Roberta Brown

Roberta Marie Brown
July 28, 1941-December 12, 2023

Loving wife, mother, and grandmother, Roberta Brown was born on July 28, 1941 in the small coastal community of Charleston, Oregon and was raised by, and grew up with her parents Robert and Mary White, in Glasgow, a beautiful wooded area of North Bend, Oregon, only a few miles from her birthplace. She passed away on December 12, 2023 in Stockton, California after a long illness. She is survived by her husband Al, sons Jeremy (of Lathrop, California) and John Kendall (of Turlock, California), daughter Debbie Kendall (of Clifton, Colorado), and grandchildren Zachary (of Lathrop, California) and Zoe (of San Francisco, California).

There will be a Celebration of Life service to honor Roberta on February 3, at 1:00 pm in the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in Lodi, California.

Roberta was a testament to a life well lived, marked with a profound love for family, friends, music, teaching, and her strong, unwavering faith in Jesus Christ.

Her musical journey started early as she played flute and piano, as well as sang in choirs and various musical productions throughout grade school and high school. She was even drum major in her high school marching band and a founding member of a female vocal trio that was quite popular. She sang professionally throughout the 1960’s and 1970’s. With her husband Al this took her in both club and concert venues. Their faith eventually placed them in many church performances involving both praise and worship and full concerts.

Roberta loved children and was a teacher’s aid at Tully C. Knowles in Stockton for 27 years. This soon led to her directing children’s choirs and Christmas concerts at church.

Roberta was really defined by her role as loving wife, mother, and grandmother. For 54 years she shared her life with Al; her boundless love for her family, her zest for life, and her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of her life. The emotional and spiritual connection she had with her children and grandchildren was unparalleled. She was an inspiration to all and will be deeply missed. Her spirit lives on in the memories and lives of everyone who knew her.
