Latufuipeka Hala’ufia Hafoka

OBITUARY

Latufuipeka Hala’ufia Hafoka, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and faithful servant of the Lord, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 1, 1954, in Nuku‘alofa, Tongatapu, to Siaosi Kupu and Uinise ‘Ofa Lavulo Hala‘ufia.  

Latu was the heart of her home. She was a caregiver, homemaker, and unwavering source of strength for her family. She married the love of her life, Taniela Hafoka, and together they shared nearly 50 years of marriage, building a legacy of love, resilience, and faith.  

A stalwart member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Latu lived her testimony daily through quiet service, fierce friendship, and an unshakable belief in the plan of salvation. She was known for her ability to show up, whether it was for her children, her siblings, her neighbors, and anyone in need. Her hands were always busy cooking, cleaning, comforting, or creating a home where everyone felt welcome.  

Latu was preceded in death by her beloved son, Sione Fifita. She is survived by her devoted husband, Taniela Hafoka; her children: Simione Hafoka, ‘Esiteli Uhamaka (Vainga Uhamaka), Taniela Pili‘opo Hafoka (Erika Hafoka), Gorgina Hala‘ufia (Leon Bates), and Siaosi Kupu Hala‘ufia (Alexis Medel); and her cherished grandchildren: Lesieli Fakatu‘otu‘akiniua, Sinakilea Kolotile, Taniela Pili‘opo, ‘Ilaisa Eloni, Latufuipeka Hala‘ufia, Sione Fifita, and Siaosi Kupu. She also leaves behind her dear siblings..  

Though she wore many hats, her greatest joy was her family. Her legacy of love, service, and enduring faith will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.  


VISITATION

Visitation will be held from 10:00am-12:00pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 in Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.

SERVICE

Service will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2026 at 12:30pm in Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240. Conclude with graveside service.

RECEPTION

Reception to follow burial at LDS Stake Center 800 Brookside Road, Stockton, CA 95207
