On Monday, November 1, 2021 on All Saints Day, Fred I Orlando, Sr. (88) passed away in Auburn, CA. Fred was born in San Jose, CA on December 10, 1932 to Lawrence and Margaret Orlando (Sculli). He was the youngest of five children.
On July 27, 1952, Fred married the love of his life, Gabriela Ann Escobar. They were happily married for 69 years. Fred's greatest passion was his family and his love of airplanes. Fred was a part time personal pilot before starting his career with Santa Clara County Public works and eventually retired from the County of Amador as a Public Works Road Inspector.
Upon Fred's retirement, he and his beloved wife moved to Auburn, CA where they were active members in the Auburn Aviation Association and members of St. Theresa of Avila Church.
Fred is survived by his beloved wife, Gabriela Orlando, daughters Pamela Glass (Robert), Loretta Arena (Frank) and Mary Rossi. Fred is survived by his sons Stephen Orlando and Fred Orlando, Jr. Grandchildren Annamarie, John, Robert Wayne (Cindy), Arran, Cassidy. Great Grandchildren Cassidy, Kody, Connor and great granddaughter, Ryder Lyn. Fred is survived by his sister, Francis Pisano O'Leary.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 11th at 1:00 PM followed by a rosary at 6:00 PM at Lodi Funeral Home, 725 S. Fairmont Avenue Lodi. A funeral mass will be held on November 12th at 10:00 AM at St. Anne's Church 215 W. Walnut Street, Lodi. A Celebration of life will be held at Cherokee Memorial Park following the mass.
