Barbara Jane Blythe (Treadway), age 84, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, in Stockton, California.
Born on October 6, 1940, in Little Rock, Arkansas, Barbara was the beloved daughter of Roscoe Cleo (RC) and Nora Ella Jimerson Treadway. She grew up alongside her siblings Cecil Edward Treadway, Robert Charles Treadway, and Sheila Annette Treadway, all of whom preceded her in death.
Barbara shared a devoted marriage with her late husband, James Thomas Blythe. Together they built a life centered around family and love. She was a cherished mother to Tom and Brenda Blythe; Barry and Linda Blythe; Randy Blythe of Stockton; and Crystal Blythe of Modesto.
Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Chelsea Blythe of Modesto; Derek Blythe and Anna Nicole Wajs of Redondo Beach; Brooke and Herb Smart of Modesto; Haley and Jeff DeBlieux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Jared and Lauren Blythe of Stockton; Randall and Abbie Blythe of Stockton; Spencer Blythe of Stockton; and Katelyn and Jafeth DeSantiago of Arlington, Texas.
Barbara was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to her life: Elijah, Jillian, and Avery Smart of Modesto; Jane and Owen Blythe of Stockton; Jagger DeBlieux of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Brooks Blythe of Stockton.
She is also lovingly remembered by Teri and Kevin Herr of Houston, Texas, along with many cousins who were dear to her heart.
Barbara was known as a loving wife, mother, Grammie, and great-Grammie—a title she wore with pride throughout her life. Her warmth touched generations within her family, creating bonds that will endure beyond her passing.
May her memory bring comfort to those who knew and loved her. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 24, 2025, at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church 267 N. Mills Avenue in Lodi, California.
