Charles Glenn Metcalf
August 13, 1952 - January 5, 2026
OBITUARY
Charles Glenn Metcalf, known to family and friends simply as Glenn, was born in 1952 in Stockton, California, where he also spent much of his life. Glenn passed away surrounded by the legacy of a life defined by hard work, the outdoors, and deep love for his family.
Glenn grew up in Stockton and developed an early appreciation for working with his hands and spending time outside. A skilled welder and mechanic, he built a long and respected career in the trades. Over the years, he worked for D&V Machine Shop, the Fremont NUMMI Toyota Plant, and Simplot, earning the admiration of coworkers for his dedication, mechanical knowledge, and strong work ethic.
Outside of work, Glenn found his greatest joy outdoors. He loved hunting and spending time in nature, pursuits that reflected his patience, self-reliance, and appreciation for the simple things in life. He was also deeply committed to his community, especially its youth. Glenn proudly coached the youth scholastic trap league at Stockton Gun and Bocce, where he shared not only skills but also mentorship, discipline, and encouragement.
Above all else, Glenn cherished time with his children. Being a father was one of his greatest sources of pride, and he valued every moment spent together — whether outdoors, at the range, or simply enjoying each other’s company.
Glenn will be remembered for his steady presence, generous spirit, and the many lives he touched through his work, coaching, and family. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the skills he shared, and the love he gave so freely.
