Mitchell Thomas Orrick Jan. 30, 1987 - July 15, 2019 Mitchell Thomas Orrick , 32, of Stockton, CA, passed away on July 15th, 2019 in Rohnert Park, CA. Mitchell was born in Stockton to Thomas B. Orrick and Denise D. Van Airsdale on January 30th, 1987. He had a love for the outdoors and enjoyed camping, fishing and working on cars. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He will be dearly missed. Mitchell joins his father, Thomas Orrick, his grandparents, Jack and Joanna Lucas; his grandparents, Harold and Johnie Belle Van Airsdale; and his grandmother, Betty Jeffers in heaven. He is survived by his daughter, Bree Orrick; his parents, Denise and Harold Van Airsdale; his brother, Hunter Orrick; his sisters Amanda Orrick; Brittney Van Airsdale, and Erika Cearley; his grandparents, Jerry and Sharon Orrick; his grandfather, Ron Jeffers; and many nieces and nephews. Please join us in a celebration of his life at 11:00am, July 25th at the Stockton Golf and Country Club 3800 W. Country Club Blvd., Stockton.

Effiedean Masako Komure – Hanway

January 29, 1944 - July 15, 2019

On Monday, July 15, 2019, Effie Komure-Hanway passed away after a long battle with various complications from aortic surgery at the age of 75. Effie was born in the Japanese internment camps in Rohwer, Arkansas on January 29, 1944 to Irene and the late Bill Furuoka.

Effie and her two brothers, Seiji and Lucky Furuoka, grew up on a vineyard in Lodi, California. She raduated from Lodi High School in 1962 and completed her BA in Art at Sacramento State. In 1967, Effie married her late husband Arito Komure and they made their home in Sacramento where they raised two daughters, Heather and Corianne. Effie taught Home Economics and Art for Sacramento City Unified and would eventually become an Academic Counselor at California Middle School and JFK High School. Effie worked for the SCUSD for 35 years. After the death of her first husband, Arito, Effie found love again and married Stephen Hanway in 2014. Effie loved painting, traveling, knitting, gardening, aqua aerobics, book club and singing in the choir. She also enjoyed spending time with her active grandchildren and friends. Effie was a devoted member of Parkview Presbyterian Church and Sigma Alpha Sigma Sorority. She was very creative and passionate about the arts. Until her passing, she attended watercolor painting classes with her 99 year old mom in Lodi.

Effie is survived by her husband, Stephen Hanway; mother, Irene Furuoka; daughter, Heather Komure-Chan; son-in-law, Scott Chan; daughter, Corianne Birnbaum; son-in-law, Reed Birnbaum; grandchildren, Ethan, Keiko, Dylan, Glenn, Emiko, and Ari.

SERVICES:

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, August 10, 2019, at 10:30am at Parkview Presbyterian Church, 727 T Street, Sacramento, CA 95811.

The family suggest sending memorial contributions to Parkview Presbyterian Church or Loaves & Fishes.

Janet Ruth Pichler

December 18, 1937 - July 14, 2019

Janet Ruth Pichler passed away peacefully at home on July 14, 2019 at the age of 81. Born in Erie Pennsylvania on December 18, 1937 to Paul and Helen Newton, in 1974 she traveled to California to be near family who lived in San Diego. After retiring from a career as a skilled typesetter, she relocated to Stockton to be near her children. She belonged to several service clubs including the Veterans Club and Ladies of the Moose Club. For the past 25 years, she served as a dedicated volunteer for Kaiser Permanente in Stockton where she thrived in assisting patients with their needs. She enjoyed dinners out, bingo with friends and spending time with her family. Janet is survived by her loving children, Pauline Huff, Patty Garcia and Frank Pichler (Alesha). In addition to her 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews which she adored, she doted on her beloved cat, Miss Holly.

VISITATION
A visitation will be held prior to the service on Friday, July 19th, 2019 from 12:00p.m. noon to 1:00p.m. at the Vineyard Chapel in Cherokee Memorial Park, located at 14165 N. Beckman Road, Lodi CA, 95240.

Norman Page

Norman A. Page Sept. 18, 1930 -July 10, 2019 Norman A. Page "Norm" of Lodi, CA passed away July 10, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. Norm was born in Treat, AR Sept. 18, 1930 to Mart and Mattie Page. He was the youngest of 12 children. In 1944 he traveled to California on the back of a flatbed truck to join family that was already here. He settled in Linden and worked as a ranch hand on the Vignolo Ranch. He attended Linden High School where he met and later married Ruth Scheffel and started a family. Later he worked for Dohrman's Department Store and soon thereafter began a long and successful career in car sales. He was an award-winning fleet sales manager known for his honest reputation. Over the years he made many friends and had a loyal following at each dealership he represented. He retired from Big Valley Ford in 2008 at age of 78. In 1961 he married Ramona Townlin Houston creating a very large blended family. They were married for 56 years until her death in 2017. During their life together they enjoyed casinos, gardening, camping, and fishing. They always loved having children and grandchildren surrounding them. In later years his love of children and nature led him to become a docent for Lodi Lake Nature Trail where he guided thousands of school children sharing his knowledge of the outdoors. Norm is survived by 11 children, 32 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Page, three infant sons, and his stepson, John Houston. Donations can be made in his name to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of San Joaquin.

SERVICE

Norm's funeral will be held Mon., July 15, 2017 at 3pm at the Vineyard Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 N. Beckman Rd, Lodi, CA 95240 followed by a reception at Micke Grove Park at the Julia Harrison Memorial Building 11793 N. Micke Grove Rd, Lodi.

Owen Moore Jr.

06/30/1924 - 07/10/2019

Owen C. Moore Jr., born June 30th, 1924 in Los Angeles, California, The only child of Owen and Leone Moore. Raised in Wilmar and graduated from Mark Keppel High School in late 1942, entered the armed service and served through World War II and the Korean Conflict with honorable conduct to the rank of Tech Sergeant. Attended broadcasting school through the G.I. bill in Hollywood, California and worked in various radio and television stations in the west. Finally he settling in Stockton, California in 1965, where he met and married Lillian M. Gilder in 1969. Owen retired in 1989. Owen and Billie were active in various yacht clubs, and social clubs and enjoyed a good life. Lillian, passed away in 2004. Owen leaves a step-sister, Colleen Gregory, of Redding California, also Susi Gilder-Hayes of New York and Jackson Gilder of San Francisco, the children of Lillian.

Services will handled privately by Cherokee Memorial Park, Sierra View Mausoleum, and services will be private.
