Jerry Baker

April 21, 1936 - September 27, 2022

Jerry Allen Baker was born April 21, 1936, in Bristol, Oklahoma. He was raised by his dad, Virgil Baker and mom Muriel (Mann) Baker in San Francisco, CA, Richmond, CA, and in Hobbs, New Mexico. He was adventurous and athletic as a child and recounted stories of riding the streetcar to Playland Beach, moving to a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment with his dad, mom, and two brothers, playing baseball and basketball, and getting suspended from Harry Elles Jr. High School for pulling a 7th grader’s pants down. He attended and graduated from Richmond High School with high marks and joined the Air Force. While serving in the Air Force he met and married his first wife, Eve, in Louisiana where he was stationed in 1956. Jerry and Eve had three daughters: Deborah, Cathy, and Vicki, but divorced in 1960. In 1962 jerry met his second wife, Rosella, in Castro Valley, CA, Rosella had six children from a previous marriage: Paul, James, Sharon, Shirley, Sandi, and John. Jerry married Rosella in 1964 and blended the two families. Jerry was a very devoted father and always made sure his wife and nine children were well taken care of. Rosella became ill and passed away in 2013, they had been together for 51 years.

In 2015 Jerry met Patsy through friends.  They checked each other out through social media and found they had many things in common.  Their first date was at the Redwood Café in Modesto, it went very well – love at first sight!  Their relationship grew over the following years as they traveled and decorated their home in Manteca together.  When Jerry became ill Patsy remained by his side and lovingly cared for him.

Jerry loved to spend his free time playing golf.  He was an active member of the SIRS (Sons In Retirement) Branch 164 in Manteca where he played golf and became the Treasurer for the group.

Jerry was very friendly and could strike up a conversation with almost anyone he met. He was known for being very good with math and numbers. He was also very athletic and loved to play and watch golf. After retiring from his career working in the bread business, Jerry found his dream job working as a marshal at the Poppy Ridge Golf Course in Livermore, Ca. He also attended the Grace Community Church in Lathrop.

Olga Heredia

October 7, 1946 - September 27, 2022

Olga M.Heredia of Ione, CA has headed up the highway to heaven on September 27, 2022 surrounded by her husband Richard, son Moses, & adopted son-GI Joe. Olga was born in McAllen, TX on October 7, 1946. In the late 50’s, Olga's parents Ofelia & Carlos Morales made a family move to San Jose, CA. Eventually, Olga met her husband, Ricardo/Richard, at Starlight Night club in San Jose, CA, where he asked her to dance and she first refused; but, there was no stopping Ricardo from reeling in the women of his dreams. Essentially, Ricardo captured the heart of Olga and they married on June 24, 1972 in San Jose, CA. As their love continued to grow, so did their family and so, they made their move down to Stockton, CA in the early 1980s. By this time, they had 3 children: Ricardo, Ophelia, & Moses. In early 2008, Olga & Ricardo bought their dream home in Lathrop, CA, where they built many years of memories with family & friends. Once Richard retired in 2017, they both moved to the Camanche Lake area (Ione, CA) because Olga wanted to be closer to the lake or have a lake view. Undeniably, Olga was a strong fighter and an empowered phenomenal woman who did not let any physical challenges or obstacles affect her from living a long fortunate, beautiful, and radiant life with the people she loved most.

Olga is survived by Richard, her husband of 50 years, her son Moses & Ricky, her daughter, Ophelia. Olga is also survived by her sister Yvette, Sonia, & Sandra. Known to her grandchildren as “Nana/Bubee”, Olga is survived by her grandchildren, Junior & Xsence Perez, Idalis, Zoe, Ricki, & Chloe Heredia and great-grandchildren Raven & Robin . She is also survived by both son-in-laws Giovanni Berrios-Heredia & Gilberto Perez, and daughter-in-law Christine Heredia. And, survived by her two favorite fur babies Hashtag & Buttercup.

Olga was faced with a Polio diagnosis in the 1940’s and consequently, endured multiple experimental procedures from 18th month until the end. Consequently, it enabled her to participate & march at 18-months—well into her adulthood alongside her children for the March of Dimes.
