Mark Sutherland born on 6/14/1960 in French Camp, Ca.
Entered to rest on 10/13/2025 (65 years old). Mark was a great dad, loving papa, and a hard worker. He has worked in many trades over the years and worked for Metro Supply Chain in Tracy, CA the past 8 years. Mark enjoyed all sports, however, racing, football, basketball, and softball were the favorites. His passion in sports was racing. Mark raced at Stockton 99 Speedway as well as traveling to the Altamont Speedway, Shasta Speedway, and All American Speedway. For a few seasons he also did double duty racing Delta Speedway on Friday nights and Stockton on Saturday nights. He was a family man and loved gatherings with his family, friends, and grand kids. He was a silent rock for many. Mark is preceded in death by his parents Bill & Joyce Sutherland, his brother's Bill & Victor Sutherland, and his wife Pamela Sutherland. He is survived by his children: Mark Christopher Sutherland, Marissa Pitt (Jake), Marie Sutherland, Stacy Funkhouser (Brian), Mark Sutherland Jr. (Jennifer), and 13 grandchildren.

Doris Elaine Owens passed away October 12th, 2025 at her home in Lodi. Doris was born on July 12th, 1921 in Los Angeles, CA. to Louis and Beulah Wilson Hansen. She attended 8 years of grade school in Corcoran, CA., 4 years at Lodi Academy, and 3 years at Pacific Union College in Angwin, CA. Doris married Dr. Lloyd L. Owens on June 28th, 1942 in Hanford, CA. and they were married for 77 years. They had 2 sons, James Louis Owens and Thomas Ray Owens. Doris was a very active member of English Oaks Seventh Day Adventist Church. She is survived by her brother Wesley Hansen of Hanford, CA. and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Lloyd L. Owens, her sons James Owens and Thomas Owens, her parents Louis and Beulah Hansen and her sister Nadine Ball. At her request, no services will be held. Donations may be made to the James and Thomas Owens Memorial Endowment Fund at Lodi Academy, 1240 S. Rebecca G. Rodriguez, born on November 23, 1952, in El Centro, California. A beloved daughter of Frank and Anselma Garcia. Rebecca passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
A devoted wife, mother, and nana, Rebecca found her greatest joy in raising her children and nurturing them in faith. She instilled in them a love for Christ and the power of prayer — a gift she later shared with her grandchildren, whom she lovingly called her “prayer warriors.” Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her every step and inspiring all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Manuel Rodriguez, and their five children: Rebecca Kaing, Manuel Rodriguez, Modesty Rodriguez, Anselma Rodriguez, and Samuel Rodriguez. She also leaves behind six cherished grandchildren who will forever carry her love and teachings in their hearts.
Her life was a testament to quiet strength, steadfast faith, and unconditional love. Though she will be deeply missed, her spirit remains forever present in the lives she touched.

Barbara Marie Sutton

Barbara Marie Sutton, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on October 11, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Stockton California. She was born on February 23, 1947, in Oakland, California, to Helen Barbara Medeiros and Nicholas Zuvela Jr.
Barbara is survived by her daughter Tamara Marie Sutton and son, Timothy Michael Sutton as well as three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Barbara’s life was defined by her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. She had a gift for making everyone around her feel cared for and valued. Her strength and kindness left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Throughout her life, Barbara cherished time spent with her loved ones—sharing stories, celebrating milestones, and creating memories that will be treasured forever.
Barbara’s legacy will live on in the hearts of those she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

Kevin Wayne Shepard
July 7, 1965 - October 11, 2025
Kevin went to be with his maker on October 11, 2025. He was born on July 7, 1965 in Sacramento, CA the first child of Wayne Shepard and Donna Wallis. From the very first Kevin was a unique child. In kindergarten he didn’t understand why the other kids were playing with blocks and he was expertly playing dominoes and speaking two languages.
After graduating from Tracy High School, he joined the United States Marine Corp serving in the 3rd Battalion/3rd Marines spending time in Korea, the South Pacific and Hawaii. While in the Marines he received a Certificate of Recognition while serving Mess Duty on his ship. He participated in bull riding for the Marine Rodeo Team. This year he was looking forward to celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the founding of the Marines. Always a Marine. That was Kevin, Semper Fi.
After leaving the marines he studied at San Joaquin Delta College, then went to work at U.S. Can (Hunter Container) where he had been a machinist, Supervisor, Section Leader and Plant Wide Safety Inspector until the company closed. He then went to work at Zond, a part of Enron, as a windmill mechanic until Enron went bankrupt. Kevin was a walking encyclopedia. He could converse with anyone on just about any subject with an unusual in-depth knowledge of almost anything. He inherited the family gene of loving and enjoying cooking and eating good food and fine wine when he wasn’t drinking beer and eating sweets. One of the most memorable things he prepared was Lemon Meringue Pie. He loved spending time with the family on the holidays, especially the 4th of July as we always celebrated his birthday on the 4th . He was passionate about his guns, an excellent marksman. He liked to hunt, fish and pan for gold. He was an excellent photographer and has one of his military photos hanging at the Marines’ Memorial Association in San Francisco. On his softer side, he loved his family and his pets and was a poet and writing about his first love, food and friends, although some might consider them “corny” poems.
Kevin was preceded in death by his father Wayne Shepard, grandparents Ben Beeskau, Norma Isbel Beeskau, Riley Shepard and Ruth Shepard, step-father Lynn Wallis and Aunt Judy Cervo. He is survived by his mother Donna Wallis, sisters Karen Huntoon (Shane) and Janette Crouson and nephews Riley Huntoon and Thomas Crouson. He is also survived by his Uncle Lyal Beeskau (Marty) and Aunt Joan Schmoe (Ray) and several cousins.

January 10, 1950 - October 10, 2025
Carlos G. Orihuela was born on January 10, 1950 in Mexico City to his parents Pedro Orihuela Velazquez and Constanza Najera Aguilar. They had a total of six children with Carlos being the oldest of the six. Carlos had one sister and four brothers. He also had two half-brothers and one half-sister. When Carlos was ten years old, his family moved from Mexico City to the north part of Mexico, Mexicali, arriving by train. Carlos was always active in the Catholic Church growing up. While in Mexicali, Carlos met a pair of missionaries from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was baptized on his eighteenth birthday.
He followed his father, who was a migrant worker, to the United States. After Carlos met and married Letty, he attended a welding trade school locally and began working in the field of construction. He was a welder and did pipe fitting for about 35 years. He traveled to different states for work and even worked in some nuclear power plants. His hobbies included knot tying, spending time with his family, and Friday date nights with Letty. Carlos has remained faithful and strong in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He has held many callings within the church which have included Family History Director, Elders Quorum President, President of the Spanish Branch and a Temple Ordinance Worker in the Sacramento Temple and the Oakland Temple.
Carlos met and dated Letty for two years and were then married on April 6, 1970 at the courthouse in Reno, Nevada. Four years later, they were sealed for time and all eternity in the California Oakland Temple in 1974. They were married for fifty-five years. Together, Carlos and Letty had five children: Mark, Paul, Lisa, Gina, and Nina. They have a total of fourteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Carlos loved his family and worked hard his whole life for each of them.

October 11, 1931 - October 9, 2025
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jack Eugene Branstetter. Jack passed away suddenly on October 9, 2025, two days before his 94th birthday. Jack was born in Henryetta, Ok and served in the US Navy during the Korean war. He moved to Lodi in 1954 after the death of his baby boy, Robbie. He was the epitome of kindness and love. He never judged others and loved everyone with open arms. He was a boy scout leader and very engaged in raising his young children. He was a wonderful father and grandfather. Jack had a long career in the telephone company. He was a lineman with Pacific Bell who helped install the first telephone lines down the entire California coast. Later in his career, he worked as an engineer for AT&T in San Francisco and Sacramento.
Jack is survived by Sharon, his wife and the love of his life. They had a wonderful 42 years together and built a beautiful home. He is also survived by his sister, Faye Burke of Decatur Mississippi, children, Kevin, Karla (Jerry), Kelli, Curtis (Nancy), Brenda (Stan), Kathy and Jalayne, his grandchildren Jesse, Jack, Jessica, Brianna, Chad, Josh, Kayla, Evan, Grant and Jake, and 12 great grandchildren.
SERVICES:
There will be a grave side service at Cherokee Memorial Park on Friday, October 17th at 1:00 followed by a celebration of life at Radiant Life Church, 75 N Crescent, Lodi.
January 4, 1944 - October 7, 2025
LAWRENCE “LARRY” ROBERT FRANK, M.D., born January 4, 1944, met his Savior shortly before he died & went to be with Him at the age of 81 on October 7, 2025.
He spent the last months of his life at Summerfield Memory Care in Stockton & the family thanks them for all the care given to "Doc".
He is survived by his wife, Karen Janeen (Webb), sons David Michael & Alexander James, brother-in-law Ronald White (Carol), nephews Douglas (Samira) & Robert (Zepure), nieces Jessica (Bryan), Rebecca (Jordan) & Sarah along with their children, his cousins, 3 dogs, & dear friend Steve Schneider & his family. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Ernest Louis & Hilda Albers & his brother Allan.
Born in New York City, he was your typical New Yorker – quick-witted, direct & determined. He grew up the same as any city kid would, except he spent 12 summers on a farm owned by German immigrants. He knew from the time he was a child that he wanted to be a doctor & he always considered himself lucky to be able to fulfill that calling. He graduated from NYU School of Medicine, completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the VA in Martinez & fellowship in Nephrology at the University of California, San Diego. In 1972 he joined the USAF & was stationed as a medical officer in Panama during the Vietnam War where he also discovered a love of scuba diving.
Eventually he found his way to Stockton, which had been advertised as needing a nephrologist “in the Bay Area”. As the Medical Director of the Dialysis Unit at San Joaquin General Hospital since 1979, he became a familiar face in all 4 hospitals in the area. The time & dedication he poured into his job & patients was unmatched & he was also devoted to the Dialysis staff who cared for them. As the County grew, so did the need for Dialysis services & he oversaw the unit’s expansion to the area south of the Hospital. For the past 44 years he also served the medical profession through his work with the San Joaquin Medical Society & was awarded their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2019. He continued to practice fulltime until his retirement in August 2024.
The Hospital also brought him together with his wife-to-be & her young son. An avid runner, you could often see Larry pushing the running stroller as they trained. He (finally) got on his knee & proposed after they finished a ½-marathon together. As the story goes, he wouldn’t have proposed if she hadn’t finished those 13 miles with him! A longtime member of the Sundance Running Club, he served as newsletter editor & also Race Director for the California 10-Mile for many years. He was particularly proud of finishing the 100th running of the Boston Marathon. Even though his runs eventually turned more into “walk-a-thons”, he still treasured the decades-long friendships he had with his fellow runners.
He also loved animals & probably would have taken in every dog in the city if possible. He would come up with his own silly names & made-up languages to talk to them & strangely enough they seemed to understand. Other passions were sailing, diving, woodworking, & astronomy, but really, he just enjoyed learning. He was a dedicated scientist & enjoyed cooking, which he viewed as just chemistry, but took forever to make a dish because he had to follow the recipe 1-step at a time & to a “tee”!
He had a laugh that can’t be forgotten, a dry sense of humor, & a quick wit. He was a friend & devoted husband & father & will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Pedro Molina Toyorada, aged 80, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, sibling and friend, entered to rest on 05th October, 2025.
Pete was the youngest son of the late Eutiquio Toyorada and Isabel Molina Toyorada. Fondly known as “Pete” to family and friends. He will be remembered for his supportive nature, loving presence, affectionate heart, and gentle soul.
It pains us after 40 days of the need to say goodbye once more to one of the pillars of our family. But we know that our pain is as equivalent as his joy to be reunited once again with his beloved wife Lucia Toyorada, who was his only love. Their children and their families—Raymond, Sonia, Rhaymrald and Teresa and Joe. He had four siblings. Three sisters and one brother.
Pete was a person who had a loving and caring soul. He touched the lives of his family and friends for his constant warmth and kindness. For those who are fortunate to be around him, he will be remembered for his artistic mind and touch. His originality on holidays to craft memorable art pieces. A notion of love and happiness for those around him.
Pete's memory will live in our hearts and we will always cherish his love and kindness. May his soul through the mercy of God may rest in peace.

Kathy Momi entered the Lord’s embrace on Saturday October 4th, 2025 and is now alongside her late husband Harry.
Kathy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Kathy is survived by her 2 sons – Mitch Yturri (Shay), Don Momi (Beverly), and daughter – Susan Ramirez, sister Bebe Rutledge, brothers Gary Matkin, Mark Matkin. Also 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Stephen L. Pittavino passed away unexpectedly on Oct.4,2025 at the age of 78 yrs., after a long illness.
He will be deeply missed by his loving partner Sharon Van Iderstine; son of the late John and Sira Pittavino.
Leaves also cousins and many friends. Steve was proud of his Italian Heritage and will be missed by his loving extended family in Italy.
A native of San Francisco ; graduate of St. Michael's grammar school, Saint Ignatius H.S., graduate of USF completing his BA. Interned at UC Davis School of Medicine in Community-Clinical Psychology.
Completed his studies at University of Wyoming where he received his PH.D. in 1978.
Steve had a successful private practice as a Clinical Psychologist for 40yrs. In Napa, Calif. and also specializing in Forensics.
Three of his enjoyments were the fellowship he shared with “Club 65” ," Insight Meditation Group “ every Saturday, and looked forward to his weekly Tai Chi practice in Lodi. Not to mention Taco Mondays!
Steve was a dog lover , avid cyclist, who loved fishing and hiking. His retirement years brought him new friendships and new adventures.

In Loving Memory, Linda Eve Newsom peacefully departed this life on Friday October 3, 2025 at the age of 73, at home in Stockton, CA. Born on September 1, 1952, to parents Eugene Faris Farley and Eva Farley. She is now reunited in heaven with her parents and stepbrothers Clyde Leroy Thomas and Lyle Donald Thomas.
Linda leaves behind husband James Edward Newsom Jr. and sons Trevor Eugene Newsom and Garrett Edward Newsom, step children Timothy James Newsom, Lisa Lauderdale, and Michael Lauderdale, five grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband Buddy Lauderdale.
She graduated from Luther Burbank High School in Sacramento. After she moved to Stockton, she went to work at Farmers & Merchants Bank for nineteen years. She then went to work at Blue Shield for eighteen years before retiring.
Linda loved her family and would host many functions in our home. She loved cooking, baking, shopping, and being there for of her family. She lived a life filled with kindness, strength, and devotion to her family and friends. She will be missed by all every day.

Eleanor Elizabeth Topping, beloved mother and cherished grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2025, at the age of 96.
Eleanor lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, faith, and strength. She was known for her kindness, gentle spirit, and the way she always put her family first. Her home was a place of warmth and comfort, where everyone felt welcome and loved.
She was an incredible cook, best known for her homemade tortillas and delicious Mexican dishes that brought her family together. It never failed—if anyone didn’t feel like cooking, they could come to her house without knocking and know there would be a warm meal waiting, always with enough to take home.
Eleanor also loved to dance and enjoyed every moment of it until she was no longer able to keep her balance. Her joy and energy will forever be remembered by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Steve Topping, her daughter Catherine Edna Jackson, her son-in-law Steve Jackson, and her grand daughter Ashieigh Taylor Whitlock
Eleanor is survived by her children: Margaret Ann Chavez and her husband Skippy, Leroy Steven Topping and his wife Kori, and Stephanie Lynn Topping. She also had several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who loved her dearly, as well as many other loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
