Marlene Eda Henderson-Grigg
1935–2025

Marlene Eda Henderson-Grigg, aged 89, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in October 1935 in Stockton, California, to Nathaniel Pierce Morris and Margarete Rose Morris, Marlene was a lifelong resident of Stockton. She grew up alongside her only sibling, Richard Pierce Morris, and graduated from Stockton College. She played a pivotal role in the family’s business, Morris Auto Supply, managing leadership and bookkeeping duties with dedication. Her commitment to her community shone through her extensive volunteer work, including serving as Treasurer and President of Junior Aid of Stockton and as Treasurer for the Child Abuse Prevention Council of San Joaquin Valley. Known for her positive and joyful outlook, Marlene brought warmth and youthful charm to every family gathering, with Christmas being her favorite holiday—a time she cherished for uniting her loved ones. Her passion for life extended to her hobbies: she was an accomplished pianist in her youth, an avid Bridge player, a dedicated gardener, a wonderful cook, and a constant supporter of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Marlene’s love for travel took her to many different Countries, National Parks and on numerous cruises. She was also a gracious host at the Santa Cruz beach house. Marlene was married to George Henderson and later to her surviving husband, Graham Grigg; her devotion and charm will live on through her children; Mike Henderson (Pam), Jeff Henderson (Rita), Debbie Walters, Susan Franklin (Byron), Danny and Tammy and her grandchildren, Misty, Matthew, Melanie, Mark, Mitchell, Celena, Brett, Lance, and Sabrina; and her many great-grandchildren. Marlene’s vibrant spirit and unwavering devotion to family and community will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
