Stephen L. Pittavino, PH.D.

April 11, 1947 - October 4, 2025

Stephen L. Pittavino passed away unexpectedly on Oct.4,2025 at the age of 78 yrs., after a long illness.

He will be deeply missed by his loving partner Sharon Van Iderstine; son of the late John and Sira Pittavino.

Leaves also cousins  and many friends. Steve was proud of his Italian Heritage and will be missed by his loving extended family in Italy.

A native of San Francisco ; graduate of St. Michael's grammar school, Saint Ignatius H.S., graduate of USF completing his  BA.  Interned at UC Davis School of Medicine in Community-Clinical Psychology.
Completed his studies at  University of Wyoming where he received his PH.D. in 1978.

Steve had a successful private practice as a Clinical Psychologist for 40yrs. In Napa, Calif. and also specializing in Forensics.

Three of his enjoyments were the fellowship he shared with “Club 65” ," Insight Meditation Group “ every Saturday, and looked forward to his weekly Tai Chi practice in Lodi. Not to mention Taco Mondays!

Steve was a dog lover , avid cyclist, who loved fishing and hiking. His retirement years brought him new friendships and new adventures.

SERVICE

In his memory  a Celebration of his Life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, November 8th, 2025 located at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home  in the J. Charles Irwin Reception Center.

Linda Newsom

September 1, 1952 - October 3, 2025

In Loving Memory, Linda Eve Newsom peacefully departed this life on Friday October 3, 2025 at the age of 73, at home in Stockton, CA. Born on September 1, 1952, to parents Eugene Faris Farley and Eva Farley. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents and stepbrothers Clyde Leroy Thomas and Lyle Donald Thomas.

Linda leaves behind husband James Edward Newsom Jr. and sons Trevor Eugene Newsom and Garrett Edward Newsom, step children Timothy James Newsom, Lisa Lauderdale, and Michael Lauderdale, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Buddy Lauderdale.

She graduated from Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento. After she moved to Stockton, she went to work at Farmers & Merchants Bank for nineteen years. She then went to work at Blue Shield for eighteen years before retiring.

Linda loved her family and would host many functions in our home. She loved cooking, baking, shopping, and being there for of her family. She lived a life filled with kindness, strength, and devotion to her family and friends. She will be missed by all every day.

In Loving Memory of Eleanor Elizabeth Topping
July 1, 1929 – October 3, 2025 Age 96.

Eleanor Elizabeth Topping, beloved mother and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 96.

Eleanor lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, faith, and strength. She was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the way she always put her family first. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where everyone felt welcome and loved.

She was an incredible cook, best known for her homemade tortillas and delicious Mexican dishes that brought her family together. It never failed—if anyone didn’t feel like cooking, they could come to her house without knocking and know there would be a warm meal waiting, always with enough to take home.

Eleanor also loved to dance and enjoyed every moment of it until she was no longer able to keep her balance. Her joy and energy will forever be remembered by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Topping, her daughter Catherine Edna Jackson, her son-in-law Steve Jackson, and her grand daughter Ashieigh Taylor Whitlock

Eleanor is survived by her children: Margaret Ann Chavez and her husband Skippy, Leroy Steven Topping and his wife Kori, and Stephanie Lynn Topping. She also had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly, as well as many other loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Lawrence Edward Willis Jr.

Lawrence Edward Willis Jr.
November 15, 1985 - October 3, 2025

Lawrence is survived by his mother, Audrey Willis. Other family/close friends: Dante' Willis (Brother) his Wife Getsemani Willis, Daughter Imani Willis, and son Amare Willis, Marque Willis (Brother) his wife Crystal Willis, Sons Nehemiah and Terrence Willis. 

Lawrence is preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Edward Willis Sr.

Lawrence Edward Willis Jr. dedicated his life to serving others through medicine and community care. A proud graduate of UC Irvine, where he earned his B.S./B.A. in Biology and Cognitive Psychology (2007-2010), Lawrence continued his studies at the University of California, Davis - School of Medicine, earning his Doctor of Medicine (MD) in 2018. 

He served as a Resident Physician at UCSF East Bay General Surgery, where he was admired for his compassion, professionalism, and commitment to equitable health care. He recently began as fellow in Pediatric Surgery at Phoenix Children's Hospital. 

Before medical school, Lawrence worked as a Senior Therapist at The Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), helping children and families navigate developmental challenges with empathy and skill. His volunteer service at St. Joseph's Medical Center's Outpatient Surgery Center (2011-2012) reflected his deep belief in giving back to the community.

Lawrence was passionate about children's health, civil rights, education, and science, and he valued collaboration, mentorship, and the pursuit of knowledge. His legacy continues through the lives he touched as a healer, friend, and advocate.

April 22, 1944 - September 30, 2025

It is with deep love and sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved great grandmother, grandmother and mother, Jessie Castro Terrones who departed this life on September 30, 2025 at the age of 82

Born on April 22, 1944 in French Camp, she lived a life filled with kindness, strength, and devotion to her family. She was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and the gentle way she cared for those around her. Her home was always a place of welcome, laughter, and comfort.

Jessie treasured her role as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She leaves behind her children Gregorio, Francisco, and Jaime. Grandchildren Theresa, Francisco II, Gregorio III, Corina, Mitchel, Francisca, and Genifer and great-grandchildren Francisco III, Joesph, Esmeralda, Marisela, Brooklynn, Santino, Howard, Justin, Julian, Layla, Edward, Tyler, Adrian, and Georgie, and great great grandchildren Marco, Mateo, and Evalia who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Though her later years were challenged by illness, her spirit never wavered. She faced each day with resilience and grace, reminding us of the importance of love, faith, and family.

Services to honor her life will be held on October 16, 2025 at Cherokee Memorial, 14165 Beckman Road, Lodi, CA. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance, to share stories, and to celebrate the remarkable woman she was.

Her legacy of love, compassion, and strength will continue to inspire all who knew her. Though we mourn her passing, we take comfort in knowing she is at peace and reunited with those who went before her. We love you and will miss you eternally.

Shawn Chavez

February 13, 1973 - September 20, 2025

Shawn E. Chavez, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away recently in Stockton, California. Born on February 13, 1973, Shawn was a vibrant presence whose generous spirit and unwavering compassion touched the lives of everyone he met.

Born in Silver City, New Mexico, Shawn spent the last 45 years as a resident of the Lodi-Stockton area. A self-employed contractor and designated wheelman to many, he built a life defined by hard work and, more importantly, a deep commitment to serving others. Shawn’s true passions were rooted in his community, his family, and his many friendships. He was known for his love of entertaining and catering, always ensuring every gathering was filled with delicious food and great company.

Shawn found deep tranquility and happiness on the water—whether fishing or simply enjoying the serene sunsets on the Delta - moments when he was truly a “happy camper.”

His heart belonged to those in need, especially animals. Shawn was constantly involved in animal rescue and rehoming efforts, helping countless creatures find loving forever homes. He also supported the Lions Club International and other charity organizations in their humanitarian work. In his community, Shawn was a leader, always ready to take the initiative on any project that needed attention. He was a man of immense compassion who took pride in helping others, always putting their needs first—a true natural giver who could never say no to anyone.

Shawn’s enduring legacy will be his matchless positivity, infectious laughter, kindness to strangers, friends, and family alike, and his constant readiness to lend a helping hand – no matter the circumstance.

Dane Condrey

March 3, 1955 - September 29, 2025

Dane Hardin Condrey, 70, of Stockton, California, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 3, 1955, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to James Montgomery Condrey and Lorna Maxine Condrey, Dane was the beloved younger brother of Christina Campos. He is now reunited in heaven with his parents, sister, and his wife, Linda Beth Condrey (Hemans), with whom he shared 28 beautiful years of marriage.

Dane was a devoted father to his three children: Jeremy Condrey, Dana Dacanay and her husband Robert Dacanay, and Kristen Condrey-Pamani and her husband Russell Pamani. He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren and a great-grandfather to 4 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy.

A proud veteran, Dane served in the United States Marine Corps, enlisting on September 5, 1973, as a US Marine. He was honorably discharged, carrying with him the values of service, dedication, and resilience.

For over 30 years, Dane worked with Delta Hawkeye Security, where he was admired for his loyalty, strong work ethic, and commitment.

Outside of work, Dane found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He loved spending time with family and friends, camping under the stars, casting a line while fishing, cheering on the San Francisco 49ers, enjoying good food, and browsing for treasures on Amazon. His kind heart, silly sense of humor, and easygoing nature made him a friend to all and a hero to his family.

He will be remembered most as “Papa Dane,” whose love, laughter, and warmth will remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

The Condrey family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with his loved ones and will continue to watch over them. He will be loved and cherished always and forever.

Earl Neal

April 20, 1944 - September 29, 2025

Dr. Earl Andrews Neal, born April 20, 1944, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, at the age of 81. A dedicated physician for over 40 years, Earl served his community with compassion and care through his work with Kaiser Permanente and later with Sutter Health.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Theodosia Neal; his sister, Theo Neal; and his beloved wife, Sandie Neal.

He is lovingly remembered by his children, Jennifer McGranahan (Chris), Scott McCall, and Jeffrey Neal (Heather); his nephew, David Neal; his grandchildren, Megan, Haley, Alex, Payton, Regan, Kieran, Drew, Joshua, and Ryan; and his great-grandchildren, PJ and Owen.

Earl will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his patients, his deep love for his family, and his kind and steady presence in the lives of all who knew him.

He will be greatly missed.

Patrick Murphy Slamon

November 1, 1945 - September 27, 2025

Patrick Murphy Slamon, age 79, passed away at Lodi Memorial Hospital on Saturday September 27, 2025. He was born in Corpus Christi, Texas on November 1,1945. He graduated from Hilltop High School, Chula Vista, CA in 1963 and went on to earn his BA at San Diego State University. Then years later earned his Law Degree at Humphrey’s University, Drivon School of Law. He was a 50 year resident of Stockton, CA and served as Assistant Deputy District Attorney for 20 years in San Joaquin County.  His hobbies and interests included painting, music, hot air balloon pilot, bodybuilder and surfer. He was a good husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was an extremely intelligent man with a very high IQ. He was a generous man who was always willing to help his family, friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife Maria, his son Johnny, his brother Ken and sister in-law Judy, his brother Steve and sister in-law Patti and his beloved nephews and nieces Sean, Shannon, Kelli, Alison, Brian and Sandy. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.

Betty Williams

November 12, 1927 - September 27, 2025

Betty Williams was born November 12, 1927, and passed away September 27, 2025, a few weeks shy of her 98th birthday. She was born in Nebraska and spent most of her childhood in South Dakota, as one of twelve children. She was very close with her parents and siblings.

Betty went to St. Vincent’s College of Nursing in Sioux City, Iowa and later worked in the polio ward of Denver General Hospital. Soon after graduation she met George Williams, a doctor finishing his training at the University of Colorado. They were married on September 12, 1950, and moved to California so that George could report to the Oakland Naval Station Hospital, where he served during the Korean War. Ten months later Mary Jo was born, followed in quick succession by Lou Ann, Jeri, Mike and Gina. They moved to Lodi in 1953, where Betty had family. Betty was busy raising her children but also found time to travel, play golf and her favorite pastimes were shopping and following her Giants and 49ers. She was the life of the party; she loved to entertain, and she and George had a busy social life. They played golf in all 50 states and several other countries. When her children were grown, she and George bought a second home in Manzanillo, Mexico, where she spent many winters and enjoyed making new friends.

Betty knew she was blessed to live a long, happy and healthy life. She loved spending time with her growing family, including her son-in-law Blake and daughter-in-law Stacy who were both very special to her. She and the entire family spent annual summer vacations in Lake Tahoe and holidays in Lodi. A phenomenal cook, she hosted every Thanksgiving and Christmas in her home, preparing everyone’s favorite dishes on her own well into her 90’s. She was “Ticker” to George, and she was “Nana” to her 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In just the past few months, Betty was thrilled to learn about an upcoming wedding and another baby on the way. She made everyone giggle with her email name of “Beefeater Betty,” a fun reference to her nightly cocktail ritual.

Her family misses her already, but she leaves us with an incredible legacy of love and affection. “Nana” stories will be part of her legacy for generations to come. She will be missed.

Services for Betty will be a private family affair. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the George and Betty Williams scholarship fund at Saint Mary’s High School, 5648 North El Dorado Street, Stockton, CA 95207, Attention: Sharon Caporusso.

Artemio “Teo” Loredo

In Loving Memory of Artemio "Teo" Loredo
1951 – 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Artemio Loredo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. He was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, in 1951 and passed away on September 25, 2025 from heart failure in Stockton, California.

Artemio spent his early years in Indio, California, before relocating to Stockton, California in 1975, where he made his home and built a lifetime of memories surrounded by family and friends.

He was a true car enthusiast, known for his love of lowriders and classic cars. Whether he was working under the hood or polishing a finished project, cars were his passion and his art. His dedication and creativity inspired everyone who knew him.

Artemio was also a devoted sports fan who never missed a chance to cheer for his favorite teams — the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Yankees.

Above all, he was a man with a big heart — someone who cared deeply for his family and brought laughter and warmth wherever he went. His love, kindness, and strength will be deeply missed but forever remembered. He is survived by his loving family - his wife of 56 years, Tommie Loredo, his children, Rachel Loredo, Artemio Loredo Jr., Theresa Loredo-Rodriguez and Valeri Loredo, his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his many nieces and nephews. Each of them carries a piece of his spirit, his humor and his unconditional love.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and cherished memories that will live on through all who knew him.

Andrew Battaglia

November 29, 1934 - September 23, 2025

Andrew Joseph Battaglia, age 90, of Acampo, California, passed away peacefully on 09/23/2025. He was born on November 29, 1934 in Pittsburg, California. His family came to Pittsburg, California from Sicily as fishermen. He lived and raised his family in Fremont, California. He loved sports. While living in Fremont he was a little league baseball and CYO basketball coach. He loved playing cards with his buddies on Friday night. Once he retired from his career as a Sales Manager in 1998, he moved with his wife, son and grandchildren to Acampo. He loved spending time with his five grandchildren. He was often seen riding in the passenger seat of his golf cart while his ten year old granddaughter drove him around the property. He had a very kind soul and was liked by everyone he met. He was a very loving Father, Nonnu and husband. He lived his life following the path of his faith. Even during his last days he would say I love you and blow kisses. He will be greatly missed.
