OBITUARY

It is with great sadness that the family of Isabelle Aman announces her passing on July 9, 2026, at the age of 89.

Isabelle was born on May 26,1937 to Joe and Alice Valente and was raised in Lodi, California. Isabelle was the devoted wife of Norman Aman. Together they built a life rooted with love and faith. Isabelle found great joy traveling throughout the United States with Norm in their motorhome, creating countless cherished memories along the way.

For 30 years, Isabelle faithfully served others as a registered nurse in Tracy, California. Her compassion, professionalism, and dedication to caring for others touched the lives of countless patients and coworkers before her retirement in 1991.

Isabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Alice Valente; her sister, Maryann Jones; and her beloved daughter-in-law, LuJuana Aman.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 64 years, Norman Aman; her children, Curtis Aman and James (Brenda) Aman; her grandchildren, Joseph Aman, Jessica (Carlos) Kauffman, David Martin, Estrella Aman, Jordan (Brady) Aman, and Emily Aman; and her seven great- grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Ann Tiffee (Bill), along with many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Family and friends are warmly invited to attend as they gather to celebrate Isabelle’s life and honor her memory.

Rick Rust

In Loving Memory of Rick Rust

September 10, 1959 – July 9, 2026

Rick Rust of Stockton, California, passed away on July 9, 2026, at the age of 66, leaving behind a family who loved him dearly and countless friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and unmistakable sense of humor.

Rick was the proud father of three children: Spencer Rust, Matt Rust, and Amy (Jameel) Ali. He was a devoted grandfather to his beloved granddaughters, Sophia and Ava, who brought him tremendous joy. He is also survived by his former wife, Kathy Jean Rust. Rick and Kathy were married on March 16, 1982.

He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sharron Rust, and his siblings: Ty (Julie) Rust, Debbi (John) Gable, Kristi (Jeff) South, Melanie (Dan) McCorvey, Patti (Nate) McBride, and Robert Rust. He was preceded in death by his father, Dean Carvel Rust. Rick also leaves behind many cherished nieces and nephews: Lee, Brian, Robert, Jilliann, Andrew, Morgan, Sadie, Lucy, Norman, Katherine, Steven, Sidney, and Lily, along with many extended family members and dear friends.

Rick proudly served his country in the United States Navy as an aviation mechanic. During his military service, he lived in several places, including Spain, Portugal, Maine, and Florida. His years in the Navy instilled in him a strong work ethic, exceptional mechanical skills, and an appreciation for adventure that remained with him throughout his life.

A true outdoorsman, Rick found happiness on the water, whether boating or fishing, and he had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and anything with an engine. He loved taking things apart, figuring out how they worked, and bringing them back to life. If something needed fixing, Rick was usually the one to tackle the job.

Rick loved animals and always had a dog by his side. He had a soft spot for any animal that needed help. If he found a baby animal that had been abandoned or injured, he’d bring it home, care for it, and do everything he could to help it survive. Caring for animals came naturally to Rick and was just another example of his kind and generous heart.

Perhaps what people will remember most was Rick’s generous spirit. He had a big heart and genuinely enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends. A visit to Rick’s home rarely ended empty-handed—he delighted in sharing whatever he had, often sending guests home with a thoughtful gift or something he thought they could use. His quick wit, easy laugh, and welcoming nature made everyone feel at home.

Rick will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the stories shared around family gatherings, the lessons he passed on, the laughter he inspired, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy is one of service, generosity, friendship, compassion, and a life well lived.

Rick’s interment ceremony will be held on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery, 5810 Midway Road, Dixon, California.  Please contact the family for details.

Maristell Buba Omiles

Maristell Buba Omiles

Maristell Buba, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, peacefully passed away on July 3, 2026, at the age of 60.

Born on May 15, 1966, at 1:00 a.m. in her family home on Noli Me Tangere Street in Agusan Province, Butuan City, Philippines, Maristell entered the world weighing eight pounds. She was the cherished daughter of Perfecto Buba and Corazon Buba and was raised in Butuan City, where she developed the compassion, strength, and love that would define her life.

Maristell attended Agusan National High School before continuing her education at Central College of the Philippines, where she studied Accounting. She was known for her strong work ethic, warm personality, and genuine kindness, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—traveling, family outings, dining out, and spending time at the casino with those she loved. A devoted Catholic, Maristell faithfully volunteered as a choir member at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, where she joyfully shared her faith and love of music with her community.

Above all else, Maristell cherished her family. She devoted her life to caring for those she loved, always putting their needs before her own. Whether near or far, she made sure her family felt supported, cared for, and deeply loved. Becoming “Wawa” was one of her greatest blessings, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Perfecto Buba and Corazon Buba; her beloved brother, Joey Buba; and her cherished granddaughter, Penny.

She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Jerome Montenegro; her daughter, Kayzar Buba; her grandchildren, Maya and Kasey; her siblings, Marilou Gagan, Minerva Buba, Marites Buba, Malome Odchigue, Meluna Buba, and Jessie Buba; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.

Maristell will be remembered for her gentle heart, unwavering strength, and selfless love. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome, and her home was always open to family and friends. Her generosity, compassion, and quiet acts of kindness touched countless lives. Though she is no longer with us, the love she gave so freely will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Family and friends are invited to attend a viewing and prayer service on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Following the memorial services, Maristell will be transported to her beloved hometown of Butuan City, Philippines, where she will be laid to rest among her family.

Thuận Văn Huỳnh

Obituary

Thuận Văn Huỳnh was born in Cần Thơ, Vietnam, on January 1, 1941. He was the second child of seven children born to his father, Huỳnh Văn Ngới and mother, Trần Thị Mùi. He is survived by his siblings: Hoa Văn Huỳnh, Xuân Ngọc Huỳnh, and Nhị Thị Huỳnh. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Khôn Văn Huỳnh, Huê Thị Huỳnh, and Thu Cúc Thị Huỳnh. He married Nhuận Thị Trần in 1968 and went on to have five sons in total: Thương Ngọc Huỳnh (Michael), Thanh Ngọc Huỳnh (Tony), Thính Ngọc Huỳnh (Johnny), Lâm Tiến Huỳnh (Tim) and Valuable Trọng Huỳnh.

When the Vietnam War began, Thuận fought in the South Vietnamese Army alongside American soldiers. Following the end of the war, he was placed in a re-education camp. Upon his release in 1979, he fled Vietnam for the United States. Sponsored and settled in High Point, North Carolina, he took ESL classes and worked various jobs to save enough money to bring his wife and four young sons to join him.

Back in Vietnam, after several attempts, Nhuận and three of their sons successfully fled by boat in 1982. Due to heartbreaking circumstances, she had to leave Johnny behind, though he was eventually able to escape later with his aunt and cousins. Their boat lost fuel and course, ending up in Malaysian waters and were taken to Bidong Island, Malaysia. They were eventually transferred to a refugee camp in Bataan, Philippines, where they remained until the processing center located Thuận.

In the summer of 1983, Nhuận and her three sons, Michael, Tony, and Tim, finally reunited with Thuận in North Carolina. Thuận secured a job as an upholsterer at Braxton Culler, a well-known furniture company in High Point. During their time there, they welcomed their fifth son, Valuable Trọng Huỳnh. To everyone’s joy, Johnny reunited with the family in 1986. In the summer of 1987, the family relocated to Stockton, California, which has been their home ever since.

Thuận worked hard to provide for his family, working for a time as a landscaper and later taking on various freelance upholstery jobs. Nhuận dedicated her life to their home and raising their five boys. Her love language was food; she always ensured a warm meal was waiting and that the rice cooker was full for their family.

As the years passed, each of his sons married: Michael and Thắm, Tony and Mie (and his late wife, Tracy), Johnny and Như Ý, Tim and Noreli, and Valuable and Sonya. They began families of their own, and Thuận was very proud watching his grandchildren grow. In total, Thuận and Nhuận were blessed with 14 grandchildren: Richard, Anthony, Tiffany, Tyson, Joshua, Matthew, Nhu-Tien, Skylar, Jayson, Mickayla, Brayden, Natalie, Myles, and Mila. He is survived by all of his immediate family members, as well as extended family in the United States and Vietnam.

Outside of providing for his family, Thuận loved to tinker with and maintain their vehicles; to this day, the family remembers how everything always seemed to smell like gasoline. He will also be remembered for his passion for yard sales, buying up “antiques” and adding them to his growing “collection”. He also found great joy in

volunteering at various Buddhist temples alongside Nhuận. Beyond his hobbies, Thuận had a social, exuberant personality. His family will fondly recall his goofiness as he tried to make them laugh, and those booming “Hellooooos!” whenever he greeted you.

In Spring of 2025, his wife, Nhuận was diagnosed with cancer of the gallbladder. Choosing comfort over treatment, she decided to live out her remaining days embracing life, both making each holiday and family gathering even more precious. As her health slowly declined, Nhuận Thị Trần took her final breath on the evening of June 8, 2026, at 9:08 p.m., surrounded by the family who comforted her until she was at peace.

Deeply feeling the absence of his lifelong partner, Thuận’s health began to decline. The family is grateful they were able to spend one last Father’s Day celebrating their patriarch. On the evening of July 5th, most of the immediate family visited, sharing hugs and words of love. On the morning of July 6, 2026, at 8:54 a.m., Thuận rejoined his beloved wife, comforted by his son, Valuable, and daughter-in-law, Sonya.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Valuable and Sonya Huynh for opening

their hearts and home, providing their Ba and Ông Nội with boundless love, care, and

comfort until his very last breath.

Thuận survived the dangers of war and endured the hardships of leaving his homeland in search of a better life. He kept many of his stories close to his heart. Both Thuận and Nhuận took a leap of faith, relying on nothing but hope, and did everything in their power to reunite and raise their five boys. Their resilience, their sacrifices, and their profound love defined their family.

Although his family is heartbroken at the loss of both their matriarch and patriarch in

such a short time, they are comforted knowing that they are finally reunited again.

Barbara Rebecca Erickson

Barbara Rebecca “Becky” Farmer Erickson
November 23, 1949 - July 6, 2026

Barbara Rebecca “Becky” Farmer Erickson went home to be with the Lord on July 5, 2026. She was born November 23, 1949, in Welch, West Virginia, to Rupert Farmer and Mary Virginia Brewster Farmer. Raised with her brothers, Robert Patrick Farmer and Joseph Timothy Farmer, Becky carried her West Virginia roots and deep love of family throughout her life.

Becky and her late husband, Bruce Earl Erickson, were high school sweethearts who married very young and began building a life and family together. During Bruce’s military service, their young family traveled across the country, and their children were born in different states. Becky was a devoted and loyal wife and loving mother who created a sense of home wherever life took them. After Bruce was honorably discharged, they settled in California and raised their family. Bruce passed away in 2021, and the life, memories, and family they built together remain an important part of Becky’s story and legacy.

Becky worked in the counseling office at Galt High School until her health required an early retirement.

In the later chapter of her life, Becky shared a beautiful life with William Brown. Together, they created the home they had both imagined, a place filled with love and happiness. William treated Becky like the princess she was and cared for her with love and devotion, remaining by her side during the final days of her life. William is a loved member of the family, and they will always be grateful for the love and happiness he shared with Becky.

Becky was the loving mother of Bruce Patrick “Rick” Erickson and his wife, Cara Vosburgh Erickson; Deana Jenee Erickson; and Nathaniel Allen Erickson and his wife, TJ Erickson. She was the proud grandmother of Sean Patrick Erickson; Ezra Cabrera and his wife, Kendra Cabrera; Christian Allen Erickson; Arissa Erickson; and Andrew Erickson, and loving great-grandmother to Clyde Erickson.

Family was the center of Becky’s world. When someone she loved walked into a room, she lit up. Her face and smile showed what her family meant to her. They were everything to her. Becky was pure love, and she showed it with every part of her being.

Diagnosed with a serious illness at only 40, Becky lived for decades with pain and health challenges. Through it all, she showed remarkable strength and grace. Even on her hardest days, she continued to love and support those around her.

Becky had an unforgettable sense of humor and an innocent, honest, unfiltered way about her. She said exactly what was on her mind. Sometimes it was unexpected or a little inappropriate, and often it left everyone laughing. It was simply Becky being Becky, and those moments will remain treasured family stories.

Becky was deeply loved. Nothing could have prepared her family for losing her or the emptiness she left behind. She was the heart of her family. The loss is immeasurable, but so is the love she leaves. Becky will be missed beyond words and carried forever in their hearts.

Janelle Norma Quaschnick

Janelle Norma Quashnick

January 31, 1956 - July 2, 2026

On July 2, 2026, Janelle Quaschnick was taken to heaven into the loving arms of Jesus Christ.  Janelle was surrounded by her loving family at bedside, as she courageously battled metastatic cancer since 2022.  As a Wife, Mother, and Grandmother, Janelle was known for her strong Christian faith, and her love of all people and animals. 


 She was born Janelle Norma Gribaudo to Joseph and Jeannette Gribaudo on January 31, 1956, at Lodi Memorial Hospital.  With her loving Father Joseph Gribaudo being born in Northern Italy, she was proud of her Italian heritage.  With her loving Mother Jeannette Oliveira being born in the Azores, she was also especially proud of her Portuguese heritage.  But she loved all people, regardless of their background or choice of faith, and she prayed for all as a true Christian Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all that met her. 


 Janelle grew up in local schools, where she especially loved Future Farmers of America, including having a Grand Champion Suffolk Sheep back in 1972.  She was married to Gary Wisner in 1975, and in 1980 was blessed with a loving son, Joseph Wisner.  She was then blessed with a loving daughter, Jaimi Wisner in 1984, and later Janelle was so proud that Jaimi Silva, R.N. became her Registered Nurse throughout her long journey with cancer.


 Before she became quite ill these last 4 years, Janelle especially loved to workout with a passion, which she did regularly while making so many lifelong friends along the way. She had a very successful career with Ricoh USA and Ikon Business Systems in Stockton.  She later married Jim Quaschnick in 2008.  She is survived by her brother Jim Gribaudo of Lodi, and her sister Judy Sterling of Idaho. Janelle was blessed with many nieces and nephews, her special grandson Jakob Hixson, and her new loving grandson Wyatt Silva. Janelle was also blessed with dedicated prayers and loving care of her prayer group and Christian congregation at the Berea Baptist Church of Morada. 


 During her last months, Janelle prayed to be there for the wedding and gathering of all family and friends for the special marriage of her daughter Jaimi (Wisner) Silva, to her very special son-in-law, Chris Silva of Modesto and from the Azores as well. Janelle’s prayers were answered as she walked Jaimi down the aisle at her wedding, gave her away at the altar, and had the first dance with her under the smiles and prayers of us all, in September 2025, just 9 months ago. 


 Our family would especially like to thank Janelle’s very special friends Audrey & Shanese Simoni, Luz Gomez, and Danielle Escalante for their tremendous love and personal care to the end.  Stanford University and the special skills of Dr. Amer Karam, along with the love of Jesus Christ, gave us all the gift of even more years of life these last several years. Our family is so thankful to everybody for their love and prayers for Janelle, so thank you all.

Kiriaki Aftias

Kiriaki “Kiki” Aftias
June 9, 1934 – July 1, 2026

Kiriaki “Kiki” Aftias passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by the love of her three children, who held her hands as she entered eternal rest. She was 92 years old.

Born in the village of Kokkari on the island of Samos, Greece, Kiki was the beloved daughter of Dimitri and Kaliope Yeralis. She was the youngest of nine children. Though her brothers and sisters often treated her as their little sister, Kiki adored each of her siblings and treasured the close bonds they shared.

Her childhood was shaped by hard work, devotion to family, and resilience.

As a teenager in Kokkari, Kiki met Nicolaos “Nick” Aftias, the young man who would become her husband and lifelong companion. After Nick immigrated to Montreal, Canada, he soon sent for Kiki, and they were married in 1954. Together they built a life founded on faith, family, and perseverance. They quickly learned English, though Kiki’s unique and endearing expressions became affectionately known by family members as “Kiki-isms.”

In 1958, Kiki and Nick moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, with their two children and opened the Village Inn Restaurant. Kiki balanced the many roles of homemaker, mother, and business partner while welcoming a third child into the family.

The family moved to Lodi, California, in 1968 so Kiki could be reunited with her beloved brothers and sisters. She worked at the New Yorker Restaurant until 1974 when she and Nick partnered with their nieces and nephews, Dr. Ken and Angie Frangadakis and Michael and Patti Frangadakis, to open Yasoo Yani Restaurant in downtown Stockton. Kiki became a beloved fixture behind the cash register. Gifted with numbers and blessed with a remarkable memory, she greeted customers warmly and remembered details about their families long after they left the restaurant.

Kiki and Nick were devoted parishioners of St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church. She was an active member of Philoptochos and the Lodi Hellenic Society. Her nieces and nephews remember her as kind, gentle, and loving—always greeting them by name and ending every conversation with, “I love you.”

She found joy tending her fruitful farm. Family remember her gathering vegetables and fruit in her apron to share and filling her home with the fragrance of oregano drying on the table. Her life was a beautiful expression of hospitality, faith, hard work, and unconditional love for her family.

Kiki was preceded in death by her beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Nicolaos “Nick”Aftias, her parents, Dimitri and Kaliopi; brothers Anathasios, Stavros, Michael; and sisters Kostandina, Argyro, Eleni, Maria and an infant sibling. She is survived by her children, Fotini Maria Aftias, Licourgos “Leo” Aftias, and Dimitri “Jim” Aftias (Susan); her Goddaughter Daylina; grandchildren, Nick Aftias (Rhiannon), Thomas Aftias (Edlyn), Alexa Aftias-Mertz, Christine Aftias-Sanchez (Anthony), and Michael Aftias; seven great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Vasilia Kritikos of Montreal, Quebec; and many cherished nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

A Trisagion Service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.

The Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Basil Greek Orthodox Church, Stockton, California.

July 23, 1931 - June 21, 2026

Lawrence J. Tracy joined our Lord and Savior on June 21, 2026. Born in Wellington, Kansas on July 23, 1931 to Clem and Winnie Tracy, he was the youngest of 10 siblings, all of whom preceded him in death.

“Larry” enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 19, moving to San Diego, Ca where he served our country from 1950-1954 at Miramar Naval Base during the Korean War. There, he met his life-long sweetheart and wife of 74 years, Myrna Barton. Together, they had three children; Jennifer Brown (Mark), Jeffrey Tracy (Tamra) and Melody Bollinger. Grandchildren include Christine Davis, Sunny Fleming, Teddy and Robert Sperling, Trent and Spencer Tracy, and Danielle Dias. Step-grandchildren include Nichol Chase, Noelle Lenzi and Natalie Feller. Great-grandchildren include Gracie Hunt, Bailey Davis, Kyle and Zach Fleming, Emerson and Paxton Tracy, Leilani, Spencer and Francesca Tracy, and Aidan, Carter and Sadie Dias. Additional great-grandchildren include Joey Sperling, Julietta, Eiland and Elliana Lenzi, and Theo and Max Feller.

Larry and Myrna raised their children in Southern California, primarily in Canyon Country (Santa Clarita Valley) where Larry worked in the Food Sales Industry for 35 years. Upon retirement, they moved to Elk Grove and finally to Lodi in 1999, to be near their children, all of whom reside here.

Most people know Larry as “Popo” Tracy, one of Tokay High School’s most ardent and devoted fans (the guy with the loud megaphone) for the past 40 years. “Popo” began his support when his son, Jeff Tracy, was Tokay’s Head Football Coach (1985-2004). He continued to support Tokay Athletics, following his grandsons, Trent and Spencer, and then his great-grandsons, Kyle and Zach, all of whom were multiple-sports athletes at Tokay. “Popo” watched his last football game and Tokay’s first “bowl game” this past November, supporting Zach, the current defensive coordinator for the Tigers!

“Popo” will always be remembered as a devoted and supporting husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his loving family. He will also be remembered by those who knew him well as a kind, generous and extremely funny individual…may he rest in peace!

GRAVESIDE
A family graveside ceremony will be held on July 23rd, Lawrence “Popo” Tracy’s 95th birthday, at Cherokee Memorial. His “celebration of life” will follow and open to all that would like to attend…details forthcoming.
