George Kitagawa

May 23, 1930 - July 22, 2022

George Hiroshi Kitagawa was born in Stockton on May 23, 1930 and passed away at the age of 92 on July 22, 2022.

George is survived by his wife Megumi (Tomimatsu) of 63 years, son Kevin (Karen), daughter Kathlynn (Bob) Uenaka, granddaughters Megan, Danielle, Miya and Kimi, grandson Brandon, sister Fumiye Iwamura, brothers Tom and Dennis (Janice), sister-in-law Nuiko Shimozaki and numerous nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed tending to his veggie garden, building things out of wood, attending UOP Men’s basketball games, watching his favorite sports teams (Warriors, Giants, and 49ers), and being a loving grandfather to his five grandchildren. He looked forward to spending time with his Friday Gardening Crew friends at the Stockton Buddhist Church and going to Red Hawk Casino once a month.

George will always be remembered as a kind, warm-hearted and thoughtful husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend who was always willing to lend a helping hand.

A memorial service for George will be held at the Stockton Buddhist Church on September 24, 2022 at 11:00am.

Erwin Perry

December 9, 1938 - July 19, 2022

Erwin Boyd Perry, age 83, was born in Muskegon, Michigan on December 9, 1938 to Hurshel and Louise (Wilson) Perry. He passed away peacefully with family by his side in Stockton, California on July 19, 2022. Erwin is survived by Darolyn, his beloved wife of 62 years, Sons; Richard (Corrinne) Perry and Darold (Jodi) Perry, Grandchildren; Katelyn (Aaron) Wiley, Christopher Perry, Connor Perry, Jacob Perry, and Seth Perry, Great Grandchildren; Aubrey and Avery Wiley, Sisters; Noma Moore-Deering and June (Edward) Hogan, Brother; Monte Perry, Brother-in-laws; Larry King, Terry Trapp, numerous nephews, nieces, and many dear friends, most who simply called him “Pops”.
Erwin was preceded in death by his parents, sister Janice Trapp, brother-in-law Jack Deering, and sister-in-law Margie Perry.
Erwin graduated from high school in Grant, Michigan, and he joined the US Air Force shortly after. During his 23-year career, he held various positions in base supply, logistics, was a training instructor and recruiter. He served duty in England, Germany, Libya, Vietnam as well as bases throughout the United States.
Following his military career, Erwin became a successful insurance agent, building trust and long-time friendships with many of his clients over his 20+ year career.
Erwin enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting (anything) , gold mining, playing cards, and especially fishing from his boat “Perrydize” on the Sea of Cortez. He was also an avid walker, logging more than 1,500 miles the year he turned 80. He and Darolyn were residents of Bahia de Kino, Sonora, Mexico; a place he loved and called home with his many Mexican and American friends. Together, they were 25+ year members of the Stockton Elks, and the Club Deportivo.
Erwin was a proud, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and living life to its fullest. Also, for whistling “The Red River Valley” as he worked and tinkered!

Sandra Wells

October 6, 1959 - July 18, 2022

Sandra Kay Patricia Wells was born October 6, 1959 in Berrien Springs, Michigan to Donald and Adeline Wells. Sandra had many fond memories of her small town and Lake Michigan. She completed high school in Georgia and her LPN degree in Hensdale, Illinois. Eventually she migrated to California where her family had relocated. There she earned her RN at Loma Linda University and her Bachelor’s degree at California State Stanislaus. Sandra settled in Stockton to be near family and began working at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, she worked there for 17 years. In 1996 she graduated from UCSF with her Master’s degree and became a Nurse Practitioner. Sandra eventually went to work at Stockton Hematology/Oncology as an NP for 16 years. Her last career stop was at Kaiser Permanente as the NP for the Oncology Survivorship program

Sandra had a huge heart and went out of her way to help people. She was kind, loving, thoughtful, and loyal. In 2001 she took on her biggest role and became a mother to Alex. A few years later, Thomas arrived. Her sons were her biggest joy and her life revolved around being their “mom”.

Sandra loved travel, the ocean, scuba diving, camping, bicycling (she rode 150 miles twice), baking (especially her famous Christmas sugar cookies), and reading.

She is survived by her sons Alex and Thomas, her sister Marion Bynum, niece and nephews Roxanne Shimizu (Dave), James Shearer (Debbie), Steven Shearer, great nephew Dakota, and her long time best friend Dorene Tomei (Charlie). Her brother Don proceeded her in death.

Sandra left us much too soon and will always be in our hearts.

Evelyn Garrison

April 8, 1930 - July 18, 2022

Evelyn Eleanor Garrison Haley peacefully went to be with our Heavenly Father on July 18, 2022, at the age of 92, with family by her side. She was born in Timbo, Arkansas on April 8, 1930 to William Arlie Garrison and Vera Irene Fielder - Garrison. She married the love of her life, Marvin Leon Haley Sr. on February 26, 1949. They had four children, Marvin Leon Haley Jr. , Rachael Dean Haley-Kulling, Rebecca Ann Haley-Sellers and their sweet baby boy Harry Milton, who died at the tender age of six weeks old.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Marvin Jr, (Debbie), Rachael (Arthur), and Rebecca. She also is survived by 5 grandsons, 13 great grandchildren, and 2 great - great grandchildren, and one baby boy, Atticus Wayne, soon to be number 3! Evelyn is also survived by her brother–in-law Kenneth Lamar Haley (Diane). She was an aunt to many nieces and nephews, and a wonderful loyal friend to many people.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Marvin, of 69 years, and her precious baby boy, Harry. Also her siblings Michael Garrison, Ronnie Garrison, James Garrison, and Carolyn Garrison Hughes. Also her adoring son-in - law Dennis Sellers preceded her in death.

Evelyn Haley was always known to be a virtuous woman. Her teaching on how to conduct her own life came from the bible. She was known as a positive person, always putting the needs of others before her own. She was honest and helpful to those who needed her influence. She was a friend to all not only in her thoughts, but also in her selfless deeds. Her calming peaceful ways were very apparent to others. Her life and actions were an example we can all emulate. Evelyn was well known for her fantastic cooking skills not to mention her hospitality! She never knew who her family was bringing home for Sunday dinner or how many, but she was always prepared.

Lawrence Perucca, Jr.

September 16, 1956 - July 8, 2022

Larry entered into lasting peace on July the 8th 2022.

Larry was Welcomed in to this world on September 16th,1956, along with his twin little sister to his parents Emeline Annette (Becker)Perucca and Lawrence John Perucca Sr. Larry was the most cherished brother to 5 sisters!! When Larry was a little older he moved was living in San Jose, California where he met and married his loving wife of 44 years Cheryl Lynn Perucca. Larry has been an extremely devoted loving father to his 3 daughters, Jamie Perucca, and her children that were lucky to have two titles from Larry (papa, father figure), Angelina Nixon (husband Jay Nixon) and then his son Larry Perucca the 3rd(wife Sharla Perucca) and his daughter Michelle Mitchell (husband Sammie Mitchell). Larry was such a devoted, loving, and FUN Grandfather aka PAPA..HE loved to play tricks on his grandchildren also with teaching them skills, like gun safety and dirt bike riding.

He is survived by grandchildren, Samantha, Jason and Natalie; Austin, Alexis, Andrew and Alijah; Larry the 4th, Michael and Daniel. Levi, SJ(Sam jr) and Jaxon. He is also survived by a host of nephew and nieces whom all got a taste of his humor, yet still greatly respected and loved him greatly.

Larry started this world as a mechanical genius. What others went to school for four years and still didn't quite get he achieved quite naturally and astonished others. Larry acquired a job at Toscano bakery San Jose, CA. where he started out as a mechanic but soon ended up in the engineering department. From there Larry moved to Galt California with his wife and children. After working at Toscano, Larry went to work Parisian bakery in San Francisco where he was an engineer for many years and was even promoted to assistant chief . After the closing of Parisian San Francisco, Larry went to work at Columbus bakery in Oakland where he remained until his retirement In 2012. But during his years as an engineer, even designed fabricated and installed a whole conveyor system that went from the oven all around the top of the building to one end of the building and back to cool the bread down and back to the bagging department. It was quite something!!! The words that Larry will be extremely missed are not big enough.

Manuel Rocha

October 3, 1928 - July 7, 2022

Manuel Francisco Rocha entered into lasting peace on Thursday, July 7, 2022, at his home in Stockton California. Manuel spent his 93 years of life in the Stockton area, where he met and married the love of his life Ernestine Perez.

Manuel is survived by his three loving daughters Lillian Sapien, Suzanne Pascual and Victoria Rocha, his sister Lupe Rocha, brother Danny Rocha, his 3 granddaughters, 6 great-grandchildren and beloved companion Molly, his dog. Manuel, a dedicated family man was cared for by his daughters who guided his passing in his home. Manuel was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Tony and Richard and sisters Virginia Zaragoza and Angie Cano.

Manuel was born to Trinidad Rocha and Mary Fries on October 3, 1928. He practiced automobile repair as a true master mechanic. Manuel was the Service Manager for several local auto dealerships, and at one time was the President of the Nissan Service Managers Group of California. Manuel’s most cherished employment was with Service Electric, where he maintained a fleet of vehicles, among his other responsibilities for over a decade.

SERVICES:

Services for Manuel will be held Thursday August 11, 2022 at 11:00am in the Evergreen Chapel located at Cherokee Memorial Park with a visitation before hand starting at 9:30am.

A committal will follow in the Garden of the Holy Family at 12:15pm.

Cecilia Zoe Murdock

March 20, 1943 - July 5, 2022

Cecilia Zoe Murdock, “Zoe,” of Lodi, CA, passed away peacefully at age 79 on July 5, 2022 surrounded by loved ones.

Born March 20, 1943 to Harold and Cecile Murdock in Idaho Falls, Idaho. Zoe spent much of her childhood in Stockton, CA and was the oldest of six siblings. She graduated in 1962 from Amos Alonzo Stagg High School.

After living briefly in Reno where her first job was a car hop at the Fro Stop Rootbeer Drive Inn, Zoe moved back to Stockton and began a twenty-year career in the restaurant industry, the majority spent waitressing at the Rare Steer Restaurant. Zoe also worked as a bus driver for Lodi Unified School District and delivery driver for Round Table Pizza.

In 1972, Zoe purchased her home in Lodi where she lived for nearly 44 years. It is there she raised her two daughters, Allyson and Alicia, and served as “neighborhood mom” to countless others. Whether it was a meal, a safe place to stay or a shoulder to lean on, Zoe exhibited a heart of gold to whomever crossed her path, and loved unconditionally. She always had time for her family and loved being with her grandchildren. To those who knew her, she was loved and admired. Zoe was amazing and definitely one-of-a-kind!

Zoe was predeceased by her daughter Allyson and granddaughter Lindsey, along with parents, Harold & Cecile; brother Hal; sister Kay and sister-in-law Mary. She is survived by her daughter Alicia (Rob) Smolke; sister, Fay Murdock; brothers, Joe Murdock and Dee Murdock; brother-in-law, Dennis Ellis; Grandchildren Melinda Ramirez, Justin Murdock, and Ryan Smolke; Great-grandchildren Levar Smith Jr., Ravel Smith and Alliyah Smith; Great-great grandson, Alijah Smith and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICES:

Services will be held Thursday, July 14, 2022 at the Cherokee Memorial Park Cemetery, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. in Lodi. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Evergreen Chapel, followed by graveside services at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Memories.

Stanley Williams

April 1, 1931 - July 5, 2022

On July 5, 2022, Stanley Vernon Williams passed from this world into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Stanley's life focused on serving the Lord Jesus Christ and being the cornerstone of his family. He loved his children and his many grandchildren, who brought joy to his life. Stanley enjoyed and loved attending their activities and spending time with them.

Throughout his life, he enjoyed being involved in the church. He not only shared the love of the Lord with his family but he shared it with the members of his church family as well. Stanley's cheerful and kind spirit has been a blessing to many. He acted as a greeter for the church and his warm and welcoming smile was often one of the first to be seen by those attending. His generosity to friends, neighbors, and employees is well known in the community.

Stanley Williams was born on April 1, 1931 in Ripon, CA to his loving parents John and Sadie Williams. On June 27, 1959 he married Teresa E. Williams. They resided in Lodi, CA raising their three children, Janette, Roger and Todd.

Stanley was proceeded in death by his wife Teresa, his parents John and Sadie (Bodeson). His siblings Francis “Roy,” Chester “Chet,” Leslie “Dean,” John “Lyle,” and youngest sister Sadie Mae (Wautier).

Stanley is survived by his children, Janette, Roger and Todd. His grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many extended family members that are blessed to have known him. He will be missed and forever be in our hearts.

SERVICES:

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 21st at 10:00 a.m. in the Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, at Cherokee Memorial Park with a viewing an hour prior.

Proceeding the memorial service there will be a procession to the gravesite with military honors.

Jack Kilgore

November 11, 1936 - July 5, 2022

Jack Lee Kilgore, Sr. 85, of Stockton, California, passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2022, at home with his family by his side.

Jack was born on November 11, 1936, in Portsmouth, Ohio to Robert and Thelma Kilgore. Jack relocated to Farmington, California, as a young boy with his family and worked at a dairy farm while attending school. Jack served in the United States Navy from 1955-1959 where he traveled across the South Pacific. Jack was stationed in Hawaii and San Diego. In 1957, Jack was aboard the U.S.S Walker I, where he was selected for advancement to Petty Officer Third Class and became an Interior Communications Electrician. After his service in the Navy, Jack moved to Stockton, California, where he continued to build his legacy. Jack was a true entrepreneur. He owned a car dealership, a restaurant / bar, was a real estate investor, and most notably owning and operating C & R Fence Contractors, Incorporated which will celebrate its 60th anniversary next year. Jack regularly gave back to the community. Jack was a faithful giver to St. Mary’s Dining Hall, Stockton Homeless Shelter, and St. Jude’s Research Hospital. Jack has been a member of the Stockton Elk’s Lodge, #218 since 1975; and served as the Exalted Ruler from 1982 to 1983.

Jack had an adventurous side and was a workaholic. He enjoyed old cars and having get togethers at his home. Jack owned and operated a personal airplane as well as captaining his 40 foot river queen houseboat.

Jack is preceded in death by his father, Robert Kilgore; his mother, Thelma Davis; his step-father, Jesse Davis; his sister Barbara Clark; and his brother Bobby Kilgore. Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 46 years, Connie Kilgore of Stockton, CA; his brother David Kilgore (Erin) of Post Falls, ID; his son Jack Kilgore, Jr. (Candi) of Ripon, CA, daughter Teresa Howell (Francis “Tripp”) of Stockton, CA, and daughter Margo Norris of Stockton, CA. Jack is also survived by seven grandchildren, Danny, Laura, Chance, Richie, Carolyn, Brittnee, and TJ. Jack is also survived by nine great grandchildren, Lucy, Jed, Emma, Rollie, Lennon, Vyra, Liam, Zoey, and Hazel; along with many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Jack’s family loves and misses him dearly. A special thank you to Hospice of San Joaquin County for their remarkable care and support.

SERVICES:

A memorial service will be held on July 20, 2022, at 1:00 PM, at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA with viewing on July 18 & 19, 12:00 - 3:00 PM.

After the service, a wake will be held at the Stockton Elk’s Lodge located at 8900 Thornton Road Stockton, CA.

Sean Barrett

September 13, 1991 – July 4, 2022

Sean Matthew Barrett, our loving son, father to Branden Barrett, brother, grandson, nephew, and friend has passed away July 4, 2022.

He was born September 13, 1991.  Growing up he enjoyed many hobbies such as fishing, playing music, building things.  He loved his pit bull companion, Sugar.  Sean attended Lincoln High School in Stockton, California before moving onto Mechanical Aeronautics school in Indianapolis, Indiana.  He wanted to further his education to become an engineer.  After his schooling was done, he took all sorts of jobs but his favorite was framing houses.

Sean suffered from a tragic accident in 2017.  He continued to fight for the next five years.  God has chosen to bring Sean home with him where Sean can walk and run again.

Sean will forever live on in our hearts and his memories will continue to put a smile on us.

SERVICES:

The visitation is Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 12:00 – 2:00pm Cherokee Memorial Park in the Vineyard Chapel located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd. in Lodi, CA with the service following in the same location.

A Celebration of Life will follow from 4:00 – 6:00pm at Lodi Lake.

David Sulzer

September 15, 1944 - July 4, 2022

David Elroy Sulzer, 77, passed away on July 4th, 2022, born in Delhi, Louisiana to Travis Sulzer and Mavis Thielman on September 15, 1944. He spent eight years in the SeaBee Naval battalion and went on to work as a heavy equipment operator.

David is survived by his wife Patricia Sulzer; siblings Jim sulzer, Nancy McCarty, and Beverly Morgen; children Chad Sulzer, Troy Sulzer, Kelly Felton, Tricia Velasquez, and Tracy Parker; grandchildren Mark Martinez, Alexia Felton, Dakota Sulzer,Courtney McGrew, Alyssa Torres, Michael Velasquez, Brandon Parker, Destint Niebuhr; Great grandchildren Klayton Davis, Rebrekah McGrew, Timothy McGrew, Chevy Sulzer, Kealyn Sulzer, Makelya Velasquez, Athena Velasquez, Alyssa Gerolage, Adyen Torres, Nayeli Torres, Tristden Niebuhr, Jr, Andrew Ruiz, Mia Ruiz, and Lillianne Ruiz.

David is preceded by his parent Travis and Maivs Sulzer, his sister Barbara Morgan and brother Doug Sulzer; and grandchildren James Martinez, Leah Felton, Tristden Niebuhr, and Brianne Niebuhr.

Kimberly Ann Possible

Kimberly passed away on July 1, 2022, on her 40th Birthday. Kim was an independent person with a strong personality. Kim was not afraid to push her limit or try new things. Kim had an unconditional love for her Children.

She is survived by her son and daughter Zachary and Coryna Hendrix of Stockton, daughters Kyla and Camryn Walton of Modesto, Candace Walton of Sacramento, son Michael Quinn of Bremerton Washington, her Mother Billie Ann Jones of Galt, brother’s Michael and wife Vonda Jones of Escalon, Terry and wife Tracey Jones of Kissimmee, Florida, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kim is preceded in death by her father Nathan Udogwu, Maternal Grandparents Billie T. and John E. Wheaton, brothers Bryon and Timothy Jones.
