Elvia Nava

June 29, 1946 - September 10, 2023

Elvia Nava was born June 29,1946 to Manuel and Maria Rodriguez. She passed away unexpectedly September 10,2023. She was born in Nuevo Leon, Mexico and came to Lodi area at the age of 7 years old. She was the eldest of three siblings; Americo, Javier and Ruben Rodriguez. She then became a devoted mother to four children, Norma Flores, Cesar Flores, Elizabeth Nava and Iselda Nava. Elvia was a hard loyal employee of Big Lots for 25+ years and enjoyed working until her last day. She enjoyed dancing with friends every weekend and planned to dance until the end because it made her happy. She was also a loving grandmother to six grandchildren; Steven Garza, Gabriel Nava, Desiree Nava, Celeste McCoy, Isaac McCoy,and Angel Zuniga. She was a good beautiful person and will forever be remembered, loved and missed by all who knew her.

Bennie "Ben" Ring

February 10, 1930 - September 8, 2023

Ben Gust Ring passed away on September 8th, 2023 following a short illness. He was born in Sykeston, North Dakota on February 10th, 1930 to Gust and Lydia Ring. Ben was number 6 in the family of 9 children. The Ring family moved from North Dakota to Lodi in 1940 when Ben was 10 years old. As a child he attended Henderson School and graduated from Lodi High School in 1948.
After high school, Ben was a member of the California National Guard with which he served 10 years. Also at this time he attended trade school for Sheet Metal construction.
Ben was a lifelong fisherman and loved to fish the waters of the Delta, Lake Tahoe, and Lake Topaz. His favorite vacation spots included Lake Tahoe and Reno. His favorite sports teams were the SF Giants and the SF 49ers.
Ben is survived by his son Ron Ring (Debbie) of Stockton, daughter Melissa Bogges (Walter) of Gresham, Oregon, grandsons Brandon Ring and Aaron Ring (Katie) both of Stockton, great-grand daughter Ellie Ring great-Grand son Carson Gardner, both of Stockton, sisters Vivian Rostomily and Darlene MacDonald, both of Lodi.
Ben was preceded in death by his wife Lilly Ring, his parents, sisters Vera Duggan, Dorothy Guianen, Eva Santos, Betty Lee, brothers Edwin RIng, and Raymond Ring.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 19th, at 10:00am at Cherokee Memorial Park. A visitation will be held in the Merlot Room at Cherokee Memorial Park on Monday, September 18th, from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meals on Wheels, 105 S. Washington Street, Lodi, CA or the Make-A-Wish foundation.

Our loving father and life time companion has gone home to heaven way to soon at the age of 60. Stanley AKA dad, pa, you're man Stan, dedicated 30 years to Bear Creek winery as a maintenance supervisor. Took pride in everything he did! And took even bigger pride in his family! Stanley was an avid bass fisherman and duck hunter always loved being outdoors. He leaves behind 4 kids and the love of his life that loved him unconditionally. 2 son's. 2 daughter's and an unborn grandson.
You'll always be missed Stan the Man.

Frank Warren

July 8, 1941 - September 3, 2023

Frank Leon Warren died peacefully in his home, surrounded by his family in Lodi, CA at the age of 82. Frank is survived by his daughter, Melisa Shepherd (Tim), and his son Brian Warren. Four grandchildren (Joshua, Jessica, Jacob, and Jamie) and one great grandchild (Charleigh).

He is preceded in death by his wife Nellie “Maxine” Warren.

Frank was born July 8th 1941 in Lucas County Ohio to Harry Warren and Gladys Jensen. During high school he volunteered for the US Navy Reserve. After graduating high school he became active US Navy and was honorably discharged March 31, 1961.

Frank loved camping, woodworking, bowling, and baseball (especially the Oakland Athletics). Frank was a generous individual who loved his family.

SERVICES:

A memorial service is scheduled at 10:00 AM Saturday September 16th at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA with a reception to follow.

Richard Anthony Cardozo

October 8, 1950 ~ September 3, 2023

Richard "Rick" Anthony Cardozo, 72, of Stockton, California, passed away peacefully on September 3, 2023, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on October 8, 1950, in Modesto, to Albert "Tony" A. Cardozo and Pauline "Mimi" Estelle Cardozo. Rick was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Juline Schmitz, and brother "Mickey" Cardozo. He is survived by his wife, Kay Botiller; his children, Nicole Cardozo-Cordova and Shelby Cardozo; his stepchildren, Kristin Ranuio and Brian Botiller; and his grandchildren.
Rick was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. A well know and respected attorney in both Stanislaus and San Joaquin Counties for 47 years, he enjoyed spending his free time with his family and many friends. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Cherokee Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Lodi. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a charity of your own choosing.
Rest in peace, Rick. You will be forever in our hearts.

Julia Saffold

July 21, 1932 - September 3, 2023

 On Sunday, September 3, 2023, Mother Julia Saffold peacefully transitioned from this earthly life, at the age of 91. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Martha Edmerson; husband Amos Saffold, Sr.; grandson Rodney Shaw; and 5 brothers and 2 sisters.

Mother Julia Saffold leaves to mourn her passing daughters Jeanette Hale, Sharon Saffold, Karen Blount (Darrel), and Valencia Saffold; son Amos Saffold, Jr; grandchildren Edwin Lee (Antionette) Chondra Shaw, Megan Matthews (Micah), Amos Saffold, III, Marcus Hale, Dion Hale (Olivia), Lindsey Sherman (Lawrence), Evan Clayton (LaRon); 21 great grandchildren, half-brother Cliff Fanning, 8 sisters-in-love and 4 brothers-in-love, numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, church families, and friends.

 

Visitation:

The visitation for Julia will be held on Thursday September 14, 2023 from 5:30 - 7:30pm in the Merlot room at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home, 14165 Beckman Rd. in Lodi, California.

Services:

The services for Julia will be held the following day on Friday September 15, 2023 at the Progressive Community Church located at 2820 S B St in Stockton, California.
