Alma Holmes

May 11, 1930 - November 23, 2018

Alma Jean Holmes, age 88 of Stockton, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 23, 2018. She was born in Corning, KS, the only child of Warren and Mabel Smith. The family moved to Stockton in 1945. Alma Jean graduated from Stockton High School and University of the Pacific with her teaching credential in Elementary Education. She taught 1 year in Davis, CA, and 5 years in S.U.S.D. After raising her family, she returned to the workforce outside the home at Humphreys College as a librarian for 16 years. She was also an active member of Central United Methodist Church.

Alma Jean is preceded in death by her parents, and son James Bruce Holmes. She is survived by her husband of 65 years Charles Edward Holmes, her daughter Margaret Ann Dasso (Andrew Jr.) and grandchildren Andrew Dasso III (Meghan), Michael Dasso, and Christine Dasso.

SERVICE

A Celebration of Life service will be held for Alma Jean on Saturday, December 15, 2018 4:30pm, at Central United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 3700 Pacific Ave. Stockton, CA 95204 (Memo line: Youth Camp & Mission Ministry) or charity of your choice.

Staci Woltkamp

November 21, 1966- November 22, 2018

Staci Woltkamp passed away on Nov. 22, 2018 in Lodi, CA.


Staci was born in Lodi, CA to Matt and Delores Mutschler on Nov. 21, 1966. She graduated from Lodi High School and was a life long resident of Lodi. She is survived by her mother Delores Mustchler, her husband Brian Woltkamp, her son Zachary Woltkamp, her sister Terra Kaufman (Matt), nephew Ethan Kaufman, niece Emma Kaufman, and many more family and friends that will miss her. She was preceded in death by her father Matt Mutschler.

SERVICE
A celebration of life for Staci will be held at the Woman's Club of Lodi, 325 W. Pine St., Lodi, CA, on Dec. 1, 2018

Jean Schrader

July 21, 1921 - November 21, 2018

Jean Morgan Schrader of Stockton, California passed away peacefully on November 21, 2018 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She was born on July 21, 1936 to David and Nellie Dickason Morgan in Emporia, Kansas. Jean met her high school sweetheart, Don, when she was 16 and he was 17 years old. A graduate of Emporia High School and Emporia State University, she was a registered Medical Technologist. They were married for 61 years. Jean and Don moved to Stockton in 1965 to open their first McDonald's franchise, which she was still involved with until her passing.

She was well known for her generosity, kindness and endless energy. Jean's hard work, perseverance and diligence served her well, as they continued to open new franchises in San
Joaquin County. She was a strong leader with a good business sense and she touched all whom she met. Jean led committees responsible for the selection of furniture and decor for the original Sacramento Ronald McDonald House. She was also on the committee for the original Ronald McDonald House at Stanford. Jean was very active in the San Joaquin County community including: Hanot Foundation, ARC of San Joaquin, Omega Nu, Ladybugs, and the Adult Activity Center. She was a huge fan of the UOP Tigers basketball team, often traveling to their out of town games.

She was a loving wife, a caring mother and a doting grandmother who loved to spend time with her family. Her six grandchildren affectionately called her "Gogo", as she was always on the go, especially when she spent time with them in Aptos.

She will be missed and is survived by her husband Don, and two children: Nancy and Craig (Cathleen). Jean is also survived by her grandchildren Carli, Meghan, and Dylan Schrader and Corey (Jennifer), Brad, and Taylor Johnson. Jean was proceeded in death by her daughter Susan, by her parents, and her brother Harold David Morgan

Services will be private. A celebration of Jean's life will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers,
donations in Jean's name can be sent to Hanot Foundation, P. O. Box 950, Lockeford, CA 95237 or Ronald McDonald House, 255 49th St., Sacramento, CA 95817.

Edward Kubota

November 11, 1938 - November 20, 2018

Edward "Eddie" Kubota, 80, passed away on 11/20/18. Eddie was born on 11/11/38 in Los Angeles, the eldest of 3 children. He married his high school sweetheart Virginia Anguiano in 1964. He worked for many years at Sell Rite Market and served 27 years in the US Army.


Eddie is preceded in death by his parents John and Tomoyo and sister Dorthy. He is survived by this wife Virginia, sons Ronald and James, daughter-in-law Mitzi, grandson Ivan, youngest sister June, and numerous nieces and nephews.

SERVICE
A memorial service will be held 12/1/18, 1 pm, at Buddhist Church of Lodi, 23 N Stockton Street.

Pearl O’Sullivan

May 28, 1928 - November 18, 2018

Marie was born in Los Angeles to Thomas & Maudella Johnson.  She passed away months after her happy 90th birthday celebration with family & friends. She married Thomas (Sully) W. O’Sullivan, moving several times before settling in Stockton in 1956.  Sully died unexpectedly in 1959, leaving Marie a widow at age 31.  She was a strong, loving, independent woman who raised 9 children, and worked hard to support and guide them into adulthood.  She retired from San Joaquin Co. after 25 yrs.  She was a longtime member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.  She loved family gatherings, mysteries, crosswords, music and old movies.

She is survived by 6 of 9 children - Thomas P. (Lydia), Darrell (Mary), Kelley, Melinda (Chuck), Annette (Scott), and Kerry, and pre-deceased by 3 - Merlyn Anne, Maureen and Timothy.  She is also survived by 2 siblings - Darryl (Jeanette) Johnson and Nalda Grassini, and pre-deceased by her sister Margie.  She left behind 47 grandchildren spanning three generations!

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 26, 2018 from 10:00am to 8:00pm at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi, CA 95240.

Services:

Services for Pearl will be held on Tuesday November 27, 2018 at 10:00am at Trinity Presbyterian Church of Stockton, followed by burial at Cherokee Memorial, Lodi, at noon.  In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to Trinity Presbyterian Church (Stockton) or Western Neuropathy Assoc.

Mitzuko “Mitzi” Hatanaka

4/22/1921 – 11/18/2018

Of Stockton

Mitzuko “Mitzi” Hatanaka passed away peacefully at home on November 18, 2018 in Stockton, California. She was born April 22, 1921 to Genzo and Umeyo Fujimoto on the Mandeville Tract in San Joaquin County. Mitzi grew up in French Camp, and moved to Tracy after returning from an internment camp. She lived in Stockton for the past 30 years. Mitzi was a member of the Buddhist Church of Stockton, and will be remembered as an avid golfer.

Mitzi is survived by her children, Elaine Hatanaka and Bruce Hatanaka, and her sisters, Chiyo Mikawa and Joyce Aya Onizuka, and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in passing are her husband, George Hatanaka, her son, Wayne Hatanaka, her parents, and sisters, Irene Nakano and Edna Yabuno.
