Patricia “Pat” Newman, 72, entered into Eternal Rest on January 26, 2019, in the arms of her loving husband after a sudden and brief battle with Cancer.
Patricia Cecilia Clark was born on November 20, 1946, in Merced, California, to Helen and Carroll Clark. She is one of 8 children. She graduated from Merced High School in 1963, and worked for Merced County. She married the love of her life, Hal Newman, on March 14, 1970. After having three children, they moved to Lodi in November, 1976. Their fourth child was born in 1982.
Shortly after moving to Lodi, Pat became involved in Saint Anne’s Catholic Church. She taught CCD for over 20 years, was a member of Bible Study groups and volunteered her time endlessly. When her children started preschool, she was an active member in Tiny Tots Co-Op Preschool where she made many friends. She loved being a part of her children’s lives and, once they entered elementary school, she volunteered at Erma B. Reese School. She was on the PTA and a classroom volunteer. She continued to support her children in high school and through college. She was at every game, event, or recital. Her children were her greatest blessing. Pat began working for Lodi Unified School District in 1981. She was a part of Woodbridge Middle School, Bear Creek High School, and Lodi High School where she retired in 2009. Although retired, they would still find ways to get her back to Lodi High. She adored her work family and made numerous lifelong friends. She was very strong in her faith and made friends easily. Pat loved being a part of her community and continued to be an active participant in life. She adored her grandchildren and loved being “Mimi”. She never met a stranger, and she made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. She is irreplaceable and will forever leave a hole in our hearts.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 49 years, Hal Newman; daughter Nikki Nestal and son-in-law Elliott; son Tom Newman and wife Sommer; daughter Laura Hawley and son-in-law Brian; son Danny Newman; grandchildren Hailey, Bradley, Dylan, Noah, Connor, Riley, Brody and Patrick, her 6 siblings and their spouses, and many nieces and nephews who treasured her dearly. She is preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Carroll Clark; and sister Bernadine Ditter.
VISITATION
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 31, 2019 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. @ the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.. Rosary will be held also that evening Thursday January 31, 2019 6:00 p.m. @ St. Anne's Catholic Church 215 W Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240.
SERVICE
A Funeral Mass will be held @ St. Anne's Catholic Church 215 W Walnut St Lodi, CA 95240, Friday February 1, 2019 10:00 a.m. Burial to follow at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at Harney Lane at Hwy 99, Lodi, CA 95240.
In lieu of flowers Family ask donations be made in her name (Pat Newman) to “Directions Medical” formally known as “Pregnancy Resource Center of Lodi”. 942 E. Pine St., Lodi, CA 95240.
