Sau Huie

Sau K. Huie
November 4, 1934 - May 4, 2025

Sau King Huie, 90, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 4, 2025 in Rocklin, California.

Sau was a devoted wife and the proud mother of seven beautiful children.  As she would often say to others, she had “five boys, two girls” -- a “full house” (or a winning hand) in her eyes!  Nothing meant more to Sau than her love for her family.

Sau was born in China on November 4, 1934.  She married John Kuan Huie in 1956 and later immigrated to Stockton, California in 1962 with their three children: Chuck, Susie and Wayne. While in the United States, the immediate family grew to include Daniel, Peter, Andrew and Vera.

While raising their seven children together, Sau worked various jobs for local businesses in the San Joaquin Valley, that included Tillie Lewis Foods, Del Monte Corporation, Huey Brothers Farm and local Chinese restaurants. Sau was committed to hard work and self-discipline so that she could provide her children with opportunities that she never had.  And, for that, her children will be forever grateful.  Sau’s love continues to exist in the hearts of her entire loving family, with the expectation that it will continue on to future generations.

In 2001, Sau and John moved to Rocklin, California, where they spent the remainder of their retirement years relaxing. Sau enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and spending time with her ever-growing family.

Sau is survived by her husband, John and their children Chuck (Aida), Susie (Kevin), Wayne (Laura), Daniel (Vivian), Peter (Julie), Andrew (Debby) and Vera (Mark).

She is also survived by her twelve grandchildren, Dr. Ashley (Dr. Andrew), Amelia (Brandon), April, Gina (Kelly), Kristina, Linda, Philip (Sarah), Kyle (Brenda), AJ (Brittany), Jessica, Brandon and Kayla.

And by her thirteen great grandchildren, Olivia, KJ, Kiana, Kole, Kaie, Kodi, Konor, Xavier, Saoirse, Theodore, Liam, Elizabeth and Adeline.

VISITATION AND SERVICE:
A visitation will be held at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in Lodi, CA on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 from 10:00am – 12:00 pm.  Funeral services will follow at 1:00 pm, with a Celebration of Life after the service.

Sylvia Bugarin

The Most Gentle and Kind, Beloved Sylvia
January 5, 1952 - May 2, 2025

Sylvia Poblete Bugarin lived her life spreading kindness to the world. She was selfless and silly, creative and compassionate.

Sylvia was born in the Philippines on January 5, 1952, to Lourdes Catig Poblete and Augusto Alemani Poblete. She was the fourth of eight siblings—Myrna, Byron, Tony, Cyril, Lydia, Lyle, and Tyrone. She immigrated to the United States in 1970 and settled in San Francisco. She soon befriended Alice, Myrna, and Susan, and shared adventures exploring the city. They remained friends throughout her life.

She married Tony Bugarin in 1973 and cultivated a rich home life for her daughters Precious, Desiree, Melissa, and Elizabeth. She was the family manager, a dedicated mother and spouse. In 1986, she received her Associate of Arts degree and taught preschool in addition to caring for her family. In 1991, she became a U.S. citizen.

Sylvia’s dream of having a family of her own was realized with Tony. Her home came alive with art, love, security, and song. The family grew with the addition of Ricky, Adam, Iris, and Elizabeth. In 2010, grandchildren Nico and Emi arrived, and soon after, Christian was born. With the youngest additions, love surged through the family—Sylvia was now Lola, Loli, or Mugga, depending on which grandchild was calling.

Sylvia was an expert seamstress, making custom costumes for special occasions and quilts gifted when babies were born. Creating came easily to her, and her artistry lived in watercolor paintings, crocheted garments, and carefully designed dresses. She often learned new techniques and loved video tutorials—she mastered skills with ease.

Sylvia was the ultimate mom. She charmed everyone she met and connected with people through a love for humanity and a natural curiosity about life. A born nurturer, Sylvia tried to understand everyone's needs and did her best to meet them, even in her last days.

On May 2, 2025, Sylvia passed peacefully at home with family at her side. She is survived by her husband, Tony; her children, Precious, Desiree, Melissa, and Elizabeth; their partners, Adam, Elizabeth, Ricky, and Iris; and her grandchildren, Nico, Emi, and Christian. She is also survived by her siblings Myrna, Tony, Lydia, Lyle, and Tyrone. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lourdes and Augusto, and her brothers, Byron and Cyril.

She will be deeply missed, and all those whose lives she touched are fortunate to have been a part of hers.

Ronald Takahashi

In Loving Memory of Ronald Ichiro Takahashi
September 30, 1943 – April 29, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, grandfather, and brother, Ronald Ichiro Takahashi, who passed away peacefully at the age of 81. He was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 30, 1943, and was raised and lived most of his life in Stockton.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Jill Takahashi; his loving children, Jaime and her husband Bob Marlowe, and his son Bryan Takahashi; and his cherished grandchildren, Dylan, Chloe, and Emily Marlowe, and Mila and Rylan Takahashi. He is also remembered fondly by his siblings and their spouses: Debbie and David Ojeda, Donna and Yo Ueda, and Don Takahashi - along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Ron dedicated many years of his life working as a groundskeeper at Delta College, where his warm personality and pride in his work left a lasting impression.

He found joy in the simple pleasures of life - spending time on the golf course, capturing the world through his camera lens, honing his skills at the gun range, playing cards with friends, and getting lost in the stories of films and melodies of his favorite music. But perhaps nothing brought him more happiness than sharing a good meal with those he loved. His enthusiasm for food, whether it was a family favorite or a new discovery, was infectious and often brought us all together. Those who knew him will remember his gentle spirit and the quiet sense of humor he brought to our lives.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and memories that will continue to live on in the hearts to those who loved him.

In accordance with his wishes, no formal service will be held. To honor his memory, we invite you to hit a golf ball, snap a photo, shoot a few rounds at the gun range, savor a favorite meal, or make a donation to your favorite charity - just as he would have loved.

Please leave your condolences below.
