ryan and Lindsey as well as her sisters Vickie (Jack Winter) and Kristy (Mike Zane). She was a glamorous woman, who when entering a room, everyone could feel her presence without words. Her loving and caring demeanor will be missed by anyone she was ever in contact with.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.

Christopher Willette

September 12, 1979 - June 21, 2021

It is with a very heavy heart we announce the sudden death of Christopher James Willette - “Chris” to all who knew him. Taken all too soon at the age of 41 years. Born in Santa Clara, California in 1979. He lived with his parents and sister in Los Altos till graduating from Egan Middle School. He and his family moved to Lodi, Ca. in 1993 to be closer to his father’s parents. Chris attended Tokay H.S., he joined the swim and water polo teams where he met his future wife, Christy Tarditi. He was immensely proud of his water polo team which became State Champion in his senior year. Upon graduation he enrolled at Delta for one semester but soon decided to join the Marines. Following his training, he served his time proudly at Kaneohe Bay Marine Base. When he returned to Lodi, he enrolled in ITT Tech where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Data Communications Systems Technology. Chris worked for several companies in the IT field as a technician and later in a supervisory role. He spent three years in the Philippines coordinating the setup of two call centers in Mikati and Manila before returning to the United States in 2008. Chris reunited with Christy Tarditi shortly thereafter and after several years together were married at sea in October 2015. They established their home in Lodi, CA with their beloved fur babies Goldie and Holly. Chris is survived by his wife, Christy R. Tarditi; his parents, Jim and Marie Willette; his sister, Jennifer Willette; his nephew, Leland Ryan and many more extended family members.

A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held at the Oddfellows Hall, 6 S. Pleasant Ave., Lodi, Ca 95240: July 31, 2021, from 1:00p.m. to 3:00p.m. Friends and family are all invited to attend.

Veronica Kramer

August 4, 1938 - June 19, 2021

Veronica Paula Kramer went home to heaven at the age of 82 on June 19, 2021. She was surrounded by family and will be greatly missed. Veronica is survived by two sisters, Dolores and Jenny, daughters Michelle Kolb and Carla Wedell, five grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. Veronica was born in Drake, North Dakota and lived in Stockton and Lodi 64 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and was always there to help everyone. Our hearts are broken but rejoice with the faith that she is welcomed into heaven by her two sons, Michael and Eric, grandson Jared, brothers Rick and Randy and many other family members.

SERVICES:

A memorial service will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park, Chapel of the Flowers, Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 11:00 a.m.

Raul Alejo, Jr.

October 10, 1967 - June 17, 2021

Raul Moreno Alejo Jr., 53, of Lodi went home to be with the Lord on June 17, 2021 at Lodi Memorial Hospital, peacefully surrounded by his family. Raul was born in Lodi, California to Raul Moreno Alejo Sr. and Abelina Moreno Alejo on October 10, 1967 at Lodi Memorial Hospital.

Raul worked in the retail industry in management of grocery and retail for 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Christina I. Alejo, his 2 daughters Teresa Guardado, Leanndra K. Garza & Michael E. Garza, his siblings Rose & Manuel Flores, Caroline Coronado, Paul & Jacklyn M. Alejo, Emily & Mario Bustamante, his 2 grandsons Gabriel Rodriguez Jr. & Josiah Rodriguez, his future grandson Emery M. Garza, also 19 nieces & nephews and 16 great nieces & nephews.

Raul is preceded in death by his father Raul M. Alejo and brother-in-law Richard Coronado.

Visitation: Monday, June 28th 4:00 pm-7:00 pm at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery/Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. Lodi, CA 95240.

SERVICE
Funeral Services: Tuesday, June 29th at 10:00 am at Century Assembly Church, 550 W. Century Blvd. Lodi, CA 95240. (Burial service to follow at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery)

Esther Nickel

August 18, 1920 - June 16, 2021

Esther Nies Nickel passed away on June 16, 2021. A native Lodian, Esther was born on the family ranch on E. Kettleman Lane to Jacob and Marie Nies, on August 18, 1920. She attended Alpine School, LUHS class of 1938, Stockton Jr. College and Forkner's College of Commerce. Prior to her marriage she was employed by Holt Brothers in Stockton.

In 1943, she married Herbert R. Nickel, a LUHS classmate. That same year Herbert was inducted into the Army, and the following three years were spent at Camp White, in Medford, Oregon, and Camp Lockett, Campo, California.

Upon their return to Lodi, a home was established on E. Kettleman Lane. Two children were welcomed, Joyce in 1946 and Steven in 1949. In 1954, she was hired as an intermittent employee with the Lodi Department of Employment (now EDD). In 1961, she was appointed Manager of the Lodi EDD Office, a position she held for 16 years, until her retirement in 1976.

Esther had many interests, among them antiquing, traveling and crossword puzzles.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert R. Nickel; her daughter, Joyce "Penny" Roster; sisters, Lilliaan Hinrichs and Lorene Hoffman; and brother, Marvin Nies. Esther is survived by her son, Steven Nickel and his wife Laura; granddaughters, Jami Martin and Jennifer Achee; great granddaughter, Alynn Achee; and son-in-law, John Roster.

The family would like to thank the staff at Brookdale Senior Living and VITA Hospice of Sacramento for their help and support.

Virginia Ann Ward

April 9, 1936 - June 16, 2021

Virginia Ann Ward (also known as Ginger), 85 years old from Galt, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday June 16, 2021. She was a lifetime member of our local community.

She was born on April 9, 1936 to Leland and Cecilia VanConett. She attended Galt schools and graduated from Galt High School in 1953. After high school, she married her sweetheart William Ward on December 5, 1953 in Carson City, Nevada. They were married just short of 65 years when William passed away on July 28, 2018. They built a loving home and ranch in Galt where they raised their two children, Gary Ward and Colleen Ward Nunes.

She is preceded in death by her parents Leland and Cecilia VanConett, Grandson Paul Ortiz, and her husband William K. Ward.

She is survived by her brother Leroy CanConett of Galt, her son Gary Ward of Gardenerville, Nevada, daughter Colleen Ward Nunes and husband Tony of Galt, and 8 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.

Private graveside services will be held on Saturday July 10th at the Arno Cemetery in Galt with Pastor Michael from Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church officiating. A reception will follow at 12:00 noon at Brewster’s in Galt and will be open to all family and friends.

A special thank you to Hospice of San Joaquin for all of their care and support during this difficult time.

Jon Dale

February 12, 1954 - June 15, 2021

Jon Alan Dale, 67 years old, of Lodi, passed away on June 15, 2021, in French Camp.

There will be a Celebration of Life held on Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 am at Ron and Susan's home.

Jon went to school at Reese Elementary, Lakewood Elementary, Woodbridge Elementary, Lodi High School, and Delta Community College. He graduated from Sacramento State University with a degree in business. To fulfill a life long dream in becoming an attorney, he graduated from Humphrey's Law School with a Doctorate of Law. Jon was known for his quick wit and ability to find a humorous response to most anything. He enjoyed friends and family and was very loyal to them. In addition, he experimented with new recipes and shared his culinary creations to the delight of his family.

Jon is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Elva Dale; and his brothers, Cameron Dale and Dennis Dale. He is survived by his sister, Susan Heberle (Ron); nieces, Laura Mulcahy and Anne Barnett; and nephews, Michael Heberle and Cameron Heberle.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude's Hospital or American Cancer Society. The family of Jon Dale wishes to extend our sincere appreciation to the many health care professionals who provided him with the ability to live a long life. We also wish to thank all of the extended family and friends who have supported and shared in Jon's life. Bless you all.

Dolores P. Osorio

November 20, 1929 - June 15, 2021

During the early morning hours of June 15, Dolores P. Osorio devoted wife and widow, beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.

Dolores will be lovingly remembered by her children, Emelinda (Michael), Ricardo/Roy, and Margie (Daniel). Her nine grandchildren were her greatest joy:  Leza Marie, Nikki; Christopher, Sean and Patrick; Beverly and Tesa; and Sean and Austin; and ten great grandchildren: Bailee, Layla, Triston and Phoenix; Gavan and Preston; Jacob, Jaxon and Jace; and Kiana. Dolores is survived by her sister, Dory (Butch). She will be forever remembered by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth (Dean); husband of 61 years, Casimiro R. Osorio; and parents, a sibling and her 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

Dolores was known for her sense of style, her fabulous cooking of Filipino food, and the joy in her strong faith of the Lord in her heart. Dolores loved family get-togethers, to entertain and be entertained. She will be dearly missed.

VISITATION & SERVICES:

Visitation and funeral service in memory of Dolores will be held Wednesday June 30, 2021 at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am, Service begins promptly at noon with a Committal Service immediately following held at Cherokee Memorial Park’s Garden of Trees, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240. Important Note: we are keen to welcoming you safely, the family asks to please wear proper face covering during the visitation and funeral services held indoors.

All who attend the funeral service are welcome to join the family for a meal after service concludes - let’s together celebrate her life and memory.
