OBITUARY

Susan “Sue” Simpson, born Paulette Sue McPherson on October 12, 1950, in Lodi,
California, passed away on July 31, 2026, at O’Connor Woods Memory Care. She
chose the name Sue early in childhood and carried it proudly throughout her life.
Sue attended Lodi Seventh-day Adventist Elementary School and Lodi Academy High
School, later continuing her education at Pacific Union College and Humphreys College.
During her education, she developed a strong sense of identity and the values that
remained central to her life.

In her professional life during the 1970s and 1980s, she was known as Susan Reiswig.
She held multiple positions at Weinstock’s and Macy’s before joining California Cooler,
where she served as vice president of Human Resources.

Her professional accomplishments earned recognition from The Stockton Record, which
named her among the businesswomen making a difference in the community. She
further demonstrated her dedication to public service through her involvement with the
Stockton City Child Abuse Council.

After ten years working in the Bay Area as a Human Resources Vice President for
multiple corporations, she returned to Lodi in 1999. Her final HR manager position was
with a health club organization expanding from 7 to 24 clubs during her tenure. She
retired in 2008.

In 1992, Susan married Richard Simpson, the love of her life. Their marriage was a
partnership built on friendship, laughter, and unwavering devotion. They were soul
mates who supported one another through every chapter.
Susan’s greatest joy was her family. She is cherished and deeply missed by her
surviving husband, Richard; brother, Doug; four children, Tiffany, Robin, Rodney, and
Lance; and three grandchildren, Kayley, Isak, and Liam, who knew her as “Mom,”
