Lewis was born on December 24th, 1938, in Stockton, California. He passed away peacefully at home, with family, on April 6th, 2026, in Stockton - He was 87 years old.
He enjoyed a long fulfilling life. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He served as a Missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Minnesota. He was a park ranger at Picacho Peak State Park in Arizona. He was an honored Educator with Stockton Unified School District for over 28 years. He fulfilled many callings within the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a Seminary teacher, a High Counselman, a stake Missionary, 1st counselor to the bishop, a Sunday School teacher and a scout leader with the Boy Scouts of America.
His lived his life serving others. He had great faith and love for Our Lord Jesus Christ. His love and devotion for his family were evident in all aspects of his life.
Lewis lived his life full of humor, kindness and love. He is survived by his wife, best friend and sweetheart Linda whom he was married to for 61 years; his 8 children, Rick Turner (Marga), Wendy Farrens (Michael), Todd Turner, Akaylia Sidener (Brian), Ursula LaRosa (Dino), Cary Berkey (Brad), Jesse Turner, Jeff Turner "oldest baby brother" (Sandi), and 34 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, his sister Verna Hansen and his cousin Bobby Ray Bennet.
CELEBRATION OF LIFE
A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 2nd, 2026 at 12:00pm noon at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, located at 8806 Don Ave, Stockton, California 95209.
Lewis will be laid to rest privately.
