Gavin Telitz

October 9, 2022 - August 31, 2022

Gavin was born October 9, 2002 in Stockton, California. He passed away on August 31, 2022 in Twenty Nine Palms, California.

Gavin is survived by his mother Kristen King; stepfather Kevin Griffin; brothers Gunner, Michael,Howard, Jeffery, Joey, Ricky; sisters Gracie and Rachel; grandmother Kelly Hardcastle of Oregon; grandparents Richard and Sandy Friend of Elk Grove; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father Howard “Rick” Telitz.

Gavin was a Lance Corporal, Infantryman in the United States Marines stationed at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twenty Nine Palms, California. He graduated in 2020 from Bear Creek High School in Stockton. During his senior year he participated in the physical training program at the Marine Recruiting Center. 

Gavin enjoyed listening to music, camping, running track, playing disk golf, attending family functions and spending time with friends and his Marine buddies. 

Gavin had a heart of gold and will be truly missed but never forgotten

Albert Woodward

November 22, 1924 - August 30, 2022

Albert James “Jim” Woodward November 22, 1924 – August 30, 2022, age 97, Stockton Ca. Born in Winnemucca, Nevada to Arthur and Leota (Gilbert) Woodward.

Jim is survived by his children Alan Woodward (Betsey) and Doris Benjamin (Larry), Grandchildren Jennifer Paddock (Josh), Andrew Woodward (Kimberly), Todd Woodward, Great-Grand’s Jasper Paddock and Shirley Paddock, and his sister, Marilyn Bailie. Jim’s wife Axzine pre-deceased him in 2013.

Jim was Career Navy, enlisting as a Seaman in 1943 and retiring as a LCDR in 1973. His last Duty Station was at Rough and Ready Island Navy Base, Stockton. He was a 4 war Veteran – WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and the Cold War. After retiring from the Navy, he attended Humphrey’s College and then he ran the business practices for Stockton Cardiology for many years. Jim was very active in the Rotary Club of Stockton, the Lincoln Presbyterian Church, and the Masonic Lodge.

Dad was an avid supporter of Read to Me, Stockton! He received their Silver Award for years of reading, only stopping when he became too frail to do so. Mom had been an early year’s elementary teacher, so he knew how important reading programs were. The kids also liked to hear of his WW2 stories.

Mom and Dad met in High School in Winnemucca. Mom grew up in the small ranching community of Paradise Valley about 40 miles north of Winnemucca. When they both graduated in 1943, Dad went into the Navy. In the summer of 1945, Dad’s ship returned from the Okinawa Campaign to Oakland for repairs, and Mom was in Sacramento attending school. They got married, a marriage that lasted 67 years until her passing. Thirty days later, his ship sailed back to the Pacific, expecting to participate in the Invasion of Japan. This ship was a “Command and Control Ship”, basically a transport ship and the Japanese knew what they were, that Admirals and Generals were aboard. Dad maintained Teletype and Cryptology systems on the ship. The war ended before the ship reached the Philippines, however Dad did not return stateside for 2 more years. He spent much of that time in China. His Navy career spanned 30 years and many duty assignments, including Hawaii, Guantanamo Bay Cuba, many West Coast Bases, and ended at Rough and Ready Island, Stockton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday October 1, 2022, at 2PM at the Lincoln Presbyterian Church, 900 Douglas Rd, Stockton, Ca.

In lieu of flowers, any donations in Jim's honor may be made to the Read To Me, Stockton! program at the Rotary Club of Stockton or a charity of your choice.

Jack Ingram

September 6, 1952 - August 29, 2022

Jack F. Ingram Jr. 69 years old of Stockton California Passed away on August 29, 2022 after a short and brave battle with cancer. Jack was born September 1952 to Jack and Jean Ingram of Stockton, CA. Jack graduated from UC Berkeley where he studied biology and specialized in Environmental studies. He most enjoyed his job at US Fish and Wildlife where he made many friends/ family and enjoyed spending hours on the river.

Jack retired in 2018 and spent his time traveling, reading, appreciating the arts, especially music and attending as many concerts as possible. He also spent time caring for his aging parents.

Jack is survived by his parents, Jack and Jean, his sisters, Janet Boxold (Bill), Jill and JeriAnn. Nephew Will Boxold and Niece, Alicia Boxold, along with many other Uncles, Aunts and Cousins.

Frank Van Buskirk

May 9, 1931 - August 28, 2022

Frank Justin Van Buskirk Jr. passed away peacefully August 28, 2022 in Stockton, CA at the age of 91. Frank was a beloved Father and Grandfather. He was born in Stockton to Rev. Frank Van Buskirk Sr. and Henrietta Van Buskirk (Weber). Frank attended Harmony Chapel Church in his youth where his father was pastor. He attended Stockton High School and served in the US Army from 1952-1954. Frank worked in the construction field as a carpenter and superintendent at Craft Construction in Stockton and companies in the Bay Area. Frank also worked as a San Joaquin County Building Inspector. He is preceded in death by his sister Amy Moore. Frank is survived by his daughter Francine Wall (Tom) grandson Sam Wall (Amanda) all of Stockton and grandson Will Wall of Aurora IL. Four great grandsons Abel, Billy, Ben and Charlie. Two nieces Charlene Lauderdale and Linda Moore of Stockton.

Since Feb. 2021 Frank resided at the Oaks at Inglewood Assisted Living. We thank them for their care.

Services will be held September 16th at 12 pm at Cherokee Memorial Evergreen Chapel. Committal immediately following at Sierra View Mausoleum

Brian Josef Lagorio

Minden, NV - February  11, 1959 – July 30th, 2022

With deep sadness, we share Brian Josef Lagorio chose to end his journey on Earth on July 30th, 2022.

Brian, with his quick wit, humor, and never ending knowledge, could light the darkest of rooms.  He was lively, strong-willed, kind and loved to make people laugh. He was one of the most dedicated, selfless, hardworking and accomplished men whose ultimate goal was to give his beautiful wife and two sons the life they deserve. He truly lived for his wife, Vicki Lagorio, and the boys. 

Brian left an immeasurable impression on every person he encountered. He was simple, happy, full of life, and he spread that to those around him. Unbeknownst to most in his life, he did not save enough light for himself. 

No one was aware of the darkness Brian faced when alone or the impossible self image a perfectionist sets for themselves. Vehemently private, Brian did not discuss his darkness with others; we did not hear of or see his increasingly, all-consuming pain. It is impossible to prepare for the harsh reality of losing a loved one, especially a parent at such a young age. To lose Brian in this manner is incomprehensible. It has left behind a desperate longing to understand. His death has left us in painful and permanent ways as suicide is a complicated end.

The desperation, pain and despair Brian must have endured, to feel it best to leave his children and family is heartbreaking. Brian believed we could live without him’ although we disagree with the choice we will draw strength from his legacy to continue on. We will carry Brian’s legacy with us – his warmth, intelligence, strength and can-do mindset. 

We will carry him in his wholeness. We will see him in the faces and mannerisms of his two sons. We will heal, we will grow stronger, we will laugh, we will cry; life will never be the same without Brian. He is sorely missed. We are a family who lives with joy and disappointment, sadness and love, trials and triumphs, laughter and tears; we remember, we tell stories, we pray, we hope, and most of all..we love.

We take comfort in knowing we will be together again one day and that our father, brother, and friend has found his way to the comforting arms of our Savior as well as his best friend and soulmate, in this lifetime and the next, Vicki. 

Brian is survived by his brother, Kevin Lagorio, his sons James with wife Bernadette, Josef, and his grandchildren Jack and Lyra.

Brian’s Memorial Service will be held on August 27th, 2022, at 10 am at Cherokee Memorial Park, Vineyard Chapel, 14165 N. Beckman Rd. Lodi, CA.

Following the services, there will be a Celebration of Life at the Linden’s Lions Club from 12:30pm at 5041 N Market St, Linden, CA 95236.

Frances Margaret Constancio

March 29, 1932 - August 14, 2022

Frances Margaret Constancio passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 14, 2022.  She was “90 and Fabulous”!  Frances was born in French Camp, California on March 29th, 1932, to Natividad and Maria Cardona.  She grew up in Brentwood, California and later moved to Stockton, California, which would remain her permanent home.  On June 17, 1961, she married the love of her life, Ramon “Ray” Constancio.  Ray and Frances were married for 50 years, and together they raised their 5 children, Frank, Virginia, Rebecca, Mona and Richard.

Naturally hard working, Frances enjoyed working as a nurse for 40 years at St. Joseph’s Hospital.  Nursing was truly her calling, and her patients and their families constantly expressed their gratitude for the gentle, loving and compassionate care she would give them.  During her free time, Frances enjoyed playing Bingo and Gin Rummy, taking a ride to the casino, baking and cooking.  Above all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.  She especially loved “Family Dinner Nights”, where she would bless her family with delicious dinners, homemade tortillas “as big as the plate”, and scrumptious homemade cakes.

At only 4 foot 11 inches tall, Frances was a small, but strong woman, who had a HUGE impact on her family and blessed them with wonderful memories.  She was a devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by those who loved and knew her. 

Frances is preceded in death by her husband, Ramon “Ray” Constancio; her parents, Maria and Natividad Cardona; her siblings, Annie Forsythe, Bruno Cardona, Sally Vigil, Lucille Maes and Mary Dutra;  her son-in-law, John Chavez and her granddaughter, Stella Chavez.

Frances is survived by her sons, Frank Alveras and Richard Constancio; her daughters Virginia Chavez, Rebecca Chavez and Mona Amador (Ron); 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and her brother John Cardona.

Marie Marino

June 24, 1931 - August 25, 2022

Marie Marino – loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother – was born in Lamar, Oklahoma on June 24, 1931 and passed away on August 25, 2022 at the age of 91. She is reunited with her beloved husband Ernie, as well as her mother Eva, father Charlie (King) and her beloved brothers and sisters.

Marie moved from Oklahoma to California when she was 10 years old, eventually settling in Stockton and graduating from Stockton High. She would fondly tell the story of how she met the love of her life, Ernie – as a last minute replacement on a blind date back in 1950. They were married on April 1, 1955 (a date picked by Ernie, a jokester at heart). A dedicated mother and homemaker, Marie, together with Ernie, built a wonderful family. Once Ernie retired, they enjoyed traveling across country in their motorhome. In later years, they were members of The Tracy Wildlife Association. They enjoyed vacationing at their Lake Tahoe timeshare as well. Wherever Marie and Ernie were, there would be food and drink, family and friends, laughter and good times.

Our dear Marie is survived by son Dale Marino and wife Melanie (grandson Brandon Marino and Jessica -  great grandchildren Carson, Brooke and Aria; granddaughter Stacy Siville and husband Kevin – great grandson Trevor; grandson Nicholas Marino and wife Tzitzitlini - great grandchildren Robert and Alessandra); son Daniel Marino (grandson Justin Marino and wife Kelsey - granddaughters Audrina and Aria; granddaughter Kelsey Marino); and son Mark Marino and wife Trisha (granddaughters Taylor and Lauren).

Marie will be missed, but never forgotten. We will forever remember her infectious laugh and easy going nature. It was these very qualities that gained her many friends in her years spent without Ernie at Oakmont of Brookside. She made an impact on all those she befriended. The family would like to thank the caring staff at Oakmont, many of whom loved our Marie just as we did.

Ernie Peterson

December 12, 1931 - August 24, 2022

Ernest “Ernie” Hans Peterson, 90, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2022, with his family by his side in Stockton, CA.

Ernie was born December 12, 1931, in Arlington California to George and Leota Peterson.

Ernie served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a Railroad Engineer.

In January 1953, Ernie met Frances on a blind date and they married in July that same year and went on to have 4 children.

In 1993, Ernie, retired from Southern Pacific Railroad after 43 years as a Railroad Engineer. He then traveled all over the United States with his wife going to Sprint Car Races. He also enjoyed a variety of sports and playing cribbage.

Ernie is survived by his wife of 70 years, Frances Beatrice Peterson, their 4 children and their spouses, Danny Peterson (Melinda), Deborah Perkins, Darrell Peterson (Chong), Darla Berg (Ron); his 8 grandchildren; his 18 great-grandchildren; his 2 great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings Charlene Coburn and Shirley Von Gunten.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Peterson and Leota Hill; his siblings Don, Norman, and Charlotte Peterson; his grandchildren Jeffery Berg and Billy Faultner; and his great-grandson, Bradley Lynch.

Rest Papa and well done.
