Jacqueline (Jackie) Lois Field. age 76. passed away at home on Friday. October 19, 2018. She is predeceased by her son. Richard K. Field. Jirn. and husband Richard K. Field. Jackie was born December 23, 1941. She grew up in Stockton and graduated from Lodi High School. Jackie married Richard Field on April 4, 1965. They had one son, Richard K Field Jr. Jackie worked for St. Joseph's hospital until her retirement.
Jackie will be sincerely missed by her ladies group. whom she loved spending time with. She was an avid quilter with another group of her fiends that she visited with weekly. Jackie is survived by her sister Marcie Fenehl (Roger) and her children Jimmy Fenell, Raymond Ferrell, and Katie Ferrehl. She is also survived by her niece Pam Vickers and partner Majid Hosseini and their children. Heather Vickers. Hamed. An and Aram Hosseini.

June 4th, 1926 - October 19th, 2018
Marie Peery Medford, 92, of Stockton, passed away on October 19, 2018. She was born June 4, 1926; the youngest of three children born to parents L.C. Wisdom and John Roy Peery in Weiser, Idaho. She learned to play the piano at age 6, and by age 11 played at Church and in High School had 15 piano students. She attended the University of Oregon, majored in piano and received her teaching credential. Her first teaching job (teaching piano/voice) was at Punahou Private School in Oahu, Hawaii; where she met her husband E. Leslie Medford, Jr. who was stationed at the Marine Corps Air Station Kaneohe Bay; and married in 1950. Marie and Les (married 64 years) had two children (Virginia Suzanne “Ginnie Sue” and Leslie David). In 1975, they adopted three Vietnamese brothers (Chinh, Khoi, Quang Vu) who lived with them. In 1961, upon Les’ retirement from the Marine Corps, the family moved from the Carmel Valley to Stockton, where Marie taught third grade at El Dorado School for 30 years. Marie was actively involved in numerous organizations in the Stockton area including Delta Kappa Gamma (served as President of Tau Chapter, Area Director, and State Music Chair). Marie attended all State Conventions and lead the Saturday night Sing-along, which was a particularjoy for her. She actively promotedTau Chapter’s community endeavor “Books for Babes” and solicited donations to support World Fellowship (which financially supports educating women in thirdworld countries). She received the Susan B. Anthony award in 2013 & Chi State Distinguished Public Service Award in 2014.
After retirement in 1991, Marie became a San Joaquin County Historical Society & Museum Docent, and was instrumental in the creation of the Pioneer School Day Program. As Docent President, she began “Docent Doings” and was an active participant in the organization (including serving as Chairperson) of the Festival of Trees, held annually the firstweekend of December. She served as Docent Program Chairperson and Museum Trustee for several years. Marie was a member of the Retired Teachers’Association and Friends of Chamber Music, served on both music & flower committees at Central United Methodist Church, and was the church organist at the First Presbyterian Church for 22 years until 2017; and played piano each week for the local Rotary Club—as recently as October 17, 2018. Les and Marie were committed in their support for museums, athletics, university endeavors, musical organizations, and numerous additional local and national charitable causes.
Marie is survived by her children Ginnie Sue and Leslie, adopted sons Chinh Vu (wife: Le), Khoi Vu, Quang Vu (wife Hai), grandchildren Lillian Claire and Sovay Medford; Junior, Jonathan, Winston, Rene Vu; and Peery cousins, nieces, and nephews (Portland, Ore).
A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 4, 2018 at 1:00 at Central United Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Ave, Stockton, CA.
Interment will be private at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, California. For those who wish (in lieu of flowers) donations in honor of Marie would be gratefully accepted by Hospice of San Joaquin,
Central United Methodist Church, Friends of Chamber Music, or any worthy charitable organization of your choice.

Bernard Francis Christensen of Lodi passed away peacefully at home on Friday, October 19, 2018. Born February 19, 1932 above Jauquet’s Bar (now known as Pearly Gates Bar) in Green Bay, Wisconsin, to Homer (Omer) J. Christensen and Marie (Jauquet) Christensen. He proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War, stationed in Okinawa. After his time in the service he moved to Sacramento and met Janet Stone. They married in 1956, began to raise their family, and eventually moved to Stockton, settling in Lodi. Bernie, as he was known to all, was a sign fabricator by trade, a career of nearly five decades. In addition to being known for innovative fabrications and installations, he was involved in all facets of the sign business and was a well-respected shop foreman and mentor to so many. Kind and humble, he was the ultimate “workerman”. He always had a project going on in his shop and enjoyed helping others. Bernie was a lifelong Packers fan, and was proud of hiking Half Dome at age 60 with his son Jim and 12-year-old granddaughter Stefani, as well as hiking Mt. Whitney a few years later. One of his favorite things was to take daily walks with his buddy “Jake the dog”, especially mapping out and timing the route for the annual “Walk for the Health of It”.
Survived by his wife Janet of 62 years. Children: Deb Parkins of Chino, Jim Christensen (Laura) of Sacramento, Michael Christensen (Deborah Cook) of Morada, Sue Christensen of San Francisco, and Lisa Thalken (Tim) of Lodi. Grandchildren: Stefani Luna (Jimmy) of Claremont, Natalie Gonzaga (Hector) of Chino, Tyler Thalken of San Jose, Kelsey Thalken of Los Angeles, and Jacob Turner of West Point, NY. Great grandchildren: Talia, Tayler, Travis and Troy Luna, Madison and William Gonzaga. Brother Larry Christensen of Sacramento, sisters Clare Phillips of Sacramento, Mary Smith of Suisun City, and Denise Mason of West Sacramento. Preceded in death by his parents and brothers Jack Christensen and James Christensen.
Friends and family are invited to attend a Celebration of Life service at 1:00 pm on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park located at 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Bernie’s memory.

Rex Lee Melton was born in Springfield, Illinois on May 10, 1931, and passed away on October 18, 2018. Rex moved to California after serving 3 years in Korea as a decorated PFC with the United States Marine Corp. Rex loved hunting, fishing, golfing, RVing and of course talking. Rex retired at the age of 59 from Operating Engineers Local 3. He was a member of Stockton Elks #218 for 30 years. He will truly be missed. Rex is survived by his wife Shirley Melton (married 62 years) and 3 children; Kathern, Sandra, Rex Jr. and brother Ronnie Lee. 7 grandchildren; Stephanie, Nicholas, Christina, Heather, Stewart Jr., Rex Joseph (RJ), Jennel and 12 great grandchildren.

Samuel “Sam” Marlin went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2018, at the age of 82.
Samuel is survived by his wife of 61 years Audrey; a daughter, Karen Marlin-Sea; and son-in-law David Sea. Further survived by sisters-in-law, a brother-in-law and a number of nieces and nephews.
Sam was born in Spiro Oklahoma on December 23, 1935, to Irene and Henry Marlin. He worked at the Tracy Defense Depot for 30 years, where he worked as a part-time firefighter in addition to his regular duties as a warehouse supervisor. Sam was also a volunteer firefighter for the Tracy Fire Department. Samuel and Audrey moved to Lodi in 2005 to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law.
Sam was a devoted husband, loving father, a skilled carpenter and took great pride in being a volunteer firefighter. He loved traveling by RV with his wife and visited a number of US states as well as British Columbia. He also enjoyed camping and fishing. In his younger years, Sam played guitar and sang his favorite Hank Williams songs with his father and brothers.
Sam will be deeply missed by his family, friends and all who knew him.

Carla Johanna Gavieres passed away October 17, 2018 in Lodi at the age of 73. She was born in the Netherlands on December 24, 1944 to Johan and Willemina Van Ginkel. In 1962, she came to the United States, being one of the first from her family to immigrate. One of her fondest careers was working for Kentucky Fried Chicken. For many years from the late 1960’s to the mid 1980’s, she managed various locations, including opening up the first KFC in Lodi, Ca. In her later years, she worked for Galt High school as a Custodian, where she eventually retired from.
She is survived by her beloved children: Uriia Arrington (Jerome), Holly Haworth, Johan Gavieres; grandchildren: Brittany Haworth, Kyle Haworth, Leilani Lucero, Kailee Arrington, Luke Arrington, Deyla Gavieres; and her brother Robert Van Ginkel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her sister Stella Pereira.
At her request, private family services were held.

Tommie Sue Osburn, age 79, of Lodi, after a short illness, died October 15, 2018 at Lodi Memorial Hospital with family by her side. Sue, or "Auntie Sue," was born December 24, 1938 at home in Douthat, OK, the youngest of three children and the only daughter. Her father, Thomas, was a miner and entrepreneur when Sue was young. Her mother, Julia, was a homemaker.
When Sue was only a few years old she moved with her family to Ione, CA where she grew up. She attended schools in Ione and graduated from Ione High School. She was on the high school yearbook staff the year the yearbook was dedicated to her brother, who worked at the school. Also, while in high school she proved to be a good tennis player and continued to play tennis for much of her life. She played on a women's softball team named Ben's Bells, which was sponsored by her brother's business. Sue also enjoyed reading and had remarkably good and distinctive hand writing throughout her life. Additionally, she enjoyed country music, besides spending time with family.
After high school and through a friend, Sue got a job at Pacific Bell, which later became part of AT&T, in Jackson, CA. This started her life-long career as a telephone operator. When the Jackson telephone office closed she moved to Lodi to work in that office and later worked in the Stockton office, where she retired.
Sue never married or had kids. But she doted over her nieces and nephews. Also, she loved animals, especially cats. She owned many cats over the years and most were ones she rescued. She was a dependable donor to many cat and animal rescue organizations.
Sue was especially famous for her home-made fudge, which she gave out generously and it was joyfully received. She also was generous and compassionate with family and friends. She often created tasks for her nieces and nephews to do as an excuse to pay them in order to help them pay for school or the essentials they needed.
Sue's relatives were always her first priority. She and her brothers were very close, and they always doted over her. After she was retired one of her bothers called to talk with her every day. Her nieces and nephews were very fond of her. Sue was kind, funny and fun to be with. She had a deep knowledge of family history and was the go-to person for anything related to family history.
Auntie Sue was a committed Christian who believed in the value of faith, love and kindness.
Auntie Sue is survived by her many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in her death by her parents Tom and Julia, and by her brothers Leoland and Ben.
The family wishes to especially thank Debbie Fraser, Auntie Sue's niece and the daughter of Leoland, whom Sue asked to take the lead in her care. The family also wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Lodi Memorial Hospital for Sue's excellent care.
SERVICE
The memorial service will be held at 1:00pm Saturday October 27, 2018 at Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park located at 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240. Committal will be in the Last Supper Mausoleum at Cherokee Memorial Park, located at Harney Lane and Hwy 99, Lodi, CA 95240.

Robert Earle Pollard, 94, went to his heavenly Home to be with his Savior Jesus Christ on October 13, 2018.
Though born in Van Nuys, CA on April 18, 1924, he spent much of his childhood in Sheep Ranch with his seven siblings. After graduating from Linden High, he entered the Army, where he served in the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany, France and Austria during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946 as a Technical Sergeant. Just as he served with valor, he continued to revere the U.S. flag and freedoms, for which he fought. Upon his return, he wed his fiancee, 17-year-old Corinne, and they made their home in Stockton. In time, two daughters, Deborah and Judith, completed their family. Through his years of employment, Bob utilized his engineering and artistic talents in diverse ways: a machinist at Geiger Iron Works, a draftsman for PG&E and for a patent attorney; 20 years as the manager of a large egg ranch in Clements, and lastly, 20 years as a technician for the School of Engineering at UOP. At 81, he retired to spend time with Corinne, traveling about the the U.S. and Europe, or just enjoying their hilltop view at their Clements home, which he designed and built at age 60. They remained actively involved at Temple Baptist (now GracePoint) Church, Lodi for over 30 years. He taught us all how to persevere in life, especially when he sustained serious injuries caused by a tractor accident. He loved to tease and bring a smile to others. He is preceded in death by six of his siblings and his first granddaughter, Shyanne. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Corinne; his brother, Harold Hansen of Sonora; his two daughters, Debbie (Jim) Poelstra of Stockton, and Judie (Rich) Moreno of Stockton; four grandchildren: Tim (Melody) Poelstra of Stockton; Steven Poelstra of Seattle. WA; Sarah Moreno of Pacifica, CA; and Rich Moreno Jr. of Stockton; and two great-grandchildren, Jonah and Hannah Poelstra; along with many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will take place on Sat., October 27 at 2 PM at GracePoint Church in Lodi. In his memory, donations may be given to The Gideons International, Processing Center, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251 or to Samaritan's Purse, P.O. Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607-3000. Carmen Espinoza passed away in Lodi on October 13, 2018 at the age of 65. She was born in Mexico to Alfonso and Soledad Ramos on April 24, 1953. Carmen’s life was one of hard work and singular dedication to her family. She worked many years as a cannery worker for Pacific Coast Producers, and for Lodi Unified School District for over 20 years. Her greatest joy in life came from caring for and spending time with her beloved family, often referring to her grandchildren as her “Treasures”.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers Alfredo and Jesus. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Genaro Espinoza, 3 children: Genaro Espinoza Jr., Lisette Dorado (Efrain), Orlando Espinoza, and a daughter-in-law Juanita; her grandchildren: Genarito, Dianna, Michael, Jazmine, and Giselle; and by her sisters: Maria, Elisa, Eva, and Cholita.
