Dorothy Ann Ware

OBITUARY

Dorothy Ann (Farley) Ware was born January 1, 1948, in Marion, Arkansas, to Roosevelt and Clemmie Farley. She was the fourth of thirteen children and the eldest daughter. At the age of eight, Dorothy moved with her parents and seven siblings to Stockton, California, where she attended Commodore Elementary School and later graduated from Franklin High School in 1966.

In 1978, Dorothy married the love of her life, James Ware, in Reno, Nevada. They shared 48 years of marriage and built a beautiful life together. From their union came two daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie, and Dorothy also lovingly embraced James's two sons, Michael and Andre. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.

Dorothy retired from Tracy Defense Depot after 25 years of federal service. She later joined the Child Nutrition Services team at Lincoln High School, where she dedicated another 20 years before retiring for a second time.

Dorothy loved her family deeply and treasured the time they spent together. She enjoyed traveling, thrift shopping, Motown music, pearl jewelry, and her favorite Oscar de la Renta perfume. She had a sweet tooth and never met a cookie, cake, or pie she didn't like. She also appreciated the simple pleasure of a good nap. Most of all, Dorothy cherished her family, especially her granddaughter, Anaiya, with whom she shared a special and loving bond.

Dorothy Ann Ware passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, surrounded by her beloved husband and two daughters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roosevelt Farley Sr. and Clemmie Farley; her brothers, Sam Henry Farley, Leonard Farley, Larry Farley, and Charles Farley; her stepson, Andre Ware; and her mother-in-law, Lucille McGhee.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 48 years, James Ware; her stepson, Michael Ware; her daughters, Jennifer and Stephanie Ware; her granddaughter, Anaiya Patrick; her siblings, Roosevelt Farley II (Donna), Clemmie Farley, Jerry Farley (Joyce), Mildred Farley, Thelma Farley, John Farley, William Farley (Karen), and Brenda Muhammad; her aunt, Nora Johnson; and a host of loving cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends.

Dorothy will be remembered for her warm heart, love of family, beautiful spirit, and the many memories she created with those who were blessed to know and love her. She will be deeply missed.

Donna Lucile Sola

March 10, 1943 - August 19, 2026

Donna Lucille Sola, known lovingly to her family as Noni, passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 83 in Stockton, California. Born on March 10, 1943, in Carmel, California, Donna lived a life rich in love, laughter, and devotion to the people she held dear.


Donna graduated from Calaveras High School and went on to wear many hats throughout her working years. She served with the San Joaquin County Sheriff's office, worked for the Escalon school district, and retired from Macy's, where she worked the Estee Lauder counter. Wherever she went, she brought her warmth and easy charm along with her.


For 63 years, Donna shared her life with her husband, Richard Sola. Their long marriage was a testament to the kind of steady, enduring love that grows deeper with time. Together they built a family that meant everything to Donna. Nothing in this world mattered more to her than her children, grandchildren, and great grandson. She truly lived for them.


Those who knew Donna knew she was a phenomenal cook. She had a remarkable gift for tasting a dish and recreating it at home, more often than not improving on the original. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, and her table was always open. When she wasn't cooking, Donna loved to get away with her friends, delighting in trips to Tahoe and Las Vegas.
Donna was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Karen Sola. She is survived by her husband, Richard Sola; her daughter, Valorie Gilbert; her son, Steven Sola; her granddaughters, Emily Willett and Alexandria Sola; and her great grandson, Eli Willett. She leaves behind a family shaped by her love and a legacy that will carry on through them.


A woman of faith, Donna now rests in the loving arms of her Lord, reunited with those who went before her.

A service will be held on Friday, September 4th at 10am in the Evergreen Chapel at Cherokee Memorial Park, 14165 Beckman Rd, Lodi, California. A reception will follow at 12:30 in Angelina's Spaghetti House, 1563 East Fremont Street, Stockton. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to Hospice of San Joaquin.

Kathleen "Molly" Margaret Fleming

Kathleen "Molly" Margaret Fleming passed away peacefully in Modesto, California, on August 19, 2026, at the age of 84. She was born May 14, 1942, in Stockton, California, the eldest daughter of Francis and Ruth Quinn.

Molly married John Fleming; together they shared 58 years of marriage and raised their three sons in Stockton. Family was at the center of Molly's life, she especially enjoyed the gatherings, laughter, and time spent with those she loved.

Molly worked in the food service industry for several years and was an active member of her neighborhood, including participating in the Neighborhood Watch program on Longview Avenue. She was known for her warm smile, quick sense of humor, infectious laugh, and genuine willingness to help others. Molly had a natural ability to make people feel welcome and often turned strangers into friends.

Her parents, Francis and Ruth Quinn; her brother, Patrick Quinn; her husband, John Fleming; and her son, David Fleming, preceded Molly in death.

She is survived by her siblings, Michael Quinn and Margaret "Peggy" Quinn; her sons, James Fleming and his wife, Rebecca, and Paul Fleming and his wife, Linh; daughter-in-law Lissa Fleming; niece Sheri Soxman; grandchildren Shaun, Christopher, Kyle, Benjamin, Jared, Jessica, Andrew, Charles, and Quinn Fleming; and great-grandchildren Haley, Christopher Jr., Kayley, and Kian Fleming.

Molly will be remembered for her humor, generosity, and devotion to family. Her presence will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.

MARK AARON BEGLEY

April 25, 1960 • August 19, 2026 • Age 66

"Gentle Giant" • Dad • Doctor Lurch

Mark Aaron Begley, lovingly known as Dad, "Gentle Giant," and "Doctor Lurch," passed away on August 19, 2026, at the age of 66. Born in Missouri on April 25, 1960, Mark made his home in Stockton, California. Though Missouri was where his story began, his soul was that of a California boy.

A Life of Skill and Service

Mark graduated from Lodi Academy High School and spent much of his career as an RV mechanic. He was one of the best in his field. But his greatest work was not what he fixed with his hands— it was what he helped repair in the lives of others.

His Greatest Accomplishment

Mark's greatest achievement was his sobriety. He worked hard at it every day, then devoted his sober life to helping others. He was the person people called when they needed help finding AA, getting to rehab, or simply having someone who understood. He spent his sober days in acts of service and dedicated himself to saving lives from addiction.

His motto was simple: save as many lives from addiction as possible. By that measure, Mark succeeded. The lives he touched will carry his legacy forward.

A Father, Grandfather, and Friend

Mark adored his three daughters, Wendi, Megan, and Brittany, and his grandchildren, Holden, Bryson, and Tinzlee. If his children or grandchildren wanted something, Dad did everything he could to make it happen.

He shared a particularly special bond with his granddaughter Tinzlee Nicole. Their connection was one of a kinda bond that can never be replaced and will live on in her heart forever.

The Man We Will Remember

Mark was stubborn, funny, mischievous, and a true jokester. He loved with every fiber of his being. He loved beaches, pools, and the water, and never completely grew out of the little boy inside him. He was a chameleon who could blend into almost any environment and connect with just about anyone.

"You spent your life saving lives, loving your family, and showing people that another day was possible. You were our Gentle Giant, our Dad, our protector, our comedian, and our hero. We will spend the rest of our lives telling your stories, laughing at your jokes, and carrying your love with us.”

Survived by: daughters Wendi, Megan, and Brittany; grandchildren Holden, Bryson, and Tinzlee; siblings Dianne, Steve, Randy, and Jerry; and stepmother MelaVee.

Predeceased by: brother James, father Donald, and mother Eleanor.

Celebration of Life:

A service was held in Mark's name on August 19, 2026, at the clubhouse where he resided. His presence filled the room as family, friends, and members of his community gathered to celebrate his life, share stories, and remember the man who gave so much of himself to others.

Jordan Robert Marr

Jordan Robert Marr
April 26, 1990 – August 19, 2026

Jordan Marr, 36, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2026, following a brief illness.

Jordan graduated from Visions in Education in 2008. In October 2009, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve. Following basic training, he was assigned to 3rd Platoon, Bravo Company, AT Battalion. During his service, Jordan achieved the rank of Lance Corporal and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Rifle Expert Badge. He was honorably discharged in February 2013.

After his military service, Jordan worked for several years as a sales associate with various retailers. Most recently, he had the opportunity to work alongside his father in the pool service business.

Jordan enjoyed gardening, camping with his family, and shopping. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, his deep love of family, and, above all, his kind heart.

Jordan is survived by his parents, Gary and Ronda Marr; brother Korey (Bari) Marr; sister Natalie (Todd) Braverman; nieces Addy and Della; nephew Ryan; grandmother Idella Reed; and many extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leora and Lyle Marr, Frank Koyama, and Art Reed.

Jordan will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.

In God’s loving care, we announce the passing of Ema Carolina Almanza, who entered eternal rest on August 17, 2026, in Stockton, California, at the age of 57.

Carol led a life defined by her deep devotion to family and a meaningful connection to her community. Known as a beautiful, honest, and generous person, she was admired for her strong work ethic and spirit of service. Faith was her foundation and she found great joy in sharing the gospel of Jesus with everyone she encountered.

She is survived by her daughter, Ariana Guerrero; her son, Roman Aguirre; her grandchildren, Elijah Guerrero and Zariah Guerrero; her mother, Socorro Almanza; her sister, Elsa (Joseph) Keller; her brothers, Amador (Dolores) Almanza, Cesar Almanza, and Saul (Kristen) Almanza; and many beloved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Amador E. Almanza.

Bettie Jane Erbele

Bettie Jane Erbele

OBITUARY

Bettie Jane Erbele passed away peacefully at Lodi Memorial Hospital after a brief

illness on August 17 th , 2026. She was born in Lodi, May 12 th 1936 to John and Lydia

Fuller at Mason Hospital and lived her entire 90 years in Lodi. She attended Lodi

Academy and graduated with the class of 1954. After High School she spent a partial

year studying at Pacific Union College in Angwin California before being called home to

assist in the care of her older brother who had fallen ill. Once her brother had made a

full recovery, Bettie took a secretarial job with an Insurance Agency in Lodi where she

eventually met her future husband Melvin Erbele who was working across the street at a

gas station. They met over a cup of coffee and were married a year later on April 20 th

1958. They welcomed their son Brian the following year, and a daughter Shelley a year

later. They spent sixty-eight wonderful years together!

Once her children were in school, Bettie worked part-time jobs as a bookkeeper in the

Lodi area so she would be able to drop them off and pick them up from school every

day. In the 1970’s Bettie joined the volunteer women’s group Omega Nu (Alpha Delta

Chapter) and rose to the level of Grand President over all the Northern California

Chapters. When the children went off to college, Bettie started her own business

opening a Merle Norman Cosmetic studio in Stockton California. With the success of

the first studio, she was offered the opportunity for others. A second in Modesto

California and a third in Stockton’s Lincoln Center soon followed. After graduating from

college daughter Shelley would help Bettie manage these businesses. After Melvin

retired, they would operate these business’s together for twenty years before selling

them to new operators as they got closer to retirement. Bettie also operated a children’s

clothing store in Lincoln Center called Tutto Bella for six years before Bettie and Melvin

decided to sell that business and retire.

Upon retirement Bettie and Melvin enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Europe and

spending time at their second home on the Monterey Peninsula where they held annual

passes to the Monterey Jazz Festival for many years. Bettie was also a fan of the San

Francisco Giants and would travel with Melvin to spring training in Scottsdale Arizona as

recently as 2025.

Bettie is survived by her husband Melvin Erbele, her son Brian Erbele and daughter-in-

law Laddie, her daughter Shelley and son-in-law Steve Bandoni, their children Brock

Bandoni and his wife Talia, Scott Bandoni, and great grandchildren Ava, Ari, and Mia

Bandoni, and her sister Shirley Blake. She is predeceased by her brother Dr. Leland

Fuller MD, and sister Dolores Vollmer.

Roberto Jesus Ramos “Robert”, age 37, passed away on August 16, 2026, in Lodi, California. Born on July 20, 1989, to Roberto Ramos and Georgina Lopez-Garcia.

He is survived by his wife, Nikole Ramos, and their three children, Adrian, Noah, and Levi Ramos. Robert also leaves behind his parents, Georgina Lopez-Garcia and Roberto Ramos; his step-dad, Jose G. Garcia and step-mom Cinthia Ramos; his brothers, Eric Ramos, Michael Ramos, Alfredo Flores, and Isaak Garcia; and his sisters, Emely Garcia, Nia Garcia, and Cindy Flores.

Robert is preceded in death by his grandparents, Guadalupe and Jesus Ramos and his father-in-law, Dale Jackson.

His memory will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.

JoAnn McClelland

June 3, 1934 - August 15, 2026

JoAnn McClelland passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026, at the age of 92. Born June 3, 1934, in Lassen County to John and Dorothy Capezzoli, JoAnn was a lifelong California woman whose life was deeply rooted in family, ranching, friendship, and adventure.

JoAnn was born and raised on a ranch in Lassen County where she developed a lifelong love of the Western lifestyle and the ranching community. This love led her to serve as the Lassen County Rodeo Queen, become a member of the Lassen County Cowbelles, and continue a family tradition as a third-generation member of the Native Daughters of the Golden West.

On October 26, 1952, JoAnn married Hal McClelland. They shared 64 years of marriage until his passing in 2016. Family was always an important part of JoAnn's life. She is survived by her son, Robert (Bob) McClelland, and his life partner, Kelley Pile; their daughter, Shannon Rodriguez, and her family, including her husband, Nelson, and children, Mateo and Avery; grandson Nathan Habben and his wife, Christine; great-granddaughter Hannah Habben; two nieces; one great-niece; and three great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothy Capezzoli; her husband, Hal McClelland; her daughter, Debra Habben; and her sister, Janis Anderson.

In the second stage of her life, JoAnn discovered a new passion that she enjoyed for more than 40 years: golf. She was a member of Elkhorn Country Club and Woodbridge Golf and Country Club where she spent many hours playing golf, making friends, and creating wonderful memories including a hole-in-one. At Elkhorn, she led the Ladies 18 Hole Group as captain.

JoAnn and Hal enjoyed traveling. Together, they traveled to all 50 states with many of their journeys centered around their love of golf. JoAnn's love of travel extended beyond the United States as she also visited 13 foreign countries.

Tariq Rahman Barksdale

Tariq Rahman Barksdale
July 24, 1996 – July 10, 2026

Tariq Rahman Barksdale was born on July 24, 1996, to Shonda Taliaferro and Edgar Barksdale in Fremont, California. He was raised in Stockton, California and attended and graduated from Cesar Chavez High School. He passed away on July 10, 2026, at the age of 29, due to injuries sustained in a multi-vehicle accident just two weeks before

Although Tariq’s life was short, and he was still figuring things out as many of us do in our twenties, he made an impression on the people who knew him. He was a son, a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandson, a nephew, a cousin, and a friend. Each of those relationships was a part of the life he was still building. his 30th birthday.

Tariq had a slight lisp and a voice that was always pleasant to hear. He spoke in the language of his generation, so “Bruh” and “I’m not even gonna lie” regularly found their way into his conversations.

He was quick to laugh and just as quick to playfully roast someone. But even more memorable were his philosophical reflections on life. If you ever had one of those conversations with him, you probably walked away thinking either, “My brain really hurts right now,” or “He might be onto something.” Whatever kind of conversation you had with him, you were going to leave with either something to think about or to laugh about.

Tariq was still navigating adulthood, learning from life, making choices, and becoming the person he was meant to be. Like all of us, he was more than any single moment, decision, or circumstance. He was a whole person with hopes, struggles, humor, love, and possibilities that were still unfolding.

Among the most important parts of Tariq’s life were his two daughters, Elody and Xaleya Barksdale. Through them, a part of him continues. They will grow up knowing that their father was deeply loved and that their lives remain an important part of his story.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Ora and Henry Hill, and his older brother Ayatollah Muhammad.

Tariq leaves behind his daughters, Elody and Xaleya Barksdale; his mother and stepfather, Shonda and Raphael Taliaferro; his father, Edgar Barksdale; his grandfather David Lee Furr, and his siblings, Yazmah, Nassima, Maryam, Haidera, Bashar, Dominique, Joy, Ishmael, Najla, Sayeed, Fatir, Mustafa, Zenobia, Khalil, Jameela, Samiyyah, and Quadisha. He also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, great-cousins, extended family members, and friends.

His family will miss his voice, his jokes and laughter, and above all, simply having him here. Our lives are forever changed without his physical presence, but we carry him with us in our memories and in his spirit which we feel around us.

Nancy Syslo

Nancy Patience Syslo
November 2, 1949 - August 10, 2026

Nancy Syslo passed away peacefully at home after a long illness. She loved her children, her family, and the outdoors. Nancy had a lifelong fascination with all things British and was able to vacation in England twice, fulfilling her dream to stay in a cottage on the Northern coast. While she was there, she found great joy in visiting many castles, Westminster Cathedral, Stonehenge, Harrods, and countless other museums and attractions. 

Nancy was a homemaker for many years, caring for her family, then she worked as a typist for the San Joaquin Sheriff's Office before she retired. Her favorite pastimes were watching thriller movies and enjoying good food with her loved ones. Nancy was a devoted Christian and embodied her faith by helping those that she could. 

She is survived by her children, Hannah Ferreira (Kristopher), Stephen Syslo (Bonnie Bradford), and Gabriel Syslo; her sisters, Shirley Warner (the late Harold) and Mary Visco and many nieces, nephews, and extended family who all loved her dearly. 

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Opal and Ernest Dudley, her brothers, Lowell Dudley (the late Delores) and David Dudley, and her sister, Ardath Meador (the late Loyd)
