Bertha Weaver

Bertha Weaver 1919 - 2015Bertha Weaver, a resident of Elk Grove, California since 1946, died peacefully at her home on Feb. 4, 2015 at the age of 95. Bertha was born on June 20, 1919 in Diamond Springs, Calif., where she grew up on a ranch and graduated from El Dorado County High School in 1937.

She was employed  by the State of California Employment Development Department as a stenographer for 25 years, where she was known as Bertie. She retired in 1976.

Bertha loved animals, sewing, gardening, the outdoors and playing her harmonica.  Bertha had a gift for humor and helping others.

Bertha was preceded in death by her parents Julia and Antonio Pavia, sisters Caselda Zade and Adeline Anderson.  She is survived by her nieces Sandra Thayer and Barbara Rodriguez, nephews Robert Anderson and Manual Lomba; 7 great nieces and nephews; 10 great-great nieces and nephews; and one great-great-great nephew.  Aunt Bertha was dearly loved by all her family and friends. VISITATION

Viewing will be at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in Lodi on Wed. Feb. 11 from 11 a.m to 8 p.m.

SERVICES

Funeral services in Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, Thursday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. A celebration of Bertha's life will follow.
