Shobhana Patel

June 23, 1950 - October 23, 2026

Born in India on June 23, 1950, Shobhana Patel lived a life defined by love, generosity, strength, and devotion to her family. She was a loving wife, an extraordinary mother, a successful entrepreneur, and a beautiful soul whose kindness touched everyone fortunate enough to know her.

In 1974, Shobhana married the love of her life. Shortly after, they began their journey together in London before eventually making California their home in the late 1970s. Alongside her husband, Shobhana helped build a successful business empire through hard work, determination, and a shared vision. Together, they built a life and legacy rooted in perseverance, partnership, and family.

In 2009, she experienced one of life's deepest heartbreaks when she lost her life partner. Yet, in the midst of her own grief, she found the strength to carry on for her three daughters. She carried the torch for her family and showed us, through her example, how to keep living, loving, and finding joy even with a broken heart.

Shobhana's life was one of constant giving. She loved unconditionally, gave without expecting anything in return, and always put others before herself. Her love was found in the simplest, most meaningful gestures: cutting fruit to make sure we ate, preparing five different dishes so everyone had their favorite, and making sure the first question on every phone call was whether we had eaten that day. That was her way of loving.

She found joy in gardening, lovingly taking up her husband's favorite pastime after his passing. Her garden, filled with fruit trees and blooming roses, reflected the nurturing and beautiful person she was. She loved family trips, often claiming she was too tired or too old to join, only to outwalk everyone. And then there was Costco-her favorite place, where seemingly everyone knew her and stopped to say hello.

Above all, her greatest joy was her family. To her daughters, she was our heart, our home, our safe place, and our greatest blessing. No matter how old we grew, there was nothing more comforting than knowing we had our mom.

Her passing leaves an emptiness words cannot describe. We wish for more conversations, more hugs, and more ordinary days together. But we know her love lives on-in the bond between her daughters, the kindness she taught us, the flowers that bloom in her garden, and the strength we will find to carry on.

Her greatest legacy was never what she built or accumulated, but the lives she touched and the example she left behind. She taught us to give generously, love deeply, find joy in life's simple blessings, and keep going even when our hearts are broken.

Shobhana is survived by her three beloved daughters, Seema, Tejal, and Sweta; all of whom will forever carry her love and legacy.
