Salvador De La Cruz

March 22, 1956 - May 1, 2026

Obituary

Salvador De La Cruz, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, entered into eternal rest on May 1, 2026, in Stockton at the age of 68.

Born on March 22, 1958, in Merced, Salvador was the beloved son of Vicente and Guadalupe De La Cruz. During his early years, he was raised in the Lodi and Woodbridge area, where he built the strong values of faith, family, and hard work that would guide him throughout his life.

As a young man, Salvador worked alongside his mother and father in agriculture during summers and school breaks. Through those years, he developed a deep respect for hard work and learned his lifelong love of mechanics while working on cars with his father. He became known by many as someone who could always be counted on to lend a helping hand, especially when someone needed their car repaired.

Salvador dedicated over 20 years of hard work as a big rig mechanic and big rig tire mechanic for Cherokee Freight Lines and Reeves Trucking. In the last 15 years of his career, he faithfully served his community by transporting people to doctor’s appointments and individuals with special needs to their daily programs with kindness, patience, and compassion.

A man of strong faith, Salvador loved God deeply and lived his life serving others. He spent many years volunteering at the food bank in Lodi, always willing to help anyone in need. He found joy in fishing, joking with family and friends, barbequing, cooking, gardening, and creating memories with those he loved most. Above all else, Salvador treasured his family. His loving spirit, generous heart, and warm sense of humor will forever be remembered.

Salvador is survived by his wife, Yolanda De La Cruz; his children, Salvador O. De La Cruz, Victoria Carrion and her wife Kimberly Carrion, and Sergio De La Cruz; and his beloved grandchildren, Salvador Jr., Juliana, Awstin, Johnathan, Selena, and Sergio. He is also survived by his brothers Guadalupe, Vincent, and Jose-Luis; his sister Juanita; as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

He was welcomed into eternal rest by his beloved mother Guadalupe, his father Vicente, his brother Francisco, and his sister Rosa.

Salvador’s life was a reflection of love, faith, sacrifice, and kindness. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the family he loved so dearly.
