MaryAnne Hickey was born January 23, 1951 to the late parents of JC and Ida Mae Roots in Bradley, Arkansas. She is the third child out of eleven children: Maxine, Willie, Martha, Flossie, Johnny, CJ, Lousie, Rosemary, Anita and Roy. At a young age, her parents moved to Stockton, California. MaryAnne graduated from Edison High School and later went to Delta College to become a Certified Nurses Aide.
MaryAnne moved to Southern California where she met the father of her one and only surviving son, Jerald McKeever. It's also the place where she discovered the love of fashion. MaryAnne enjoyed doing her makeup and sought out to be a makeup artist and began traveling. While traveling she met, fell in love and married her husband Willis Hickey.
The two of them would travel the states and come back to her mother’s house with stories to tell about their travels. MaryAnne loved buying clothes and looking good. She always kept up with the newest trends even til her last days. She loved her mother dearly and became estranged for years from the family after her death but fate brought her back home and she was able to be with us before she was called home. She will be missed with her feisty self.
She is survived by her brother Roy Robert Roots(Lynn), her son Jerald McKeever and a host of nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
SERVICE
A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, March 27, 2026 at Cherokee Memorial Park, located off Highway 99 at Harney Lane, Lodi CA, 95240.
