January 21, 1951 - November 9, 2025
Maria Victoria Yanneo, born on January 21, 1951, in Cali, Colombia was sent to her eternal home on November 9, 2025. She transitioned peacefully at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco at the age of 74. Victoria passed after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and scleroderma, having received a double lung transplant at UCSF in 2011. She was incredibly strong and resilient, as she lived with a transplant and compromised immune system for many years. Her ability to live in gratitude, faith, and positivity gave her the strength to surpass life expectancy and to care responsibly for the gift of her transplant. She was the beloved wife of Juan Carlos Yanneo for 49 years, having recently celebrated their 50th anniversary of meeting. She is survived by two brothers, Jaime and Guillermo Jaramillo, and three sisters, Ana Vera and Iliana and Claudia Jaramillo. Victoria is also survived by her three children, Monica Maiwand, William Garcia, and Chastity Piedade. She took great pride in being a loving mother and grandmother to 6 six grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters.
Victoria was a shining light and supportive anchor to all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her life was marked by love, compassion, and joy, as she always prioritized her family. She had a great love for music and dance, was an amazing cook, and she was known for being the ultimate bay area sports fan, all which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Her passing has left a void in the heart of family and friends, but we ask that you remember her for the profound impact she’s had on those around her. Victoria was a beautiful woman, both inside and out. Victoria was an incredible listener, an intuitive being full of wisdom, and a nurturing caregiver. She saw the beauty in those around her and was generous with her care and her compliments. When by her side, whether family or friends, she made people feel seen and special. As we reflect on the loss of such an incredible person, we ask that you remember her essence and honor her memory through joy and gratitude.
