Laura Jean Wheeler Tower

Laura was born in Tracy, California. As a young woman she moved to Stockton and worked until she met the love of her life Willard Arthur “Bill” Tower. They married September 19, 1954 and were married for more than 69 years. They had two children, Willard “Will” Tower and Glenda Duyst.
Laura was extremely involved with many community, state, and national organizations throughout the years as well as working with the Agriculture in the Classroom Foundation for 25 years. She had many leadership positions with California Women for Agriculture, American Agri-Women, PTA, 4-H, United Methodist Church, FFA, and was a trustee for the Escalon Unified Schools. Laura was always an advocate for agriculture, education, and diversity. She received many awards for her dedication to various groups but would rather be remembered for working hard more than any accolades she received.
Laura’s most important roles were sister, wife, mother, and “Grammy”. She leaves behind her husband Bill, daughter and son-in-law Glenda Tower Duyst and Robert Duyst, grandchildren Laury Ann Duyst, Bobby and wife Zarah Duyst. She also leaves behind her loving brother Frank Wheeler who loved and admired all her accomplishments and sister-in-law Darlene Wheeler. She also leaves behind her beloved sister-in-law Carol Tower Blackwell who was her roommate and who introduced Laura to her husband Bill. Many other family members and friends were blessed to have known Laura.
She will be greeted in heaven by her son Will who predeceased her.
Micah 6:8 “And what does the Lord require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”

Donna Jo Anderson was the most loving and caring mother, sister, and friend. She left this world after a long, courageous battle with dementia on June 9, 2023 at age 68. She was born to Bob and Vivian Anderson on July 3, 1954. She is survived by her two children Douglas Peters and Lyndsay Burnett, sister Susan Riley and brother Steven Anderson. She became a licensed cosmetologist after graduating high school and worked as a hairdresser for more than 30 years. She was creative and loved crafting and was quite good at it. A funeral service is being held on Friday June 30, 2023 at Cherokee Memorial Park located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240. A visitation will be from 10 am-12 pm at the Vineyard Chapel, the service will be from 12-1 pm and a reception will follow at Micke Grove Park.

Clara Belle Summers passed away on June 8, 2023. She was born in Delaware County, Oklahoma on December 10, 1933, she was 89 years old. She was raised in Stockton and attended Stockton Unified Schools. In 1950 she met and married the love of her life, Monroe “Chuck” Summers. They had been married for more than 72 years.
She is survived by her husband, Chuck Summers and her children, Brenda Flood (Timothy), Gary Summers (Jackie), Larry Summers (Elaine) and Scott Summers (Lisa). She has 11 grandchildren, Stacie, Kristin, Alicia, Chonta, Gary Jr., Emilie, Ashlee, Christopher, Joshua, Kayleigh and Shannon. She also has 10 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and has had many friends over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vern and Helen Tillery, her sisters, Donna Burch and Patricia Hammel and her daughter, Tammy Dohring. Clara was a stay-at-home mom and homemaker who was devoted to her family. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going to church, camping,traveling, tending her roses in her yard, collecting dolls and going to her TOPS meetings. She was a wonderful cook who loved to sew and knit in her sparetime.
Clara was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School for the 2-3 year olds for many years. She loved teaching the little ones and singing them songs, “Jesus Loves Me” and “Jesus Loves the Little Children” were always her favorites.
Clara was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank the Wagner Heights staff and the Prime Hospice staff for the compassionate care that was given to their mother in her final days.
