The graveside service will be at 11:15am also October 11, 2021 at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.

Harold LeRoy Minatre

December 4, 1934 - October 4, 2021

LeRoy was born to George Minatre and Velma Underwood Mi natre in Woodland, Ca on December 4, 1934. His family moved to Stockton when LeRoy was a toddler. He is sur vived by his loving wife, Marjorie as well as his 2 children Cherie Minatre Lakin and Curtis Mina tre (Dee), and 2 step-children Cheryl Lawson (Roger) and Sherri Richardson, 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents George and Velma as well as his two brothers, Elvin and Donald Minatre. 

LeRoy was a born entrepreneur. At the age of 5 he was selling seeds in his neighborhood to generate income. In 1951, at the age of 17, he was named Super Salesman by the Stockton Record and received a Permanent Achievement trophy for adding a record-breaking 112 new subscribers in November 1951. Graduated from San Joaquin Delta College. He served in the Naval Reserves. 

LeRoy went to work for Scott Brothers in 1952. After receiving his journeyman papers; He opened his own sign company in 1967, Mina-Tree Signs Incorporated. Traveling throughout the United States and Europe for various accounts, he was always on the go. 

He was a founding member of the Horizon Christian Fellowship Church and has been a Christian for all of his adult life. He owned the Altamont Racetrack for 10 years. LeRoy was a founding member of the University of the Pacific Athletic Foundation created in 1970. He and his wife, Marjorie were major contributors to the PAF Foundation as well as being honorary Chair Persons for the 15th Annual Orange and Black Ball in 2014. Additionally he was inducted into the Pacific Athletics Hall of Fame in 2016. 

He was President of the Lion's Club in 1978 and a member from 1967-1980. 

He was a consummate collector and appreciated many areas of interest such as antiques, fine art and numerous collectibles. 

He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Patricia "Trish" Gunter

February 24, 1949 - October 3, 2021

age 72, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 3, 2021, at her home in Stockton, California.

Trish was born February 24, 1949, in Stockton, California. After graduating from Franklin High School, she went on to become a cosmetologist. She loved being a hairdresser and retired after 33 successful years.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years Floyd Gunter, two daughters Krista (Carlos) Ponce and Karrie (John) Heilbrun, four grandchildren Krystyna, Gabriel, Kaylee Ponce and Amelia (Mia) Heilbrun, great grandson Emilio (Monkey) Huerta, and brother Michael Marsh.
Besides spending time with her family and friends she enjoyed caring for the plethora of hummingbirds that loved being around her. Her favorite times were those spent with her dear friends on some of their many trips to the casinos.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 24th, 2021 from 3-6 at the Masonic center of Modesto 800 Rose Ave Modesto 95355.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be sent to The American Cancer Society in Trish’s memory.

Clyde Caya

January 23, 1940 - October 03, 2021

With great sadness, the family of Clyde Caya informs of his passing on October 3, 2021 at the age of 81.

Our beloved, husband, father, and grandfather passed from this life at his home in Lodi surrounded by his family. The family had great confidence that he has been released to our heavenly father and to those who have passed before him.

Clyde Caya was born on January 23, 1940 in Alameda, California to Alfred and Susie Caya. He grew up in Redwood City, California with his brother Edward Caya and graduated from Sequoia High School with the class of 1958. Clyde took classes at the College of San Mateo and served in the United States Navy between 1957 and 1963. In the Navy Clyde served as an aviation machinist. Clyde was married in April of 1962 to Sue Caya (Tharp) at the First United Methodist Church of Redwood City. Clyde and Sue have two sons, Shane and David.

Clyde loved aviation and spent many hours at the Columbia Airport checking out airplanes and talking to the CDF air attack pilots. Clyde was an avid fan of the San Francisco Giants, the 49ers, Sonora Wildcats, and the Lodi Flames.

Clyde worked for 28 years for the United States Postal Service as a carrier and made many lifelong friends while delivering his route in Redwood City, as well as in Sonora. Clyde lived in Sonora, California from the late 1970's until the early 2000's. While in Sonora he was a member of the United Methodist Men and Kiwanis. He was a docent at Columbia State Park, and also delivered Meals on Wheels. After moving to Lodi, California, Clyde became a member of the Lodi Police Partners, helped with the Lodi High School freshman football team, and was at all Lodi High School home wrestling matches.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother. He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, as well as, son Shane Caya (Heather) of Larkspur, California and son David Caya (Lisa) of Lodi. Clyde had five grandchildren that he adored; Emelia Blonkenfeld, and Simona Blonkenfeld, Shelby Caya, Carson Caya, Emily Dipiero.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 16, at the First United Methodist Church of Lodi, 200 W. Oak Street, Lodi at 1 PM.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Partners volunteers of the Lodi Police Department.

Ricardo Lupian

September 27, 1979 - October 2, 2021

On Saturday October 2, 2021 Ricardo Lupian loving husband and father of 3 passed away suddenly at the age of 42.

He was born in Tizapan El Alto, Mexico on September 27th 1979. He is survived by his wife Tiffany and their 3 children Christian 17, Marissa 15 and Araceli 13. Ricardo and Tiffany recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.

Ricardo is also survived by his parents Trinidad and Martha Lupian, brothers Hector Lupian and his wife Margarita their three children Sebastian, Jasmine and Augustine. Juan Lupian and his wife Trina their 4 children, Maryah, Jerico, Jeramiah, and Noah. His sisters Martha Lupian Mendoza her husband Gabriel their 4 children Angel, Daniela, Diana and Dulce. Andrea (Lupe) Lupian Ybarra her husband Joe, and their 3 children, Crisiya, Damian and Baby Joe.  Ricardo had numerous Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.

Ricardo worked for Lodi Unified School for over 20 years holding many positions at several schools. His most recent position was in the Mechanic Shop working on the School District vehicles. Ricardo touched many lives and was friends with not only his family but everyone he met.

He loved to spend time with his family and often went camping and motorcycle riding. Of course he fixed all of his own cars, bikes, trucks and everyone else’s too. Ricardo had two passions the Dallas Cowboys and restoring old cars, he and his brother Hector started a car club known as “Steel Classics” in Lodi several years ago.

SERVICES:
The visitation for Ricardo will be held on Tuesday October 12, 2021 from 4:00 - 7:00pm, with the rosary taking place at 5:30pm, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home located at 831 Industrial Way in Lodi, California.

Mass services will be held on Thursday October 14, 2021 at 10:00am at St. Anne’s Catholic Church located at 215 W. Walnut Street in Lodi, California.

Celeste Buchanan

Celeste A. (Rojas) Buchanan, of Lodi, born February 11, 1955 left this earth and went to her eternal home in heaven on October 1, 2021.  She passed peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, James Gilbert Buchanan, sister, Patricia Semeniuk, father in-law, Elbert Buchanan, and mother in-law, Miggie Wheat. Celeste is survived by her parents George and Josie Rojas, of Stockton; her daughters Amber (Jay) Berry of Lodi, Jennifer (Chris) Jedlicka of Galt and her five grandchildren, Cierra Berry, Drake Jedlicka, Brock Jedlicka, Colton Berry and Skye Jedlicka. She is also survived by her brother George Jr. (Marta) Rojas of Edmonds, WA.

Celeste was a kind, patient, and loving Christian woman. If you were lucky enough to know her, you witnessed how deeply she cared for her family and friends. She said her family was her number one priority, and she proved that by being a dedicated daughter to her aging parents. She spent many days with them, serving them and caring for them, making sure they were happy and well taken care of. Celeste was not only a mother to her two daughters, but she was also their friend. They genuinely enjoyed spending time together laughing, hanging out, and enjoying life. Also, the love she showed towards her grandchildren was beautiful. She selflessly gave her time and energy to them. She was a proud Nana and loved going to her grandchildren’s sports games and extra-curricular activities. Celeste prioritized family time and participated in frequent family weekend trips and vacations. Where her family was, she was.

After 23 years, at State Compensation Insurance Fund, she retired as a claim’s adjuster in 2010. Celeste loved to travel. Some of her favorite times were her motorcycle road trips with her husband James and their close friends. She loved the weekends they spent boating and camping on the Delta. Time spent at her parent’s cabin in Cedar Ridge made invaluable memories for her. Her many travels included France, Holland, England, Monaco, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Hawaii, Mexico, Jamaica, and Haiti. She fondly remembered her trip to Washington D.C. with her granddaughter Cierra’s 8th grade class. Her other pastimes were her bowling leagues, gardening, and trips to the casinos. She also felt it was important to give back to the less fortunate and she routinely gave out care bags to the homeless, donations to local shelters and to the American Red Cross.

Celeste was a blessing to all who knew her, and she will be greatly missed!  May we all find comfort in knowing that she is at peace and reunited once again with her one and only love, James.

Betty Hartwig

March 17, 1930 - September 28, 2021

Betty Joan Hartwig passed away at home on September 28, 2021, in Lodi at the age of 91. Betty was born on March 17, 1930 in Bonfield, Illinois to Sam and Ella White. Betty married Raymond Hartwig, Sr. in 1962, together they raised two children: Noreen Hartwig (Anagnos) and Raymond Hartwig Jr. and one granddaughter, Mickalya Hartwig. Betty was a housewife and after moving to Lodi she spent 11 years working at Gibraltar's Savings. She enjoyed collecting antiques and dolls. She enjoyed being a member of TOPS 1350 for many years and a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Betty was preceded in death by her father and mother, Sam and Ella White, her husband Raymond Hartwig, Sr. Her two brothers, Roy White and Donald White of Illinois. She is survived by her daughter, Noreen, son, Raymond Jr. and granddaughter, Mickayla, and two special nieces, Carmen (Pete) Pease, West Virginia and Shelly Hoff, Texas. My brother and I would like to thank the ladies who assisted in caring for Betty during her last few months. It meant more to us than they will ever know. A Celebration of Life has been planned for Betty and will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at Vineyard Chapel, Cherokee Memorial at 1:00 pm, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240.
