Teresa Blanton

October 09, 1953 - August 03, 2021

Loving & Beloved Daughter, Sister, Niece, Cousin, Aunt, Sister-in-law and friend.

Teresa Blanton of Los Gatos California, recently preceded in death by her beloved mother Louise, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2021 from the sudden onset of a catastrophic medical event. Teresa displayed an active mind and a love of the arts from an early age.

As a teen, she developed a deep passion for ballet and ultimately achieved her dream of becoming a professional ballerina. She held this passion for the rest of her life, teaching others the discipline’s finer points. She also had a keen interest in art, music, literature, film, and theater. Teresa further displayed a facility for languages, learning Italian, German, and her favorite, French in addition to her native English. She studied the French language in Paris for one year while at university on full scholarship. She also completed a BA in French from San Jose State University.

Teresa was active in the community and frequently volunteered to help in her brother Steve’s political campaigns who served on the Los Gatos Town Council from 1990-2002. She often baked homemade treats to pass out to family, friends, and neighbors at Christmas time. She also volunteered countless hours at the Happy Dragon thrift store, developing many close friendships as a result. Teresa delighted in her nephew, Justin, often reading and playing with him for hours on end at family gatherings when Justin was a child. Devoted to her mother, Teresa dedicated herself to providing the best care possible for Louise during her last years.

Teresa is survived by her brother Steve Blanton, her sister-in-law, Sophia Blanton, her nephew Justin Blanton, and cousins, Cammy Day, Ron Day, and David Minnich. She is deeply loved by all who knew her, and is sorely missed.

A celebration of life for Louise and Teresa will be held in Los Gatos at a future date to be announced.

Don was born September 4th, 1952 as the fourth son, to Bill and Ellen Christy in Redding CA and the family moved to Lodi, CA in 1953.Don was a vibrant child. He learned to swim and became a proficient swimmer at Robby's Olympic Club where he met some of his lifelong friends. He went to Lodi High School where he played water polo and swam. Don earned All-American Awards for swimming. He received a full ride scholarship to San Jose State to play water polo. After hanging up his speedo, Don went to work in the construction field. He obtained his contractor's license and started, Don Christy Construction. Don had such an artistic skill set in construction as well as in painting pictures, in his spare time. Don made sure all family members had one of his paintings before he passed. He was always there to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, regardless of the task. No task was too large or too small. Many times, all it entailed was just an ear to listen. Don had an unbelievable sense humor, many claimed whenever he got on a roll, they never laughed so hard in their lives.

We are all going to miss the "Bear" "Mad Dog" "Bean" and many other "AKAs". Most of all, we are going to miss Dad, Grandpa, Father-in-Law, Brother, Brother-in-Law, Uncle, and Friend, that loved us all and would give the shirt off his back for anyone of us.
