Corrina Carriero-Bouscal

January 22, 1981 - September 27, 2018

Corrina Caroline Carreiro-Bouscal passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on September 27, 2018 in Stockton, CA at the age of 37.  She was born on January 22, 1981 in Redwood City, CA.

Corrina lived in Stockton for the last 27 years where she attended local schools graduating from Edison High School in 1999 and continuing on to Delta College.  She worked as a catering lead for Bon Appetite on the University of the Pacific campus for 20 years.  She had a love for photography, animals and spending time with family and friends.

Corrina is preceded in death by her husband Aaron.  She is survived by her parents Robert and Ginell Carreiro; siblings Anthony Carreiro (Justine), Cheryl Carreiro-Guzman (Davey), Robert Carreiro Jr., Anna Carreiro-Cram (Rick); also survived by 4 nephews, 1 niece, in-laws Kacey, Beau and Jason Bouscal, and close friend Jacob Bartlett.

SERVICES:

Services will take place on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at 10:00 am at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240.

Ruth Cavender

May 1, 1943 - September 24, 2018

Ruth Marie Cavender passed away on September 24, 2018 in Stockton, CA at the age of 75.  She was born on May 1, 1943 to Julia and Isabelo Callejo, in Stockton, CA.  She married Dewey Lee Cavender Sr. on August 1, 1964 and has lived her entire life in Stockton.  She worked for St. Joseph’s Medical Center for over 40 years until retirement.  She enjoyed reading, working crossword and word search puzzles,  cooking with Dewey for family gatherings, meeting with friends, family and coworkers for meals out, helping Dewey with the garden and fruit trees of which they would can and preserve jellies, jams, and vegetables, share and freeze fruits and vegetables with family and the entire neighborhood.  She was a native of Stockton and attended school at Fair Oaks Elementary, Fremont Jr. High, graduated from Franklin High and attended Stockton College.

Ruth is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dewey Lee Cavender Sr., Father; Isabelo Callejo and son-in-law; BJ Price.  She is survived by her children, Lisa Cavender-Price, Dewey Lee Cavender Jr. (Corina) and Louis Owen Cavender (Eve) all of Stockton; grandchildren; Marlissa, Levi, Jeffrey, Correy, Kassandra, Gavin, Aiden and a great-granddaughter; Sophia;  Siblings; Joe (Tomi) Callejo, Dan (Terry) Callejo, Nieces: Debra (Kevin) Niebaum, Marci Callejo and Rebecca (Derek) Callejo-McGuire; Nephew Adam Callejo.

Olga Spitzer, 102, of Lodi, died Sunday, September 23, 2018, from natural causes. She was born July 31, 1916 in Leola, South Dakota, and moved to Lodi with her husband, Leo Spitzer and infant daughter Donna, in 1937. Mrs. Spitzer was employed at the School Street Fabric Shop from 1948 to1951. She was also employed at the Newfield’s Department Store from 1952 until 1969. Mrs. Spitzer’s interests were, sewing, camping, crocheting, and visiting the Grandchildren and the Great Grandchildren. Mrs. Spitzer was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, and the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Mrs. Spitzer is survived by brother Victor Marquardt (Anita) of Galt; four Grandchildren, Peter Wagenman, Patricia Rodriguez, Dana Lemmon and Nicole Spitzer Lugo; seven Great- grandchildren, Jacob Wagenman, Michaela Lemmon, Paige Hall, Jill Antonovich, Weslie Lemmon, Ashley Lemmon and Dustin Huntzinger; and survived by four Great-Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Leo Spitzer in 1999, daughter, Donna Wagenman in 1997, son Fred Spitzer in 2014, Sister Gertrude Maier of Lodi; brothers, Mike Marquardt of Sacramento, Rudy Marquardt of Minnesota, Bill Marquardt of Sacramento and Martin Marquardt of Castro Valley.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church.

Danny Hackworth

September 26, 1947 - September 19, 2018

On Wednesday, September 19th, 2018, Danny Ray Hackworth, loving husband and father of two daughters, passed away at age 70 in Lodi, CA. Danny was born on September 26th, 1947 in Stockton, CA to Darvin and Rita Hackworth.  He graduated from Lodi High School in 1965, and continued on to Delta College where, he earned his AA Degree.  Not only did Dan work over 25 years as a Butcher at George's Meat Market, but he also made a career of building custom cabinets (among many other things), which he learned at the age of 14.  On May 10th, 1969, he married Maxine Evans.  They raised two daughters, Misty Hackworth and Wendy Balogh.
Danny had a passion for a great many things: camping, hunting, boating, and fishing. He was happy out on the road with his wife Maxine, exploring many amazing places.  Dan was a Renaissance man.  From coaching his daughters softball teams, to building and racing Jeeps.  He was a member of the Church of Christ in Lodi, and worked to build the church with his family as a young man.  Dan had a natural ability to fix almost anything, and if he didn't know how, he would learn.  He was meticulous and focused in everything he did.  Above all, Dan's first priority, was his family and friends.  He was as devoted to those he loved as a person could be - well known for his loyalty, selflessness, and generous spirit.  Dan was always willing to help – anytime, anywhere.
Danny was preceded in death by his father Darvin, mother Rita, and younger sister Sandy Williams. He is survived by his wife Maxine, his two daughters, Misty and Wendy, his brother Ron Hackworth and wife Teri, his sister Brenda Versic and husband Dave, sons-in-law Damon Duncan and Ken Balogh, and his five grandchildren – Evelyn Balogh (5), Marcus Ohlhauser (25), Summer Duncan (22), Cayley Duncan (19), and Jordan Symanowski (28).
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26th, 2018, at the Church of Christ at 600 S. Ham Lane, Lodi, CA.  Donations can be made to the Church of Christ, or in Dan's name directly to the Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Foundation at pkdcure.org.

Evelia De Ayala

May 19, 1931 - September 17, 2018

Cherokee Memorial is honored to serve the Ayala family.

Evelia E de Ayala, born Evelia Elizondo, a long-time resident of Lodi passed away at the age of 87 on September 17, 2018, with her family at her side. Mrs. de Ayala was born in Hacienda de San Pedro on May 19, 1931. She married Carlos Ayala on November 2, 1946. They moved from Mexico to Lodi in 1963. Mrs. de Ayala enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with all her family. One of her favorite pastimes was playing Chalupa (loteria). She was very loving and helped many relatives and friends throughout the years. She was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.

Mrs. de Ayala is survived by four sons: Americo (Dolores) Ayala of Mission, Texas, Eliud (Yolanda) Ayala and Guadalupe (Gloria) Ayala, both of Pasco, Washington, Carlos (Grace) Ayala Jr. of Stockton; four daughters, Juanita (Erasmo) Herrera of Mexico; Evelia (Americo) Salazar of Stockton, Leticia (Diego) Galvan of Woodbridge; Rosa (Jesus) de Santiago of Lodi; 27 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; 6 great great-grandchildren; also survived by one brother Ermilo (Aroceli) Elizondo; three sisters Elda E de Martinez, Eleonora (Jose Luis) Martinez, Emelda (Alfredo) Treviño.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Carlos Ayala, on September 3, 2008; her brothers Eruviel Elizondo, Ertudio Elizondo; her sisters Ester Galvan, Eudora Guerra, Elodia Sanchez; also preceded in death by grandson Luis G. Alvarez Jr. and Henry de Santiago. Friends and family are invited to the visitation on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 4:00- 8:00 pm at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240 (corner of HWY 99 & Harney Ln). Recitation of the Holy Rosary will start at 6:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Mexico with committal to follow in Hacienda de San Pedro, General Teran, Nuevo Leon.
