Thelma Leong Yim
January 10, 1920 - December 5, 2025

Thelma was born on January 10,1920 in San Francisco Chinatown.  She was first child follow by two sisters and two brothers.  Her Father was businessman and her mother worked at clothing factory.  After graduated from high school, Thelma worked for insurance company.  She also joined Chinese Music Club where she played Chinese Harp. 

In 1940, she and her friends involved political movement to stop U.S. selling scrape iron to Japan who murdered many Chinese Women and Children in China.

In 1947, Thelma met Vincent Yim.  They married in 1948 and moved to Stockton to start the Temple Bell Shirts & Gift shop.  She managed the store while Vincent made custom clothing for customers.  Thelma also made Chinese outfit.  In 1960, when one of her Chinese outfits was show at premier of the movie “The World of Suzie Wong” at Stockton Fox Theater.  In 1968, one of Thelma’s friends talk her into getting a job at Stockton Library.  Thelma worked at Stockton Library for 25 years before retiring.  When Thelma and Vincent retired from the store in 1988, they started to travel many places and visited friends and family members.

She contributed cook book receipts at St. Marks Methodist Church.  She had been participating Chinese Cooking at annual Spring Festival and Chinese New Years Festival for more than 10 years.

When Thelma was 103 years old, her caregiver company invited her to make a commercial and training video.

Thelma was survived by her son Johnny, daughter-in-law Donna, and Granddaughter Elyza.

SERVICES
Thelma's funeral will be held at Lodi Cherokee Memorial Park Evergreen Chapel (14165 Beckman Road, Lodi Ca 95240) on December 20, 2025.  Viewing from 12:00 – 1:00 pm, services from 1:00 pm-2:30 pm.  Reception 3:30 pm at China Palace Restaurant (5052 West Lane 4C, Stockton, CA. 95210)

Bertha Wagner

January 14, 1927 - December 5, 2025

Bertha Pauline Miller Wagner, age 98, of Stockton, Ca. Joined her Husband of 50 yrs on December 5, 2025.

She was born January 14, 1927 in Hartford, Connecticut. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert P Wagner whom passed April 17, 1995.

Bertha was a homemaker raising 3 children while traveling the United States as a Navy Wife. In retirement they lived in Yuma, Arizona and enjoyed traveling the country in RV’s. (KOFA Kampers 190, and Escapees RV Club) She also enjoyed being in Eastern Star 14, Scottish Rite Temple of Tucson. She moved back to Stockton to be closer to Richard’s family. She was an 8 year resident of The Commons and thoroughly enjoyed their craft projects and activities.

Survivors include daughter Nancy Culton of Sparks, son Richard J Wagner( Cindy) of Stockton, and son Robert P. Wagner ll (Renee) of Winchester Ky. Grandchildren Chuck Mullaney (Cindy), Robert Mullaney (Lynz), Kelly Wagner, Kimberly Trammel (Tim), Richard K. Wagner, Tanille Mendenhall, Marissa, Reese and Zhane Wagner. Great-grand children: George Trammel, Zachery Wagner, Liam Vosberg, Tarynn Mendenhall, , Dylan and Riley Mullaney.

Robert “Bob” George Hinkle, age 67, of Lodi, passed away unexpectedly on December 3, 2025. Bob enjoyed motorcycle riding all his life. He is survived by his wife Kathy of 31 years, his mother, Leah of Stockton, his sister, Terrie of Stockton. His step-daughter Christine, three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, all of Colorado.

Albert Louis Tschantz-Hahn Jr.

Albert Louis Tschantz-Hahn Jr.
September 29, 1935 - December 2, 2025

Albert Tschantz-Hahn Jr., age 90 of Stockton, CA peacefully passed away in his home on December 2nd , 2025.

Albert (affectionately known as Buzz) was born in Oakland, CA on September 29th, 1935. He attended Lodi High School and went on to complete photography and art classes in college. He proudly served in the United States Army for 2 years from 1958-1960. He worked for California State Automobile Association as a Claims Specialist for over 30 years.

Buzz is survived by his loving wife Janice, two children Michael Tschantz-Hahn, Janine Tschantz-Hahn (Joe) and 3 stepchildren- Debbie Alter (Rod), Mark Womble and David Womble.

Grandpa (Papa Buzz) loved all of his grandkids and they loved him too!- Cole, Elsa, Alyse (Hugo), Jakob (Henley), Jordyn, Matthew (Erica), Andrew (Noel), Danny, Jeremy, Kayla (Zac), Kyle, Jenna, and great-grandkids- Caileigh, Leighton, Sophia, Jeremy Jr., Jayce, Payslee, Vivian, Colton, Wrenley, and Benny. It was always an exciting time for the grandkids to see what Papa Buzz was up to on the property that they could join in and “help”. He was very patient and made clean up and projects so much fun.

Buzz was predeceased by his parents, Albert L. Tschantz-Hahn and Ruth A. Vaughan of Stockton, CA. Buzz and Jan were high school sweethearts who parted ways and then rekindled their relationship after both divorced. They were married at the Wine & Roses Inn, Lodi, CA in 1990. Buzz frequently pulled out a picture of a young beautiful Jan from high school and shared the story of their high school breakup and then getting back together later in life. This merging of families allowed for many special family events and wonderful memories for all kids and grandkids.

Buzz and his golden retriever Goldie were well known around town. He trained Goldie as a service dog and dedicated so much time to regularly visiting convalescent facilities with her, which truly made a difference to the residents. You could also find them at the local dog parks, where Buzz loved to talk to random dog owners. He always had a good story, bringing smiles to all he met.

Buzz was skilled with numerous talents including photography, painting, jewelry making, crafts, welding, waterskiing, working on cars/motorcycles/boats, fly fishing and maintaining a beautiful yard. He was always eager to include and teach others what he knew, especially about photography, and took so much pleasure in seeing what they would create. He had a knack of seeing creatures in nature’s landscape and would photograph them. Sometimes we had to squint or turn the photo sideways to see what he saw, but ultimately, we’d agree.

He was a devoted father and loved to travel with his children. He retrofitted a van into a camper, and used that van to take Michael and Janine all over the Western U. S. for beach trips, camping adventures, BMX and motorcycle races. He also loved to be out on the water, taking his family and friends on countless boating and waterskiing adventures. He was the dad that was the envy of the neighborhood kids, always there with the garage open to help fix a bike or skateboard.

Buzz had an amazing team of caregivers over the last several years- Glenn, John, Maria, Andrew and Janette who all loved him and took very good care of him. He also received services from Bristol Hospice who provided many services from a great team of caring professionals. Our family wants to thank them all for many years of wonderful care, support and kindness.

Many neighbors knew Buzz and appreciated his friendship as a great neighbor.

Buzz, Dad, Papa Buzz, we will miss you!

Albert will be cremated and no services are planned at this time.

Larry Medrano

June 7, 1940 - December 1, 2025

Larry Robert Medrano passed away on December 1st, 2025, and is survived by children John Medrano, Alissa Ferguson, Tanya Medrano, Lisa Medrano (Daughter-In-Law); grandchildren Jessica Medrano and Emily Medrano; great-grandchild Ivan Medrano; sister Socorro Bell; and many godchildren, nieces, nephews, and their families. He is preceded in death by his wife Genevieve Medrano; and parents, Ramon R. Medrano and Ysabel J. Medrano.

Mary Louise Klevan

Mary Louise Klevan

Obituary

Early on Sunday morning, November 30th , Mary Louis Klevan, a Stockton resident for over 72

years passed away peacefully in her home with members of her family by her side. Mary was

104 years young. She was born on June 29 th, 1921, in Riva Tregoso, Italy to Giovanni and

Augusta Canepa and as a baby traveled by boat across the sea to America and ending up in

beautiful Monterey California. Mary grew up in a large and loving Italian family with many

brothers, sisters, and cousins. As the oldest sibling, many of the family responsibilities fell upon

her. At an early age, she worked in the canneries on Cannery Row, served as an Au pair for a

Monterey area family, and did various other jobs to help support her family. Mary was a proud

graduate of Monterey High School! With the start of World War II, Mary and daughter Lenora,

her mama and papa and younger brothers Louie and Dominic along with nearly all of the

Monterey area Italian community were relocated by the government from their home in New

Monterey to an area in Sand City nearer to Fort Ord. Soon after, Mary returned to Monterey and

worked for the phone company as a long-distance operator. She met a young soldier named

Stanley Klevan and a romance soon developed. At the War’s conclusion and under the GI Bill,

Stan attended the College of the Pacific in Stockton where he earned a degree in journalism

and landed a job with The Stockton Record newspaper. Mary and Stan were soon married and

moved to Tracy, his first assignment as a reporter. They relocated to Lodi where their two

children Janette and Robert were born. In 1955, they purchased a home in Stockton, the same

home where Mary lived for the rest of her life. Stan and Mary were active with their church, The

First Congregational Church, had many friends, and often traveled with the family to Monterey

and elsewhere including a cross-country trip to New York to visit Stan’s family. Stan passed

away in April 1990. Mary continued to stay active in her church, served as a Board member for Plymouth Square, played golf, and generally stayed active until her passing.

She is survived by her daughters Lenora Leoni and Janette Klevan, and by her son Robert (Nicki) Klevan, as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to a charity of your choice or to the First Congregational Church of Stockton.

Rebecca Elizabeth Nabors, 83, Stockton, California passed away on November 12, 2025. She was proceeded in death by her parents, John Brown Gibson and Mae Henri Elkins; Son, Marcellus Demetrius Nabors, III. She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Jesse Lee Nabors, Sr. Her beloved children: Sherri Nabors, Tejia Ray (Mike); Jesse L. Nabors, Jr, (Tasha); and David Springer. 

Public viewing will be held on December 5, 2025, from 2pm-7pm at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240. Funeral services will be held at Central Methodist Church at 3700 Pacific Ave., Stockton, CA, on December 6, 2025 at 11 AM.

Rebecca, a former Stockton City Council woman in District 6 worked diligently to make improvements to her district as well as the entire City of Stockton. Rebecca Nabors taught school in the Stockton Unified School District for 38 years. For 10 years, she was the Director of Education Extended Campus, a program that she founded and organized for at- risk students. She also served as a Career Developer for the San Joaquin County Office of Education and was the first African-American work experience educator for Stockton Unified School District. She was a member of Stockton Teachers Association. She was recognized by the Stockton Police Department for her dedicated volunteer services to make Stockton a better and safer place to live. She was former president of Stockton Alumnae Chapter and a lifetime member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Obituary

Johnnie R Johnson, was born January 4, 1956 in Fort Campbell, Kentucky. Where his father Russell Johnson was stationed in the army. Johnnie resided in Stockton California most of his life even until his death. He had one child, Frank A. Johnson. He also had one surviving sibling, Carol Noviskie. He worked for Bobcat Central for 28 years. Something he was very proud of was his work ethic. As his son said, he embodied the term “Shade tree mechanic” anything from using an RV to fix a car frame to stellar paint jobs. Johnnie passed away on November 28, 2025. He will be truly missed.
