Donald Burns

August 29, 1926 - June 22, 2018 Don Burns passed away peacefully on June 22, 2018 at the age of 91. Don was born on August 29, 1926 to Bernard & Theresa Burns in Queens, New York. Don proudly served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He moved to California in 1948 and began working for Pacific Bell as a lineman. He was later promoted to foreman & retired after 40 years of service. Don married the love of his life, Jane Burns, on May 1, 1954 and they were happily married for sixty-four years. Don was an avid sports fan from coaching his son's baseball team to never missing a grandchild's game to watching the Yankees every time they were on TV. He was extremely proud of his family, his Irish heritage, his service in the Marine Corps and his work with Pacific Bell. He lived a full and happy life. Don is survived by his loving wife, Jane, his son, Terry and his six grandchildren, Brianne, Ryan, Kellie, Brendan, Greg and Matt and great-grandson, Jackson. He is preceded in death by his son Sean and his daughter Erin. He was always the life of the party. He always had a joke to tell and was always dressed to impress. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.  In lieu of flowers, the family ask that you donate to the New York Yankees, they are going to need a new pitcher by the end of the year (or to the Semper Fi Fund, they could use it more).
