Elvira Scheu

April 06, 1938 - September 08, 2021

She was born on April 6th , 1938 to August and Amalie Rieger in Odessa Ukraine. They immigrated to Hebron North Dakota in 1951 then moved to Milwaukee, WI. in 1953. It was at Jefferson Dance Hall where she would meet the man who would take her heart forever. She married Johann Hans Scheu on October 17th , 1958 after just 3 months of dating. They remained happily together until his passing on November 19, 2005.

They moved out west to California in 1961 and settled in Sacramento where Elvira worked for Foremost Dairy. Together with Hans, they started S & R Egg Ranch in Acampo, in November 1967. She was active in the business until her 80th birthday. Customers would often ask if she was in her office for a quick visit; she enjoyed interacting with all of them. In later years, customers would often tell her they came out with their grandparents as children. they now come with their families. When she was not keeping tabs on the business, she would find time to travel. She traveled to Europe, Asia, Russia, Africa, South America, Hawaii and to many national parks but her favorite way to travel was cruising. Of the many places she visited her favorite was the Mediterranean and Christmas Market cruising. Searching for that special tchotchke was the thrill of each trip. She was blessed to travel with both family and friends, and cherished the memories she made. She loved spending time with family and friends entertaining at her home where she hosted many parties from authentic Luau to spectacular 4th of July parties.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 47 years Johann Hans Scheu, her parents August and Amalie Rieger and an infant brother Willie Rieger.

She is survived by her son Peter (Pati) Scheu, daughter Monica Scheu and grandchildren Christopher and Chelsey Scheu.

SERVICE

Funeral services will be held Monday September 20th 2021, at 11:30am at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Cemetery. Visitation is from 9am prior to the funeral service.

Lolita Narvios

March 17, 1922 - September 6, 2021

Lolita Narvios, fondly known as Mommy to her family and friends, and Lola to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was born on St. Patrick’s Day on March 17, 1922, to her parents Vicente Casimiro Rallos and Dolores Reynes Rallos, the 4th of 10 children.

In her prime, she became a stockings model for which she was awarded a lifetime supply of stockings.

Lolita married her late husband Roberto Beck Narvios. They have 5 children: Jessie, Kenneth, Nonie and their 2 other daughters Shirley and Karen who went to heaven years ago.

She graduated with a degree in Pharmacy and placed 3rd in the Board Exam for Pharmacists in the Philippines. She taught as a professor at Cebu Institute of Technology College of Pharmacy. After some years, she moved to Manila where she retired from work as Executive Assistant at the Bureau of Buildings and Real property Management.

After retirement in 1983, she immigrated to the United States and assisted her daughter Karen as an Apartment Manager in San Francisco, while at the same time babysitting for her Grandchildren Mark, Kenneth Jr., Michael, Marvin, and Kristofer.

Her love for her family and grandchildren made her decide to relocate with the rest of the family to Stockton, California.

She also helped babysit the children of her extended family, and that’s how she became everybody’s Lola.

Her hobbies include crocheting, knitting, gardening, crossword puzzles, and cooking especially for her grandchildren. She also loved window shopping & going to the casino to play with the pennies slot machines.

She also served as a Volunteer in the Foster Grandparent Program in Stockton, California for 15 years for which she enjoyed immensely and took pride of.

Lolita’s favorite food include chicharron, chips, and most of all ice cream, which her grandchildren “inherited’ from her.

She also enjoyed visiting her family in the Philippines especially Cebu City to spend time with her son Jessie, and wife Tessie, most of all to shower with love her grandson Jed, his wife Carmela and great-grandchildren Justine, Josh, and Jaden.

She also loved listening to classic Filipino music and that of her generation, especially the music of her friends Ms. Pilita Corrales and Ms. Elizabeth Ramsey. She enjoyed watching movies especially love stories, TV series like General Hospital and most of all those of another friend, Ms. Gloria Sevilla.

Lolita joined our Creator peacefully on September 6, 2021, in the presence of her daughter Noni and partner Dhel. She was 99 years and 6 months old.

She is survived in Cebu by her son Jessie and wife Tessie, grandson Jed and wife Carmela, great grandchildren Justine, Josh, and Jaden.

In California, she is survived by her son Kenneth Sr., wife Agnes, grandchildren Kenneth Jr. and wife Britney, and Kristofer; her daughter Noni and partner Dhel; her grandson Mark and great-grandchild M. Alexis; her grandson Michael and wife Nancy, great-grandchildren Nolan and Brandon; and grandson Marvin and great-granddaughter Karen who is named after her late daughter Karen.

Lolita is also survived by her 5 siblings, Carolina Baladad, Anunciacion Bayani, Corazon Rallos, Teresita Tenefrancia, Prospero Rallos and best friend, her “sister from another mother” Mrs. Felicidad Albinto.

Lolita is well-loved by many and has touched many lives as a mother, sibling, Aunt, Grandmother, Great grandmother Ninang (Godmother), mentor and friend. She has a feisty and funny personality yet soft and gentle. She was easy to love because she loved everybody. She opened her humble home even to strangers. That’s how kind she was.

Mommy/Lola left a legacy of love and compassion. She had passed on to those whose lives she touched, her love for God and her spirituality. As she babysat for her grandchildren, she taught them all how to pray in Bisaya, her native dialect.

She is forever loved and will always be in our hearts until we meet again. Her wish was granted as she had been saying these past few months how tired she had been. Although we are saddened by her loss, we thank the Almighty God for giving her a beautiful life and a peaceful eternal rest she wanted.

A visitation will be held from 4:00pm - 7:00pm on Tuesday September 21 , 2021 at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday September 22,  2021 at St. Anne's Catholic Church  located at 215 W. Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240.

Josephine Quenzer

January 05, 1931 - September 04, 2021

eaven received a new angel with the passing of Josephine (Josie) Mary Quenzer in the early morning hours of September 4, 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on January 5, 1931 to parents Frank and Anna Rose Battaglia, Josie was the firstborn of their four children. The Battaglia family, along with Frank's stateside brothers and their families, moved west in the mid 1930's to make Lodi, California their home. In her early years, Josie was happy to accompany her father, Frank, as he tended to various grape vineyards, cherry orchards, and a fruit packing business. Growing up in Lodi, she attended St. Anne's Catholic School. She was a great storyteller, as was her father, thus family and friends heard many a tale of her younger years going to dances, cruising the downtown and popping into the local burger joints, having fun with her friends, adventures traveling to Ohio by train to visit her mother's side of the family, her early home life, and stories of her own family.
On July 7, 1951 she married John Quenzer and began a life-long career as a housewife and mother, as the family grew to eventually include four children. Josie had a special place in her heart for animals, especially dogs. She enjoyed reading, watching NASCAR races, shopping, the occasional trip to Lake Tahoe to play to the slots, and visiting with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Quenzer in 2006; parents, Frank and Anna Rose Battaglia; sister, Francis Dennis of Las Vegas, NV; and son-in-law, William "Bill" Fortuna.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Bill) Fortuna, Diane Thomas, and Valerie (Michael) McFee all of Lodi; son, David (Laura) Quenzer of Cottage Grove, Oregon; eight grandchildren, Lori Fortuna, Lisa Johnson, and Justin Thomas of Lodi, CA, Tiffiney Quenzer of Ione, CA, and Stephanie Cooper, Amber Quenzer, David Quenzer, and Christine Quenzer of Cottage Grove, Oregon; as well as ten great grandchildren. Josie is also survived by her brothers Frank, Jr. and Joseph Battaglia of Lodi and many dear nieces and nephews.

VISITATION
Visitation is available on Thursday, September 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. and Friday, September 17 from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 831 Industrial Way, Lodi. Entombment will be private at Temple of Memories Mausoleum, Cherokee Memorial Park, Lodi, CA. Patricia Sutherland

May 13, 1940 - September 03, 2021

Patricia Alden Sutherland, born May 13, 1940 in Oneonta, New York, to Walt & Beatrice Deming, passed away September 3rd, 2021 in Lodi, California at the age of 81.

Patricia spent many years as a hairstylist before meeting and marrying Dr. Arliss Sutherland on August 15, 1981. Together they shared passions for traveling, deep sea fishing, cooking and gardening. The two enjoyed many vacations with family and close friends. Patricia was married to Arliss for 33 years when he passed away. The love they had for each other was obvious.

In her later years, Patricia enjoyed playing bingo and bridge with friends as well as visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was sure to express how proud she was of her entire family. Nothing made her more proud than her children, her grandchildren, and their accomplishments.
Patricia loved to cook, and she hosted many dinner parties and family gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Arliss; her parents; brother, Keith; daughter-in-law, Julie Sutherland; granddaughter, Kristina; and many close friends.

She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Russell) Wold, Kimberly (Corey) Sutherland, Scott (Debra) Sutherland, Laurel (Ralph) Purcell, Wade (the late Julie) Sutherland; and grandchildren, Jeremy (Wendy) Wold, Jeffrey Wold, Jason (Tiffany) Wold, Jamie (Luke) Buckley, Joelle (fiancé Kris) Sutherland, Kate Sutherland, Emily (James) Blackburn, Kira (Tayler) Mitchell, Arliss (Kim) Kosta, Jana (Tim) Long, Jesse Joens; 16 great grandchildren; sister, Gloria (Bill) Hall; and nieces, Lise and Jessica.

Patricia was a "MARVELOUS" woman with a huge heart and a love for family and friends that will always be remembered.

In her honor, there will be a Rosary in the chapel at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way, Lodi, CA 95240. beginning at 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 23rd.

MASS

A funeral mass will be held at St. Anne's Catholic Church located at 215 W. Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240 on Friday, September 24th at 10 a.m. with interment immediately following at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off of Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240. A memorial open house reception will be hosted at the home of Russell & Kathleen Wold following the burial.

Janice Fitzgerald

April 23, 1962 - September 03, 2021

Janice Louise Fitzgerald, 59, of Stockton, California passed away Friday, September 3, 2021.

Janice was born in Sacramento, California on April 23, 1962 and grew up in Stockton, attending both Stagg and Tokay High Schools. Her first job was at Victory Fountain at age 14. From then, Janice was a much-loved and requested server at Carmen’s Restaurant, El Rancho Inn for over 30 years, and most recently, Bud’s Seafood. Janice also spent the last 23 years with Lincoln Unified School District, primarily as a librarian, where staff and students adored her. Janice was known for her strong work ethic, sweet smile, generosity and for being a selfless person. Janice held many animals close to her heart, including her late dog Joey and other wild and stray animals. Her primary legacy was her love toward others and being a devout mother and grandmother.

Janice is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Ashley and Darren Sen and Stephanie and Samuel Rincon; three grandchildren, Jeremy Sen, Alexandra Sen and Sammy Rincon; husband, Patrick Fitzgerald; siblings, Chrissy Graves, Thomas Marshall and Stephanie Gaines-Mangas; her beloved dog and two cats, and many other loving friends and family. She is preceded in death by her mother, Gayle Henslee; aunt, Joyce Boland; and first husband, Jim Baker.  

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 25th at 10:30 a.m., at Carson Oaks Community Church – 6509 N. Alturas Avenue, Stockton, CA. The service will also be live-streamed on Carson Oaks Community Church’s YouTube and Facebook webpage.

Nancy Griess

Nancy Sarah (Webb) Griess, formerly of Lodi and Modesto, passed away peacefully on Sep 2nd at St. Francis Assisted Care in Turlock, CA, at the age of 96.


Nancy was born in Tahlequah, OK, to George and Victoria Webb in 1925. George died when Nancy was only one, and with most of her childhood falling squarely in the Great Depression years, she began to help support the family at an early age by working as a housekeeper and field hand. In about 1943, she and her mother moved with Nancy's sister's family to the Phoenix area, six of them making the trip in a Model A. Her brother-in-law worked for a grower, in whose orchard she met her husband-to-be, Herbert Walter Griess. They began to date, and she introduced him to the Church of Christ. They married in 1946, a marriage that carried them through 72 years until his death in 2019. Herb and Nancy moved to Modesto in 1959, where they lived for over 40 years, took up farming, and eventually grew almonds. They finally retired to Lodi. Nancy was entirely devoted to her family and to the church. She loved to cook and was known for her Southern-style meals.


She is survived by her two sons and two daughters, Linda (Mike) Bryant of Santa Maria, Kerry of Ceres, Carolyn of Nipomo, and Jeffrey (Kim) of Sandy, OR; as well as six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Herbert; and siblings, Homer and Hattie Webb and Icie, Bannie, and Howard Pierce.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday September 28, 2021 at Chapel of Flowers in Cherokee Memorial Park, located off  Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Kristin Smith Terlouw

Kristin LaVon Smith Terlouw was born January 29, 1973 to Bradford Smith and Cheryl Bateman Smith in Santa Maria, California where her dad was stationed with the Highway Patrol.  She moved to Stockton California when she was two years old. She attended Davis Elementary, Morada Middle School and Tokay High School.  She had many friends on the block where she lived and she kept in touch with her friends until her death.  She was employed at Allstate Insurance in the Office of David Tunquist when she graduated from high school and later for Myles Harris of Allstate.  She worked in the insurance business for 30 years. She had her special clients that would bring their checks or cash in to the office each month, just to visit. When she had to leave because of illness she was deeply saddened, as she missed the contact with her customers and the staff.

Kristin discovered that she had Multiple Sclerosis when she was in her early 30’s. She remained very physically active with her children’s’ activities until they were out of High School. She enjoyed Cub Scouts, piano lessons, swimming and jazz band with Daxton her son, and Girl Scouts, Swimming and Fast Pitch Traveling Softball with Taylor, her daughter.  She also enjoyed crafting with her best friend Dawn and later learning to piece quilts with her mom. She graciously gave her quilts away to special friends and family.  Kristin also loved shark fishing with her dad in the San Franciso Bay. 

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in Primary, Young Women and Relief Society. She also went to Girls Camp and would help in the kitchen with her dad for the week.  In each of these services she made many friends and kept in touch with them over the years.

Kristin met the love of her life Nick Terlouw, when she was very young. In their teens they danced together in the Church Regional Dance Festival. They each went their own ways until 2012 when they ran into each other again and were later married in 2016.  They loved Hawaii, the beach and traveling together to the many places they enjoyed.

Nick you are her Nick.  She’s loved you for a very long time.  You served her till the day that she passed through the veil.  And you are still serving Kristin, her adult kids, and her parents. She will always love you. 

Kristin passed from this life on Wednesday September 1st 2021 very peacefully at home. Kristin is survived by her husband Nick Terlouw, her children, Daxton Stillwell (Galt) and Taylor Stillwell (Stockton), her parents Bradford & Cheryl Bateman Smith (Stockton). Her older brother Brian Smith and Jennifer Lucero (Galt). She is also survived by her Grandfather James Smith (Nampa, Idaho). She has many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and a great niece and 2 great nephews.

We all will miss Kristin so very much. We know that she is free of the pain that she suffered daily.  It helps us all to know that after our time here on earth we will pass on to be in our Heavenly Home with her and many others.  We are grateful for our belief in Heavenly Fathers Plan and comforted to know we will be with our Kristin again. Till then we will continue to miss her every single day.

Kristin’s Memorial Service will be held on Saturday September 18, 2021 for friends and family at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the chapel at 1:00pm located at 8806 Don Ave, Stockton, CA 95209. Per the family’s request, please wear a mask while in attendance of the service. Thank you.

Lynette Godina

January 19, 1954 - September 01, 2021

On Wednesday September 1, 2021, Lynette Blanche Godina, loving mother to 3 children and Nana to 8 grandchildren, passed away at the age of 67.

Lynette was born on January 19, 1954 in Santa Barbara, CA to Louis and Lillian Purio. Lynette and her family moved from Santa Barbara, CA to Stockton, CA in 1954. She is a graduate of Stagg High School. In 1978 one of her greatest joys was becoming a mother for the first time to Armando and again in 1980 to Mary and 1986, Sarah. She went on to teach at Stockton Christian School for 18 years while she raised her children. During that time she enjoyed teaching and left a lasting impression on her students. After teaching, she then spent the next few years caring for her mother until her passing. After her mother passed, she only took a small amount of time for herself when she started working part timefor her dear friend brother James Williams at CJ’s Jamaican Kitchen. She loved brother and sister Williams and often talked about how she loved working there. She was also a faithful member of Lighthouse of the Valley and loved her church family dearly. Lynette enjoyed tending to her beautiful garden, collecting tea pots, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Lynette was preceded in death by her father Louis and her mother Lillian. She is survived by her brothers Louis and Lee Purio, her three children Armando, Mary and Sarah and her eight grandchildren Jordan, Dominic, Desirae, Dimitri, Mia, Jacob, Jaidyn and Preston.

Harry Bradford

We are sad to announce the passing of Harry Leon Bradford on August 31 of this year. Harry spent most of his professional life as an owner operator and contractor for Teichert Construction as well as a sheriff deputy in the auxiliary for some years. He was an expert motorcycle racer at the Lodi Cycle Bowl with sponsorship by John McGill as well as a member of the Stockton Motorcycle Club. Harry was an avid scuba diver, hunter, fisherman, and collecting antique bottles. He was a very hard worker and hardly took time out for vacations, he loved his work, his life and his family very much.

Harry is survived by his daughter Vickie Bradford-Bell(David), daughter in law Amy Bradford, Grandchildren Raquel Keller(Todd), Jessica Morillon, Vanessa Bradford, and Dominique Bradford, as well as 6 Great-grandchildren.

Harry is preceded by his parents Edith and Noel Bradford, his wife Helen, his brother Kenneth and his son Jeffery Bradford.

Kathy Langford

May 20, 1949 - August 31, 2021


Kathy LaJean Langford was born in French Camp, CA on May 20, 1949 to Mack Langford and Zenobia (Edmerson) Langford. She attended Edison High School and Delta Community College in Stockton, CA. After receiving her Associate degree, she held jobs at Delicato Family Wines, Tillie Lewis Cannery, and the Stockton Record newspaper. Most recently, Kathy was a teacher’s assistant in special needs classrooms for the Stockton Unified School District. Kathy enjoyed traveling, spoiling her niece and nephew, and connecting with family members near and afar. She especially enjoyed gospel music and sang with various choirs through the years. Most importantly, Kathy loved the Lord and committed her life to Christ at a young age.

Kathy is survived by her brother Louis Langford, sister-in-law Marian Langford, niece Aisha Langford, nephew Akil Langford, as well as a host of family members and friends. Kathy had a wonderful sense of humor, a praying spirit, and a kind heart.

She was a bright light to us all and will be sorely missed.
